On Thursday I’m letting my 2 budgies fly out of there cage for the first time! They have a flight cage but I’ve never been able to help the fact my dad has 2 dogs and a cat and an open air fish tank. He helped me modify my bedroom so that there are no open cords. I also wish my dad would let me dm you my budgies cage. It felt so weird not seeing Bluebell but I know she will still be on your shoulder or playing in your hair or perched on your hand. I love your channel and you helped me change my birds lives. Edit: my budgies loved it! Also just ignore the part about Bluebell because I just found out Elle made this before she passed so please ignore that.
I love your videos, Elle! My teacher got a new job and had to move far away and couldn't take her budgies. My parents wouldn't allow me to get them, but my best friend got them and they're adorable! They were really old, so one of them died after around a year of being in her ownership, but the vet said it was because of old age. Her other budgie was really lonely, so she got another budgie to him company. We started watching your videos while we hung out with the birds, and now, even though I'm not a bird owner myself, they've become some of my favorites!

Love your videos. I have 2 budgies, both girls. I have a dog and a cat so I can't let them out too much. I have decided to wheel their cage into my bedroom and let them out. They are shy but I will keep trying. Little by little I will turn my bedroom into a bird room. Thanks for your videos.

The picture of the divided cage shown on 4:47 is actually the same cage that I had for my Quaker Parrot and 2 Budgies because we didn't have much space in our old place, we didn't have room for 3 cages since I have an African Grey Parrot too. But now I have a new place and they have separate cages. I put the Budgies in the same cage because they get along quite well and the cage is big enough for 2 Budgies. =)

Nice video! I learned a lot from it. I do have a question in general though, I recently got 2 budgies but I don’t exactly understand what to feed them, should I keep a bowl full of seeds in their cage all day or should I only fill it up with vegetables and seeds or pellets? You’ve once said that you shouldn’t change a diet immediately, my budgies only eat seeds from the bowl but I fed some vegetables to them today from my hand ( I got them today).

I know you have already 5 budgies, but if u have money get the other Cage put the bird in there u want to bond. But i really recommend bond with one and then get another one
@@2nnuuu I actually have 2 cages. They are the double/stacked flight cages, I got them for Christmas, but since I let them out all day I just leave both doors open and at the end of the day they just choose which cage they want to stay in for the night. But I could try separating one for the time being and work with her. She’s the youngest kind of the bravest one. Her name is cherry 🍒🤍 she’s an albino budgie. But thank you for the tip!!

Hello Elle, I just started watching your videos and they are amazing. Do you have any advice about what to do regarding sunlight? I live in a place where it is mostly cloudy and I don't have a garden to expose the bird. I'm almost sure that sun through a window wouldn't be enough, right? Tks again for sharing your knowledge.

It just depends on the bird because all birds have different personalities just like other animals and people

Hello Elle! i love all the birds of yours! I have a question for you hope you can help me.
My question is about food. My budgie Kiwi soo picky about food and eats almost nothing except seeds. I bought him the harrison pallets you suggested in one of your videos, but he won't eat it. It just pick the seeds. I also bought Veggie mix from kaytee, but he doesn't eat it either. I put fresh apples, bananas, cucumbers in his cage, he doesn't even touch it. He is 6 months old. I want him to be well fed, but I don't know exactly what to do.
Help! I recently got stainless steel feeding bowls for my budgie but she's starting to fling her food around because she sees her reflection in the bowl. Is there some other alternative material that isn't reflective but is also antibacterial?
Do you have any tips to help a grieving bird? One of my parakeets past away unexpectedly a month ago and it’s been hard on his mate. She calls for him all the time and try’s to go look for him throughout my house.
I would say talk to her or maybe play some recordings of there songs. If you have the time and money to get another budgie you can also do that. I’m sorry for the loss of your other budgie

The 1st cage looks big to me when I look at the "floor" of the cage. It's kinda looks like all 4 sides are equally length too. I wish the owner gave the dimensions to you.
I understand some things appear smaller or sometimes bigger from a phone, depending on the angles. I could be wrong on this one though.
2:12 I think those things on the wall are the bottom part of the cages that was removed from it.They go right above the plastic liner thingy. I can see the little handle on them.

I've been googling some information about the different birdcage options available near me or online and I'm definitely seeing mostly tall and narrow cages and the biggest ones are square at best. You talk a lot about how birds mostly fly side to side and how the cage should preferably be more wide than tall, what's your theory on why SO many cages are tall and narrow and why there are almost no cages that are notably more wider than tall?

My canaries have the exact same cage as the person with the budgies. The white tall one. It is wider than 18 inches according to the box and it can work for some birds. A lot of birds would probably prefer a wider cage tho.the cage does work for me 3 canaries and fights only happen when it comes to food

Please help!! I got my budgie 5 days ago and it adapted pretty quick but it doesn’t eat at all. I fed it a little green apple 3 days ago and that’s all it ate. It doesn’t eat the seeds at all or drink water .

Hello! Can you please make a video on how to trust my budgies out of its cage? It’s hard to trust to let it out if it’s cage I’m scared they will get hurt or not come back in.
Your bird probably won't get hurt as long as there are no dangerous things it can access to and if you leave your birds food and water inside the cage it'll probably go back in to eat and drink
I have three budgies. Each time I teach them recall they forget the next day. What do I do?
I have a question. I have recently bought some Conure sisters who are 7 years old from someone who couldn’t take care of them. They have a happy hut that they absolutely love and always have used. There’s been no health problems so far and they don’t eat at it. They’re also super loving and don’t seem hormonal. ( i think they’re female, that’s what the previous owner told me but there’s no paperwork) I also have a young female lovebird. She will climb up into our curtains and sleep. I feel like this is almost equivalent to a happy hut as it’s dark and cozy. She’s mean but she’s also newer to the flock (under 4 months old) so I feel like that’s normal plus she’s getting better with more interaction. Should I continue the happy hut? They’re hasn’t been any issues so far and I was going to see if I could make it safer by lining the inside of it with something else. Any recommendations?
