Anders Bagge has actually written music for Celine Dion and has even played the piano at one of her concerts in Sweden a few years ago. He suffers from severe stage fright and has pretty much never performed in public before so this was a challenge for him.

I know this comment is a bit unnecessary but I would prefer to not call Mello "Swedish try-outs". It makes mello sound a bit low-budget. Maybe call it the Swedish selection for Eurovision. Sorry if I come of as annoying because of this comment but I just had to.

Melodifestivalen is Sweden's most viewed show, and has been for more than 60 years. It´s a huge event. I think there were 27 000 in the audience in the final and millions watch and vote at home. The winner gets to go to Eurovision Song Contest.
You have already watched Sweden in Eurovision Song Contest (1958-2021) and seen that we've won 6 times. Only Ireland has won more. Melodi=Melody. Festivalen=The Festival. You can just call it "Melfest" for short, most English speakers do, Swedes often call it just "Mello".
It would be fun if you would react to the full versions of the ones you liked the most, or you can react to
    "Melodifestivalen 2021 (Sweden) | All Participants | RECAP" ,
"Melodifestivalen 2020 (Sweden) | All Participants | RECAP"
"Melodifestivalen 2019 (Sweden) | All Participants | RECAP" and so on.
If you look closely you will see that some participants have participated many times.

I'm gonna recommend Molly Sanden, she's Swedens best singer right now, imo. If there's any song that shows her magical voice it's "Husavik". She sang it live at the Oscars but didn't win, although everybody around the WORLD disagrees with her not winning. Check out the live perfomance, you wont regret it!

    • @onomatopoetisk

I think i know what you're saying, but searching for the yt-video on CZcams, you'll find it under "Molly Sanden", not "My Marianne", since it Molly Sanden who is singing live, not the character from the movie...

Hi! I’m from Sweden and here is some fun facts about almost every artist this year:
Malou Prytz with ”Bananas” has been in Melodifestivalen two times before with (according to me) better songs called ”I do me” and ”Ballerina”.
Theoz with ”Som du vill” (it means ”as you wish” or ”whatever you wan’t) is just 16 years old and became famous at the age of 11.
Omar Rudberg with ”Moving like that” was in a Netflix-serie called ”Young Royals” and competed in Melodifestivalen before, in a band called FO&O.
Cornelia Jakobs with ”Hold me closer” won the whole competition.
Robin Bengtsson with ”Innocent love” won year 2018 with ”I can’t go on”.
John Lundvik with ”Änglavakt” (it means ”angel guard”) won Melodifestivalen year 2019 with ”is it too late for love”.
Tone Sekelius with ”My way” is trans and a very famous blogger in Sweden.🏳️‍⚧️
Lisa Ajax - singing ”Tror du att jag bryr mig” (it means ”do you think I care”) with Niello - is a very good singer who won another competition called ”Idol” and has competed in Melodifestivalen three times earlier (I think),
Anders Bagge with ”Bigger than the universe” is actually judging in ”Idol” and was pretty nervous about performing in public as he usually was the one judging the people on stage. He has also written music for Celine Dion.
Cazzi Opeia with ”I can’t get enought” is the producer of many k-pop songs, look her up!
Linda Bengtzing with ”Fyrfaldigt hurra” (it means something like ”Congratulations”) is the one who has competed most times in Melodifestivalen, six times to be exactely.
Klara Hammarström with ”Run to the hills” has been in this competition before and is kind of famous for having a huge family with a total of ten siblings, they even have their own tv-show.
Anna Bergendahl with ”Higher power” has been in Melodifestivalen three times before and won, year 2010 with the song ”This is my life”.
Sorry if I spelled anything wrong or misunderstood anything😊

Personally this years Melodifestivalen was quite weak, 2016, 2019, and 2021 imo was much stronger years in terms of music, but my favourite song won this year so it was perfect!
Btw, it would be fun to see your reaction to some more Eurovision, we just recently got all the 40 songs/countries for this year, there are compilations, recaps, tops etc. ”Eurovision 2022 All songs” for example, the Eurovision YT page has a recap (I don’t know if it may be geoblocked in The US but you could check!) 😁
Also the same channel that had the Swedish Eurovision video ”Schlager Lucas” had a great video of all the winning entries from 1956-2021, it would be awesome to see it too. 😁
Thanks for a great video once again!

In the song "Som du vill" ("As you please") Theoz switch from saying "I love it when you do as you please" to saying "You wouldn't dare leave me like this" in a threatening manner, indicating that he'd hurt who he's singing towards if they elft him. He sings it with a smile though, which if you ask me is kinda creepy.

Swedish Eurovision songs are pretty much always I English when it is allowed, can remember if we ever sent an Swedish language song when it wasn't required by the competition rules. But some "cheat" and run the Swedish version at Mello and then the English at Eurovision if they win.
