How can there be a Eurovision video without Verka Serduchka? A lot of the early songs had to have been inspired by Lordi.
The 2 Moldova songs (1 with the granny banging the drum and 1 with the hats) were the same band and they are called Zdub zi Zdob and they are back this year fir a third time ....love those guys

There’s a lot of those songs that I really like! Moldova 2005 with the granny on the drum… Portugal 2019 with that green outfit and fascinating song…France’s Sebastien Tellier 2009 with Divine. And Hatari from Iceland 2019. Some songs make an impression with their staging but can also be very good songs.
It's funny when it's other countries, but when your own country comes you can't help but cringe

9:30 Sylvia Night is a tv show character from Iceland. Her actual name is Ágústa Eva Erlendsdóttir and it was a really popular satire tv-series in Iceland at the time. Europe however didn't know her and didn't get the joke. Probably because eurovision is a music contest and people judged the song based on that
@@sannev8407 It is a music contest, but as a Eurovision fan that was following the competition at the time, I also know that it wasn't because it was being judged on the song, they booed her from the start of the song. As I said, it was a act. She acted like a diva the whole time because she was supposed to be in character. The media around Eurovision hated her because of how she talked. It was a inside joke gone wrong because the Eurovision bubble wasn't in on the joke. If you check the video I linked in the comment you just responded to, you might see what I'm saying in her duo with Magni. A famous Icelandic singer from the band "Á móti sól" which means "Against the sun"/"Facing the sun". Yes it was tacky, no it wasn't a good idea but hey it's been a long time since then, at this point it's a nice song to laugh at for humor :D it's not like it's competing anymore.
@@Addy1987 humor can also be done in a good way.. and not only the 'bubble' was not in on the joke, i think almost everyone.. i can enjoy good humour but this was straight up terrible. Romania 2007 or Lithuania 2006, that was humor done well

Italy from 2017(the one with the gorilla lol) is actually very good. They were a favorite to win that year, but it didn't.

@@sannaolsson9106 yeah fair enough, still the think the studio version, and san remo were more 'powerful' in some kind of way, also the gorilla could go for me. Staging just didn't come across enough to get the win, 6th is still a good resulg

And yeah, the Italian 2017 entry was p. good. But the only winner in this was Lordi (2006(Finland(Hard Rock Hallelujah)))

most of the acts in that video are very creepy and weird .....okay, some are amazing (like the last one - Finland 2005 with the band Lordi and the song "Hard Rock hallelujah" - they won the ESC).

This is what you come to watch Eurovision for. Not the pretty music videos with good editing and auto-tuning. No, the bonkers life show is where it's at, I had the best time laughing with popcorn flying everywhere with my grandma and a lot of "fremdschämen".

Facts, if I don't get this level of crazy, it's a bad Eurovision year, it's as simple as that. If I want basic boring stuff I'll go watch literally any other music show 😂
@@alice45-fgd-456drt That doesn't mean it has to be crappy music tho. Being different and being not-boring doesn't mean you have to be weird, fun and campy, it's also still a quality music competition

Some of these were straight up terrible, some of these were weird but actually good music as well. Oh and yodeling is a pretty common thing in austria

I forget how much truly mad shite there was in 2008! Creme de la crazy is France and Bosnia if anyone in the Balkans can enlighten about what song is about please do. Poor Who See so underated! Poor Conan Osiris so underated! Yeah the Romanian lady of 2019 is awesome! I love the Teapacks! I kinda love everyone except Slyvia Night and Flying the Flag.
Bosnia 2008 wasn't really about anything tbh. It was a weird year with many trolls but also still many amazing songs
