    Great video! Another "rule" to note - the second leg needs to be of the same award type as the first for it to be considered "free". Meaning, if the first leg is a saver ticket, the second one also needs to be a saver. Typically, when booking a multi-city trip, United changes most, if not all, flights in the first leg to be saver space. This way, the second leg shows the real public saver space. However, if you are able to find a non-saver flight in the first leg, ALL the flights in the second leg will be "free". This is particularly useful to book really expensive non-saver tickets on the second leg.

    Great video! How do you find the “cheap” flights to start with? E.g. Paris to Istanbul.

    • @geobreezetravel
      @geobreezetravel  Před rokem +1

      I like to use skyscanner.com. There are also a lot of subscription lists (Scott's Cheap Flights, Jack's Flight Club, Dollar Flight Club) that send alerts for cheap flights/

      I've had the most luck finding flights to/ from Bogota, especially on Virgin Atlantic. Here's a tutorial you might find helpful for Virgin Atlantic redemptions: czcams.com/video/smmDV1m68i4/video.html
      We can also provide you with personalized step-by-step tutorials for routes you're having trouble searching for on your own through the Patreon. Our next group coaching session is August 29 at 7 pm est. Hope to see you there!

    Enjoyed your video. Do I have to sign up to be a United Excursionist Perk member? if yes, how? I tied to book 5 one-way trip, leaving from DFW then back to DFW, in between I will visit Paris, Taipei but it didn't work, all one-way trips requires miles. Please help. thank you.

    • @geobreezetravel
      @geobreezetravel  Před 10 měsíci

      No sign up required, but you might want a United frequent flyer number (free to get one on united.com). The trick with Excursionist is just to make sure you structure your flight correctly, using the directions in this video. DFW-Paris-Taipei-DFW won't work since Paris and Taipei are in different regions, unfortunately.

  • @BilalBilal-rm2kz
    @BilalBilal-rm2kz Před 9 dny

    So basically the second flight within the same region will be free ? Example from U.S to Paris if want to stay 5 days in Paris then go to spain to stay for 6 days my 2nd flight from Paris to Spain will be considered free ? & I have to return to U.S from Spain right ?

    • @geobreezetravel
      @geobreezetravel  Před dnem

      yes, that's correct, the second leg from Europe city 1 to Europe city 2 is 0 points.

  • @loloi
    @loloi Před 2 měsíci

    If you don’t take the third leg, can you cancel it and get your miles back?

    • @geobreezetravel
      @geobreezetravel  Před 2 měsíci +2

      I don't advise doing that in case they reprice the leg you already took and you end up having to pay out more miles

    Can you book 2 people using united excursionist perk? My husband has enough points but I do not.

    • @geobreezetravel
      @geobreezetravel  Před rokem +1

      Yes, he can book multiple tickets on the same itinerary with United Excursionist as long as there is enough award availability on the flights you're looking at.
