A lot of people say hk sounds bad and every car I've heard it in it hasn't impressed me. Shame how many people pay for it

I agree, I had two 3-series BMW's and the OEM sound was just "ok"...!
Like every car on the market at any price, manufacturers don’t add true subs or quality subs with matching amps. The h/k speakers in BMWs really come alive with a more powerful amp and DSP; then add a true mono amp and trunk sub and you can tune the system to use the 8s under the seats to be bass drivers and the car will sound awesome. I’ve done it in 3 BMWs.
Iv got bowers and Wilkins in mine and i had the audison prima apbx 10 installed and im not impressed by it, i seem like the only one. The bass is really muddy where it lags behind the rest of the songs. E.g. the bass isnt punchy and i just hear a lot of rumbling when there shouldnt be any, dunno if anyone else has the same issue
Thank you for the comment. You need to have it properly installed and set up, don't blame a product for poor installation. Depending on the type of music you like, then yes the 10'' active sub may not be the best route for you, you may need something different, but again, that isn't a fault with a product, that is just a case of not understanding or being explained the type of sound you will get from it when you purchased it.
I agree with you, JL Audio blows it away for the price.

The M2 is beautiful imo, I own one. As for the weight, again, drive it and you won’t be so critical.
