This is the Road improvements for the A417 at the Air Balloon.Roundabout in Gloucestershire.
Shows the latest work progress with the pub fenced off, and excavations in adjacent fields
The Pub closed in December 2022 and as part of the road improvements, involved dualling of the two way section here.
The current works progress extends to.nearby fields and will.ultimately see the whole area redeveloped for the new road!
(Works started last Spring following pub closure but at the time of filming, the pub was fenced off and boarded up but still standing)
The Road improvements follow a number of fatal accidents over the years, some potentially linked to bad driving / poor hazard perception!
Blatant contraventions of traffic laws can sometimes be seen in crossing White lines with many foreign registered lorries and possibly lesser experienced drivers.
It's not the road but the drivers that need changing in many cases and with the causes of accidents!!
[Notably some drivers contravene the white lines and safety rules..which can be one habitual without any fear of challenge, reprisals or prosecution!!]

No..it couldn't achieve listing Bill, due to the fact it had had too many extensions over the years!! It's days are numbered!!!!!
