Interesting to see what's happening back there in England, in Gloucestershire. I remember, many years ago, the original dualling from Nettleton to Cricklade being built, and having to crawl through Cirencester and Latton. Then, later years, I was travelling to just outside Swindon once a week for work, and remember Blunsdon being bypassed, making my journey quicker. Interesting to see the last piece of the puzzle finally being built, from afar.

Ugly and I miss the Air Balloon, its demolition was pure arrogant vandalism. As for the slogan, "Improving your journey", what B.S. Unlike these roadworks, my regular journey between Gloucester and Cirencester never bothered me. Like HS2, this is simply tarted up Keynesian economics, the only purpose being to keep an industry considered to be of national importance employed. It's got nothing to do with improving my journey. As if the Dept of Transport cared. I prefer honesty. The Channel Tunnel. HS2. Endless 'vital' road 'improvements'. What's next? A road bridge between Scotland and Northern Ireland? Some mad scheme, any mad scheme! The steel industry can go hang but the construction industry will still be supported (keeping engineers, excavator and asphalt layer drivers in a job) whilst the country can yet afford it. About another decade or so before the debt crisis really hits.

If you used half of your brain for once then you wouldn't tout baseless conspiracies about Keynesianism - am ideology that hasn't existed for damn near a century now, and recognise that it is quite the opposite - this government is severely underinvesting in public infrastructure in this country to the extent that Britain has third world transport provisions compared to other countries of similar economic development. This stretches to roads, railways, hospitals etc. People like you seemingly are in favour of a future under this Tory stewardship where nothing ever gets built at all and the populace gets to face a lifetime of crumbling roads, congestion, pollution and a declining economy. Be my guest! 🎉
