      What were you doing wrong?

    • @stephenarmstrong4801
      @stephenarmstrong4801 Před 5 lety +1

      Not necessarily doing wrong, but I am monkey see monkey do and I noticed improvement points here. One was the dead stop / pause on the floor on the DB LTEs. In your previous video I think It was I was reminded to get an even deeper stretch on the DB incline press.
      Visuals on these are really helpful.

    Hey Andy did you use a rotating linear progression after your surgery? I know you wrote an article about it, just curious if any video might be coming out in the near future.Thank you sir, love your content, glad to see you back at it!

    Hi andy great vid .just curiouse to why you do isolation stuff like the fly when the dip is a better move wouldnt it be better to just do another set of dips than do flys .cheers!!

    Why your rest times are so low? Rip recommends resting at least 5 minutes between each set. You'd get to use heavier weights that way :)

      Yeah, but that recommendation is in regard to Starting Strength.

      5+ minute rest times are a good idea when pushing maximal or near maximal loads in a given rep range. However, maximum loads are not my focus right now. After the surgery and layoff my focus is re-establishing my work capacity and rebuilding muscle mass, and using dynamic effort / speed work + assistance exercises to build volume. This does not require long rest times. As I get closer to the meet I anticipate rest times increasing as loads get heavier.

    You might want to throw away that bench on the background, looks horrible, get a pair of competition benches with the adjustments less than 1 inch, that two toothed piece of crap come on. Terrible. You'd probably bench more too if you had proper equipment. I'm not being nasty it's a real joy to have a proper bench and not one of those, good for the business, good for you. Maybe you are used to using that and lost sight, but it's million miles from optimal for everybody.

      Thank you for your extremely helpful observations. I've been struggling to crack the 500 lb Bench Press for a few years now, I never knew it was because of my bench! I thought it was just me! Tiny Meeker benched 600+ lbs for reps on that bench, but I bet he would have done WAAAAAY more on a better bench!

      New to the channel, but I can always appreciate a good dose of legitimate sarcasm Andy, well done.
