Hello, Looking for some help. New rebuild gas version of same size 1955 Ford 860. Started it for first time for 45-60 seconds and no oil pressure on gauge or coming up to rocker shaft, so shut it down. Removed distributor and used 1/4" socket on drill to drive oil pump...after spinning for a minute or maybe even longer...I got 15-20 psi at the the gauge, but no oil up on the rocker shaft at all. Suggestion as to where to look next why it is not delivering oil? I checked the oil pump before installation for wear, and it showed very little wear and was within tolerances. I really appreciate your videos and help. Thanks.

The rockers only get oil at a certain camshaft position. The oil galley is kinda L shaped so it doesn't deliver constant oil up top. 15-20 psi is a little low but is ok. Rule of thumb is 10psi per 1000 rpms. The top should receive oil after running a short period of time. Main thing is making sure the oil guage shows pressure, which means the crank and cam are getting oiled.

Love these videos. Keep them coming! I recently bought a 961 with the diesel and your videos have helped tremendously. This is the same engine as what’s in the 961 diesel correct? Where did you get the throttle link rod and cam? Do you have a part number? I’m needing one for my 961

Thank you. Yes it is the same engine. The throttle linkage and cam are all original parts. You'll have to locate some from a used tractor yard if yours are damaged. Don't know of any reproduction ones for a diesel.

I have a 1964 Ford 4000 172 4cylinder diesel I'm thinking about rebuilding the engine do you have a guesstimate about how much it would cost me ? I'm just trying to get an idea Thanks in advance

Really depends on what all is needed. A rebuild kit runs around $1000. Machine work will vary depending on your location. Dont know what labor would run since I do all my own work other than machine work.

Bro. My Ford 3600 Crank is OK
But when tractor is running nd hot & low rpm
then oil pressure meters show 30 degree
    Is it's OK Pl.rep.

Yes 30psi is fine when the engine is warm. General rule of thumb is 10psi per 1000 rpm. Oil is thinner when hot so pressure will be lower.

Yes. Luckily it was laying down in hole and I was able to get it with a magnet.
