I was a nine year old kid in Syracuse NY. Mom took us to a diner gave me a dime for the jukebox. This was my selection. The cashier jammed the volume and the entire place just rocked out to this awesome song. Best lunch ever!!!!

They were a great band back in the day, perhaps 2nd only to T Rex in the glam rock days. I was 9 when I first heard them and still listen from time to time.
There was something about Sweet, real star quality, unique sounds and superb vocals by Connolly.
I was young also when I heard them. I’ve always been a lover of music and dancing since I was a kid and now I’m 55. And I’ve got such a variety of songs on my playlists. And this past year, I don’t know why, but it’s like I’ve become so obsessed with them!! I actually got a reply back from Lisa Priest which was pretty cool! But they were a great band who all together they were just perfect! No one could ever replace these guys. I listen to them every day/night and never get tired of hearing them!! R.I.P guys… And Andy, keep going strong.

How were The Sweet 'underrated'? They won huge international fame, a stack of top ten hits, were widely regarded as rock gods, fantasised about by millions of teenage girls (and boys!), earned a ton of cash, and we are still loving their music and paying tribute to them 50 years later.
Most musicians would love to be as 'underrated' as them!
B sides were amazing on all their singles!! Still as fresh sounding today as when their songs were first released..never dated. Long live 70s/80s TOTP. Glory daze!!

I've made multiple comments about this group and I actually got a like and an Aww with emoji from Lisa Priest!!!! I think the 4 of them were the perfect match to make this group how awesome they were. I think if you replaced just 1 of them , never knowing whichever band member it would be, I don't think the group would've been as how we love and appreciate them !! And even if we did know what band member it would be, the same applies!! Does anyone know what I mean bc it's hard explaining when you're not actually talking!! The press were always writing stuff about Brian saying he was a party man , which he just wasn't. But in the end he went with the image the press were inventing about him. But still he always came over as a lovely Guy.
