Still listening to this banger in 2024
Still bangin, here, in the US! Keeping songs like this alive.
Insane how this song was released half a century ago and people still listen and enjoy to it till date!!!
I brought the 45 of this to "show and tell" in kindergarten. Nobody else had any idea what the hell was going on but damned if I didn't love every minute of it!
This comes from a time of no Computers no auto tune, just Old School Guitar drums & bass & balls of Steel!!
The year, 1975 ... I was 8 , at the bowling alley . Had a quarter , this kid I knew who was a couple years older than I. Suggested we play 2 songs on the juke box . Me I was kind of naive about music . So of course I let him choose the songs . The two songs he chose were sweet , Fox on the run and kiss , rock and roll all night . Opened me up to a whole world of audio bliss . I'll never forget that moment .
That's an awesome story the music then was SO much more creative than the Shit now. I wish I had a time machine. Where are you from AND what's going on there with THE VIRUS? I'M from Arizona and things every day are being closed or limited. Eating out is now banned but you can still order pick up and I think delivery.
@@kathryndogoloff5297 I was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. I am living in Albuquerque, NM , now . Yes that is a great memory. Sweet kinda fell off after 75 , but I definitely became a huge kiss fan . But fox on the run will always hold a special place in my heart . I can still feel that joy I felt that day . With the opening key board and the vocals bursting in I...I...I DONT WANNA KNOW YOUR NAME . the Corona virus here , schools shut down , converts and other large events canceled. Grocery stores empty of stock , starting tomorrow all restraunts will be carry out only . Me I was between jobs and my new job has been put on hold. My wife works from home so no change there .
@@ronnietarnacke5153 memories like that are literally priceless. They are what we can always turn to if we want that warm happy feeling. I never got into Kiss I was really young then I listened to rock because thank God of my much older sister so whatever she liked I liked. I needed to hear this to escape the scary present where viruses are spreading music sucks AND I'm SO far away from my mom and dad who are my BEST FRIENDS and I miss them incredibly right now and worry for them SO much everyday. Be safe and keep listening to awesome music.

Good Choices: can't ever go wrong with Kiss
No smoke machines, no laser shows, no giant screens...just pure talent, charisma and stage presence. God I miss the world I grew up in.
Same world dude, ever see the Wings Over America concert, that tour started only a year after Fox was recorded. Smoke, lasers, at least for Live and Let Die. Anyway FOTR is my favourite revenge song ever, and before they were ever called revenge songs, although Weird Al's One More Minute is probably close enough to tie. At any rate I largely agree with you, with the exception of Disco ( especially Disco ), and 99% of Country music I miss those radio years, hell I even miss the Bubblegum Pop.
Ich vermisse die Welt von damals auch. Das war wenigstens noch gute Musik!😁
Thanos?! Is that you?!

@@davidkillawee6 That era does not exist anymore. Those were the best of times!!

Hi Mark ,you and I HAVE THE SAME SURNAME [ GARRETT ] , might we be related ,as well as liking THE SWEET , EXCELLENT . [ ROB GARRETT ] .
This band was so underrated they are great
Never got true recognition which was an outrage
They got plenty of attention.
im sure smaller bands would kill for the amount of recognition this band got
I believe that the Sweet are the most underrated band in history. Arguably, I was very young when they were in their prime. Yet from reading many sources, they had more success in their native UK and Europe than in the USA. They were also pioneers of the 1970s UK Glam Rock movement which wasn't as recognized in the USA. After Steve Priest's passing, his daughter Lisa said on their live "Hellraiser" performance(video on CZcams) that she was 5 years old when her daddy performed. And I agree--the Sweet were a great band indeed!
@@andymatthews7617 I could be wrong on this, but it seemed like Sweet got more recognition in their native UK and in Europe but not as much in the USA. If you mean they didn't get true recognition as musicians, do you mean that because of what the critics said? Being a musician myself, I believe they deserved recognition as musicians for many reasons. You might be interested to watch this British guitarist's analyzing and appreciation of Sweet's performing "Hellraiser."

@@margonca17I love Costa Rica, such a beautiful place, my daughter got stung by a jellyfish (she was ok) & we had a huge sea turtle swim up between our legs in heavy waves @ shoreline!
@@Bagelrob399 And just to get in there before the usual "There's still great music out there, you just have to know where to look for it." morons, being obtuse doesn't diminish the fact that we were SURROUNDED by great music, by genuine bands who'd mostly served long apprenticeships. Sadly, the industry got infested and truly **cked over by bling wearing morons who don't even know that a peaked cap is meant to keep the sun out of your eyes, who jibber-jabber over a monotonous bassline and drum machine.....the easiest road to stardom will do, jibber-jabber beats the effort of learning to play a guitar! Lazy kids.
I love everything about this, the attitude (especially Steve Priest's), the costumes, the synth, everything!!!!!!
This is an 85 mph song when you are driving in your car. Thanks Guys! Still as good as it was a few years ago when I was a teen.
These Cats knew how to make an entrance and work a room by sheer raw talent BRILLIANT musicians and vocalists😊
Serving a long apprenticeship was still the usual way. If the grim WMC's didn't destroy your enthusiasm, you likely would learn to work an audience. Eventually you hope for a following as a "cult" band and then hope for a label's spotter to catch you at your best, in front of a good audience. The sad documentary about Brian working a holiday camp showed that there were a few older ones who remembered the good days. As for Brian, he needed the love of an audience, there's no feeling like hearing applause, even billionaire McCartney can't live without it, in his 80s.
OMG, just relived my entire youth in one song.
Was a huge fan in the 70s....middle school for me....
If this song comes on the car radio, I WILL be singing loudly. 🙂
Great days fabulous band very very sadly missed 😢😢

This is one of those songs I grew up with, but never paid it much attention. (I was 3 when it came out). So in my case it was: "I should know this song!"
When I heard it in the trailer.
Sweet was one of the very few bands that were able to thrive both during and after disco died out.
That's true--Sweet definitely had much competition when disco and other music genres came on the scene.
Sweet never was considered disco, during that Era we called bands similar to them Glam Rock
Sweet memories of cruising in my 1974 Vega with this on my 8-Track. Those were great days of being a teen.
This song never gets old!! Excellent!!
Hope this song will be on Guardians vol.2 next year

From the opening synthesizer swirl to the stomping, riff-heavy verse to the insanely catchy chorus - this is Sweet still in their pomp.
'Fox On The Run' is a dynamic, supercharged record that 47 years on, still has plenty of bite.
Guitar and bass intro was used by Quiet Riot for " Bang your head ".
And it's just freakin' fun too!
Thank you Patrick Bateman.
And I have the bite marks to show for it.

As a teenager in the 90s I was going through my aunt’s old band T shirts in her room at my grandmother’s house. I found a Sweet Tee and an April Wine shirt and once I listened to the bands, I was hooked. I wore those band tees out and still listen to Sweet and April Wine.
Damn! This band had hit after hit. I was 7 and I still love these songs now. Hall of famers in my book.
James Gunn have a great musical taste, one which I identify, it is really cool that he brings me to memory all this great music.
Memories of Elementary school days. Teach was so cool , at recess he had a record player and would let us bring in records and play the whole period. This song was the coolest song in the world when your 8-9 years old. I was a huge KISS fan (back then how wasn't). I brought in my new Love Gun album. Sweet, Nazareth, Paul McCartney and Wings, Queen, Slade, and even the Carpenters. Those where the best times I ever had in school.
