  • This is the Range Rover Evoque Hybrid, and in this video we wanted to have a look to see if it is a really can be a replacement to traditional internal combustion powered cars. The Evoque hybrid is powered by a 1.5 litre 3 cylinder petrol engine up front and a bank of batteries at the rear giving over 300hp and 500NM of torque. But a hybrid is not only about outright performance, it must also drive well.

The pros for this car is you can do local shopping trips just using the ev mode or school drop off if commutes are under the stated ev range and pick up runs after school but on the weekends take a long road trip to visit friends and family or leisure so you'd save the fuel for that instead of using it doing shipping trips and school runs. Very nice car overall especially for short commutes for example some family's live less than 5 miles from a shopping centre or school or even work.

A question that seems to me to be important but that I never see answered: in hybrid mode, how many kilometers is it possible to travel, even if approximately (with a battery charge)? I know it depends on the driving style, but in a gasoline car too, and yet we know approximately how many kilometers we can travel with a tank. It is important, because it makes all the difference whether the range is only 100 kilometers or 500 ...

EV batteries autonomy, whatever the car model/ brand WLTP are just like the current charging powerbanks. You Always remove 30% and that Will be the real capacity. That's what currently all ev cars in 2023 are showing even Tesla or others. Example: a 10k powerbank only has really 7000mah that would Charge a phone battery of 4250mah around 1x plus around 70% second charge

My wife has this car, its rapid off the mark, I've got a seat cupra and the evoque is a rocket up to 40-50.
No bogging down, the torque is instant.

@@craigbennett5468 Thank you. Since asking the question I have test driven a BMW X3 xDrive20i, an Evoque p200 and a Discovery p300e. The worst was the Evoque p200. There was a big delay but when it did change gear the performance was impressive. Second was the BMW. There was still an unacceptable delay to change gear but not as much as the Evoque. What was really disappointing about the BMW was that it didn't really feel powerful at all even though it has over 180 bhp. The Discovery PHEV, on the other hand was so much better. The response from the electric motor was instant and noticeable. Then the petrol engine kicked in alot quicker than either the Evoque p200 or the BMW gearboxes. Based on this experience I've ordered an Evoque p300e. I also really liked the performance of the p300e engine off the line....not only faster but a lot smoother than the gear changes in the p200's 9-speed box.

@@williamcouncil4018 I'd be interested in knowing how your wife is getting on re mpg. If she goes on a journey of say 100 miles wha sort of MPG does she get? We have a Mini E for local journeys but still interested in Evoque PHEV or would pure petrol be better?

Have had a courtesy Evoque Hybrid this last 3 weeks while my F pace is sorted and I’m not impressed with it 1 bit. Drinks more petrol than my own F pace for what I use it for and although there was a mention of a 3 pin plug to charge it which I never got. Only problem is I’m more rural so no charge point around the corner can’t wait to get my F pace back 😁

WARNING I ordered this car last year finally received it in October I had it for 3 weeks covering 500miles I then rejected the car and gave it back to Land Rover. The reason for rejection was, when I ordered the car it was advertised as doing 41 miles of pure electric range it was then changed to 34 miles of range without being told. The range you will get out of this car is mid to low 20’s for me this wasn’t good enough. Overall a beautiful well made car just doesn’t do what it said on the tin and not worth its 50k+ price tag!!!

Strange review. We have information about how coffee it was but not how long it took you drink your coffee and how many percent it charged.
Please keep up with one topic, the car.
How was the isolation? How is material quality? Is car roomy enough, how much trunk lost via batteries? How many miles you did with EV mode or hybrid mode?

This car has serious reliability issues with the gearbox and problems associated with the dpf filter. Had a 20 plate R Dynamic D180 S for 12 months, and getting rid after numerous issues.
Fumes coming into the cabin, gearbox sticking, gearbox failing to select, suspension issues, dpf failure and more!
Stay well clear if you want a vehicle that won't be in getting looked at every month!
The brand is clearly suffering from poor manufacturing and design faults.
No gone for a Kia Sorento and it's hands down way better than the Evoque!

Come back with the video that tells the whole truth....How much the cost is for the home charging point & what it really does on EV alone ...I bet it is not what they say!!! & it's miles / gallon that will not be a true figure & you'll only get 34 miles range at low speeds with everything OFF....I don't know how they get away with the trades description act or has that gone by the way of the Dodo ?
