  • This GlowShift video shows you how to install our 7 Color Series Diesel Gauge Package into a 1992-1997 Ford F-Series with a 7.3L IDI or 7.3L Power Stroke.
    Get this diesel set here: www.glowshiftdirect.com/7-col...
    GlowShift’s IDI & Power Stroke Gauge Package features a Diesel Boost Gauge, EGT Pyrometer Gauge, Transmission Temperature Gauge, and Fuel Pressure Gauge. Also included is an F-Series Pillar Gauge Pod created specifically for the factory A-pillar of the 92-97 7.3 F-Series F-250 or F-350. We went with this set of F-Series gauges based on feedback from our Tech Team, who recommended these gauges and pod as the optimal fit for the 7.3 IDI and 7.3 Powerstroke.
    We kick off the process by demonstrating the installation of the Boost Line for the Boost Pressure Gauge. We cut the Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor (MAP) Line and insert a Boost T Fitting Adapter. Once installed, you thread in the Boost Gauge Adapter and then run the Boost Line to it.
    We add the Electronic Fuel Pressure Sensor for the 7.3 Powerstroke Fuel Pressure Gauge by removing the driver’s side Schrader valve and threading the sensor into the fuel filter housing. The EGT Probe is installed by drilling into the driver’s side Exhaust Manifold and threading in the EGT Probe Adapter. Once the adapter is in place we thread in the probe. For the Trans Temp Gauge’s Electronic Transmission Temperature Sensor, we remove the Transmission Test Port Bolt and install the sensor into the transmission.
    Once all of the sensors have been installed, the sensor wires and boost line are run to the driver’s side firewall, keeping clear of any moving parts, and then into the Ford truck’s cabin. After adding all four gauges to the F-Series Pillar Gauge Pod, we proceed to install the pod which mounts to the factory A-pillar, making all necessary wire connections. This video will walk you through every detail of the process step-by-step and provide a complete breakdown of everything needed to install our F-250/F-350 F-Series gauges and pod.

All 7 Color Gauges come standard with ultra-bright analog LED displays, microprocessor-controlled stepper motor technology which allows for extremely accurate gauge readings and incredibly smooth needle movement, selectable 7 color LED through dial lighting, and an illuminated red needle that sweeps 270 degrees.

    How accurate is the fuel pressure gauge on the FPR since it’s a mechanical pump that runs off the cam which causes pulsating readings? Has anyone used it in this application as shown?

    Where does he pass through the firewall? Drilled a hole? How big and what size grommet?

    The only downside to the 4 gauge pod in the OBS ford trucks is that it interferes with the side sun visor operation.

      Well shit. I have a drop shelf on my visors. This is going to suck. And I just replaced my visors.

    Ok, what is the final size of that drill bit that you put into the manifold for the EGT sensor. Size "R" makes no sense.

      I have noticed that every one of these install videos are installing the gauges into trucks with automatic transmissions. As such they are running the wires into the cab thru the plate where the clutch master cylinder would go. That doesn't help much for us who have a standard transmission. I have a 1995 F350 5 speed and am installing a 3 pod setup with a boost, EGT, and fuel pressure gauge. After much back and forth here is where I drilled; on the inside under the dash there is a large cover where the steering linkage passes thru. On the Outside of that cover at about the 2 o'clock position is where I drilled thru (from the inside under the dash). On my truck there is a piece of matting there but it was easy to pull it out of the way and replace once I was through. It put the hole under the Clutch master cylinder. I used a step bit and was able to pass the conduit with the wires from my sensors in it. Hope this helps someone

    are you able to do this in a normal gas engine for a 1992 ford f150

    • @GlowShift
      @GlowShift  Před 8 měsíci

      Of course! You just wouldn't need the boost gauge but you could certainly choose another gauge to take it's place.

    Is there a way to find videos for your specific gauges? Not everyone got those 4 smh 🤦‍♂️. A water temp video would be nice. Doesn’t even show it in my instructions that came with them.

    I don't understand why everyone makes their obs Ford pods aim towards the dome light. My Autometer pods do the same thing. This is ridiculous. I like to see my gages face me, not the center roof of the cab.

    Hope you all realize 95% of people don't use letter and number drill bits. We use regular fraction sized.
