- Doug, what the hell?
The Nostalgia Critic, also known as Doug Walker, made a video "reviewing" Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End a few months ago. Why say that in quotations? Because his "review" is one of the worst pieces of garbage I have seen on this platform. Buckle up, because this review is one horrible mess...

This reminds me of Doug's "Review" of Pink Floyd's the Wall, the arguments he makes for the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, echoes the ones he makes here - runtime is too long, editing out important character development, gets angry when script gets into exposition, gets angry when the script deconstructs its narrative, cannot see tone shift, incapable of paying attention to significant plot points, pedantic to tiny flaws as ruining moments, and Doug trying to remake as fanfiction designed to appeal to him alone. I also really hate his condescending attitude for children, my brother and sister were children when these movies were in the cinema, we all saw Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter and Pirates of the Caribbean, and they enjoyed themselves despite violence and horror, besides, we all saw gorier films together and took it well, my siblings have tougher backbones than Doug Walker, he stopped being relevant when he brought back his character in 2014.
I honestly couldn’t have said it better myself
Wait... you watched _The Lord of the Rings_ as a kid? You didn't assume it was a boring grownup movie just from the PG-13 rating?
@@TheSEAempirehow do you feel about Lord of the Rings movies?
Nothing but praise, probably the greatest trilogy of films ever made.
@@ARCtheCartoonMaster I saw the return of the king with a friend of my brother who is no longer with us anymore
I don’t understand Doug’s criticism of this film having a jarring tonal shift. The first two films also started with very serious scenes. Not to mention At worlds end has some PHENOMENAL humor throughout its runtime, again, just like the previous two.
And having some dark moments even though other 2 films had dark moments and Disney had darker films.
I don't care, Pirates 3 is for me, the best blockbuster action adventure film Disney has ever come up with.
It's simply a epic film.
Any movie: has a scene that makes sense of and expands the plot
Nostalgia Critic: “AAAAH! A quiet moment, TAKE IT OFF SCREEN!”
Uh, Doug actually stated that a lot of films he like have quiet moments, and he enjoys those like every other scene. Just, BTW
@@thebluedanyube62then why have his character act like he hates them?😅
At this point, it's difficult to tell the difference between Nostalgia Critic and CinemaSins. Both of them have attention spans of a goldfish, both lie, manipulate scenes and taking scenes out of contexts to prove them wrong, and both have large fan bases that 99% agree with whatever they critique as fact instead of watching the show to see if they're telling the truth or not.
The 1% are the ones who create video to counteract their arguments.

This isnt a joke this is real lmao
I’m so baffled that Nostalgia Critic simply doesn’t understand what exposition is, despite using that as many main points of criticism.
I don't think that its that he dosn't understand exposition, its because he dosen't like too much exposition as he rather likes the show-don't-tell part of films, meaning he likes things being told in visual form and not too much over-explaining. (like Tim Burton's Batman and Who Framed Roger Rabbit which Doug views as two of his favourite films of all time)
@@samkresil6011 see I'd agree with you if there hadn't already been moments where he complains about visual cues of storytellings as well...there's no pleasing this guy and it explains why his movies are so bizarre

I have a theory that Doug walker aka the nostalgia critic is still living in 2007 2008
3:43 Yeah, like how Gladiator also started off with an unfinished script while in production until the actors involved had to provide some of their own changes to it and it yet managed to win an Oscar for Best Picture.
I also heard that Alien 3 also started filming without a finished script as well but I also heard that film wasn't well received and David Fincher even disowned it despite it being the first ever film he worked on.
I LOVE the Gore Verbinski Pirates Trilogy. Despite objective flaws of long runtime and arguably a lot of plot threads to keep track of with debatable payoffs, and some personal nitpicks I won't waste time with, these movies are near perfection. Great cast of unique badass, and sometimes oddball characters (primarily Johnny Depp, Bill Nighy, Geoffrey Rush, Tom Hollander, Kiera Knightley, Stellan Skarsgard, Kevin McNally, Lee Arenberg, Mackenzie Crook); a unique 18th century setting that blends the grounded historical world with the supernatural and occasionally silly tone; epically creative and ambitious action scenes; great VFX and character creations that have all aged well and are beyond creative; a unique blend of grit and epicness with some goofiness, wit, and edgy humor; and a subtle-ish theme of the tyranny and corruption of the supposedly "civilized world" versus the uncivilized world having messy cons of bloodlust and greed, but strong pros of living free. This trilogy is the whole package and will always be three of my favorite movies of all time.
Ranking:
1. POTC: The Curse of the Black Pearl (10/10)
2. POTC 3: At World's End (9/10) or (10/10)
3. POTC 2: Dead Man's Chest (8/10)
12:35 I think the ride sound effects were used to symbolise how the crew were travelling to a different realm of reality.
I’m so glad I came across this channel. I’ve made some videos criticizing bad reviewers too and I can’t stand when people just lie about movies to try and make themselves look smarter than the movie itself. When you had that little rant about how reviewers like Doug ruin film discussion, I totally agreed. I’m so tired of discussions about films being so empty. I love the channel, the video was great!
I can’t believe I used to like NC. I used to watch him as an edgy early 20 something guy around 10 years ago and after a while I just started fading off when I realized just how annoying he is and how (as you said) disingenuous he is. I’m glad you made these videos.
The one recurring criticism that bothers me the most in Doug's reviews of the Pirates films: these movies pretending to function as a fully realized, planned, and prepared film series from the start.
Look, I definitely take issue with some franchises being made without a clear step-by-step path. Especially when each film feels like not much changes and ends with a sequel beg (but what do I know I love Transformers 2007, Transformers 3, and Transformers 4). HOWEVER, I don't think all franchises need to be planned as franchises from the start. It's not wrong to do a couple little things called "improvising" and "being flexible." Sometimes it's okay to make a movie that's supposed to be standalone without concrete plans for sequels, but end up making sequels anyway. But only as long as people handle everything with care and take their time to make said sequels feel like necessary subsequent chapters in the ongoing story and continue the spirit of the original while evolving the characters and the world.
That's how I feel about the Verbinski Trilogy. I don't know all the actual details, but I'm sure that Verbinski and co. did their best figuring out how to make suitable sequels that blend well with the first film to make a coherent three-part story, and worked hard at improvising and being flexible with any hurdles, set backs, and creative idea blocks that came their way. And at the end of the day, these films feel like a functional trilogy. A whole story about a pirate trying to get his ship, groove, and idyllic life of freedom back while opening the minds of others, only to have his freedom in the ocean be threatened by a villain who controls the ocean, which leads to all pirates fighting against a tyrannical government group allied with supernatural forces in the name of FREEDOM!!!
Bottom line: franchises can be improvised as they progress after the first film and there's nothing wrong with that; and the Verbinski Trilogy is all about a pirate fighting for his ideal life of freedom against supernatural enemies and the evil's of a corrupt civilized society.
I find it very hypocritical of Doug to be bitching about the runtime of pirates of Caribbean 3 at world end being too long when he is a huge fan of lord of the rings and he made 3 hour long mini series based on his show he is being such a hypocrite in this review
On stranger tides is an alright movie, please cover Dougs future video on it. Ignore DTMNT though.
I am so glad for this series of videos. Not only do you make total sense with the points you make, but you also make me further appreciate and love this trilogy of films even more, and I'm saying this as someone who pretty much grew up with this trilogy.
15:00- Thank you. I've called him out on this type of joke, where it feels like he couldn't come up with anything, so he just inserts a clip from an unrelated film, which is really lazy. And when I do, people are always like 'No, that is hilarious! You just don't get it!'
Honestly, I think the idea of long run times is subjective. There are certain movies I think are too long, like the Transformers films, or It Chapter 2, and I think the reason why I didn't like it was because I didn't care. I don't care about the characters or story.
But if 3 hour runtimes are really that bad, why are Avengers Endgame, the two Avatar films, and Titanic the four highest-grossing movies of all time? Maybe those movies were successful because people did care, and they actually did pay attention. And aren't the Lord of the Rings films considered some of the best movies ever?
In my opinion, I don't care if a movie is too long, as long as I like the story, or think the scenes are as long as they should be, I can enjoy a long movie fine
Hi S.E.A what is your favourite movie of the trilogy mine is at World's end
Curse of the Black Pearl!
@@TheSEAempireDead Man’s Chest!
He says this movie has a tone shift that is distracting, as if he wasn't the one who said about the previous movie, that it starts way too seriously and suggested a rewrite to open it like a comedy. He's literally just criticizing the movies tone based on his own personal rewrites. Also Elizabeth not being pirate enough when the entire first movie was literally the set up of a highborn lady learning how to survive in the rough world surrounded alone by pirates...
Doug, look up from your phone once in a while to take actual notes I beg of you.
Also how in the hell are his skits still this painfully bad? I shouldn't laugh harder at a 20 second half effort opening skit from Half in the Bag then I do a skit with costumes, blocking and all the works. How is he still making 2009 era youtube comedy?
Doug is the Nostalgia Commentator, not an actual critic. I agree with you completely in what you say in these videos and points you make. He has no range or spectrum in understanding, self-awareness, or appreciation of various types of personality, especially with characters in works of fiction. It's just SOOO obvious that he claims to critique films, but all he does is comment on how things are done as he would prefer or as he would do them. If paying attention to what he says in his videos, his videos become more of a psychological self-portrait, more than anything else. If watching or being aware of the three movies he made and wrote, and how he directed everyone in them to act like himself, his narcissism become WAY more apparent and how his view of the world and characters and crafting a fictional story is so limited and restrictive.
I actually wouldn’t mind at least a video for On Stranger Tides. If not that, a video from you about the movie in general that’s not commentating on Doug Walker’s review. I’d love to know your thoughts on the movie since I’m personally mixed on it.
Also now after having seen this, I can safely say….
Confused Mathew’s review of At World’s End is worse. Way worse.
Pretty much Anything that confused Matthew does is worse than the nostalgia critic because as much I don’t agreed with Doug at least he try’s to come up with good points and he can be funny confused Mathew is a poor man version of the nc who takes worst parts of Doug and makes himself look like a fool in the process
This video is so cathartic ! At the very least I've seen a few Movie Reactors on CZcams who watched the pirate films, specifically At World's End in this case, and they all seemed to be well loved. They understood the characters, their motivations, and were even able to follow the story along pretty well despite most of them watching these films for the first time while also trying to give their own commentary. The comments for said videos are all pretty positive too, it's mostly people sharing what they liked about the film or admitting while they're able to see some flaws, they still enjoy Pirates of the Caribbean for what it is and the journey it takes us on. I've even seen ones where people actually cry or get shocked when Will is stabbed (or faking for views idk lol). If Will is such a quote, 'BoRiNg and uNiNterEsTIng character', then his supposed death shouldn't enlist that kind of response, even WHEN the CZcamsrs watching are aware that all Jack has to do is help Will stab the heart. Nostalgia Critic is already wrong by default when claiming the film's characters, tone, or story doesn't leave any impact due to trivial shit like runtime or lack of fighting or explosions every 2 minutes. These films are more than capable, especially At World's End, of garnering any kind of emotional response, and most importantly being a cohesive story. That's what makes these films so great. They can be silly, serious, adventurous, AND have a point. They all work to give each other levity or purpose. People like Doug Walker can never take that way, neither can the echo chamber of a fandom that bellows his every word.
For every "Nostalgia Critic's At World's End Review" that taits film discussions with dishonest, inaccurate, and uncharitable takes, there's always your go to movie reactors to broaden audiences, who are capable of viewing films for what they are without the 'aid' of bad faith criticism. Although some Reactors can also be guilty of this but I digress lol.
I don't understand why Doug has such a hate boner for the tonal shift and the main villain. Having a series get darker over time is pretty normal. Take the Harry Potter films/books. The first few movies were whimsical with a bit of a darker edge at times. By the time the Goblet of Fire came out, it gradually added darker themes to the point the last book contained some really messed up elements like: main character death, implied past grape (Voldemort's backstory) and torture. The Pirates franchise is no different. The first movie serves as a solid introduction the world, the second one introduces the grander plot and the "final boss" and the last one wraps everything up, including showing off how bad the East India Trading Company is. Plus, the main villains are literally British colonizers, what does he expect them to be like? Saturday morning cartoon villains?
It’s so ironic that Doug had a grudge against Bayformers for its action scenes, stereotypes, comedy and sexualizing female actors. If that’s the case, then why is he obsessed with mindless action the same way Michael Bay does?
@@prehistorichero2755Because the Transformers films are oversaturated in action. Action scenes need to be earned, and Bay fails to do so.
Bay's overuse of giant explosions made them boring. An action director managing to make explosions passe is doing something wrong.
@@sirhenrymorgan1187 Ironic Doug hates them despite that he demands oversaturated action.

Complicated movies aren't hard to understand if you pay attention to the contacts, His video triggered me so much and says Beckett does nothing yet also complained about the child hanging he kept pirates illegal and he also hung some kids and killed Elizabeth's dad which sets up Elizabeth's motivation and may I remind you he is the whole reason why pirates remained illegal? His death is satisfying to watch when you know everything Beckett has done
Doug's media literacy is stuck in 2012
So after watching all of your vids and looking back at his reviews, I definitely owe you an apology. I did feel like I never gave you a chance to explain your criticism.
I now start to remember that I have a big issue with the Nostalgia Critic too. I definitely didn't like his take on the Sailor Moon review, calling the main character "slutty and stupid". His review of Pink Floyd's the Wall isn't even a review at all, just a long boring skit. And I start to admit that I am beginning to see his egotistical side.
Honestly, it was James Rolfe of Cinemassacre I look up to the most because he takes about movies with a passion and delves deep into them more. This makes me wanna be a reviewer just like him.
So again, I am deeply sorry for giving you a bad impression of me and hope that I can leave things better between us from now on
Water under the bridge, it’s all good. I really appreciate that you heard out my arguments in full.
Yeah that’s why I made this series. I’ve known Doug has been a really bad faith critic for years now, but it never really bothered me since he would cover films I really don’t care about. But when talking about POTC becoems my side gig and he’s giving really bad faith arguments that people will parrot and perpetuate that these are bad films when I directly stand to grow my channel off of them? Yeah that’s when I drew the line. Like you mentionef James Rolfe who managed to grow and change and actually puts effort and thought into things, and even if I fundamentally disagree with him, I respect his stance enough because he normally has solid argumentation. But with Doug, he’s never learned, never grown, never done anything to further deepen his discussions and contribute anything of worth to the world of media discussion. I look at channels like LocalScriptMan who’s done more for the field of media discussion in under a year than Doug has done in 16 years, all the while genuinely improving in his craft. But nah, Doug is stuck in 2007 where At World’s End is a terrible film according to some boomers in the morning paper and dick jokes are the peak of comedy.
@@TheSEAempire I think the irony here is that while you put more context into the movies, you have about some thousand k subscribers here and Doug has like a million more than you ^^; Ridiculous huh?
Growing up I watched all the POTC and At worlds end has and will always be my favorite film , the story was better , there was a lot more at stake, everyone had their own plan and it works , At worlds end was darker and serous and to be it has one of the best final battles scenes I like it more then endgame it’s just all a good ending to the 3 main character’s story
Come to think of it, this review is actually quite reminiscent to another one of these Channel Awesome reviewers who is pretty much the English Nostalgia Critic (Film Brain) and while a lot of the time, he can definitely bear down bad movies, he also had to beat down a handful of good movies (which is still too much, and the fact that not enough people defend those movies, and At World’s End is just the tip of the iceberg) with his edge (at that time that was the early 2010s).
I have actually seen film brain review of pirates of Caribbean 3 at world end even I can say that review is better than the nostalgia critic review of it because at very least he tried explained what he did not like about the film and even another brought on channel awesome member that being Wesley who actually did like the film he himself admitted several times in his order reviews that people out who liked the movie
I can't believe that Doug would say that lord Becketts death is over the top and I don't like that Beckett death is the best villain death in Disney history and I don't care what people say
I thought Worlds end was great, his review of the film was not. Here's to you finishing these criticisms. Personally, i would like to see more, but thats after seeing other videos u have plans for the future.
I was going to suggest you continue analyzing Doug's takes on Stranger Tides and Dead Men Tell No Tales, but after this video I think you've suffered enough. Maybe you should analyze the old pirate show "Black Sails".
In my opinion, At World's End deserves to be the final Pirates of the Caribbean movie, because it feels like one. And again, I have no opinion on On Stranger Tides and Dead Men Tell No Tales, and even if you decided to do his response on the other two movies, I won't ask you to do it.
I clearly don't understand why Doug's criticizing exposition, the "not-so-fun" characters, or its dark tone regardless of whether or not it's important, while only mindlessly praise the action scenes and demands this needs to be "important", yet have a grudge against Michael Bay for his mindless action scenes, comedy, stereotypes and sexualizing his female actors. Don't get me wrong, I like Michael Bay's Transformers for its action scenes (for the most part), but I'm more of a fan of the live-action reboot series because they only focus the character development and storytelling, not just the action scenes. And don't get me wrong, Monster House scared me as a kid, but it's not because of the dark moments, but because it's a horror movie.
As a novelist writing a young adult science fantasy dinosaur novel, if it's critisized for its bad storytelling, I can agree with it, but if it's criticized for being 'too dark for children' and 'too much on human drama than action' while didn't pay attention what's important to the story, I'd scream in pure rage, because while there are scary themes, creature violence, fantasy action, and minimal blood, I'm not stupid enough to never reveal mature themes like this even when it's not too graphic, because I know kids can handle this, and this isn't about the action, it's about the characters and morals. Otherwise, it'll be nothing but a B movie.
This guy, Cinemasins, and Zaid Magenta murdered the concept of criticism.
I would put confused Mathew as someone who murdered the concept of criticism
Never liked how he tried to pass Lord Beckett off as a boring villain with no substance
I thought Beckett was a fantastic villain he was crafty cunning and almost always held the upper hand in any exchange he was a part
Does he still criticize the 4th and 5th movies? He should love those movies since they gave him what he wanted, dropping Will and Elizabeth and focusing entirely on Jack.
Pretty sure he said On Stranger Tides was better than At World’s End 😂
He’s a special kind of terrible critic.
@TheSEAempire How does someone think On Stranger Tides is better? It doesn't even feel like it fits with the trilogy. Does Disney not know they can make movies about Pirates and not be part of the PoC series.
This is the reason why I unsubscribed to Doug's channels. I love and understand Gore Verbinski's epic Pirate trilogy.
Hell yeah!
Continue the critisizing him, this is just too good to stop here
39:19 Yeah, that's what I thought it was always about until Doug just assumed that that the film itself was overly complicated.
The only parts I agree with Doug are the opening and climax of the movie. A serious, even grim, opening displaying the evils of the EITC is fine, but having a child being killed goes way, way too far. Like, wtf were they thinking??
As for the climax, I was disappointed the rest of the pirates and the armada did jack all. We go to all this effort assembling them, building up to this big last stand, a major sea battle would be a great way to cap off this trilogy.... And they do nothing. I'm not asking for much, just having them fight in the background of the storm would've been enough, instead of... just sitting there. Really, the more I think about it, the more disappointed I get about that missed opportunity.
All that said, I don't think these are bad films. Just good-to-decent films that aren't as good as the first Pirates movie, which imo is a masterpiece of blockbuster cinema.
Imagine if NC actually tried to criticize complaining about the movie's issues with script, characters or acting instead of doing it himself.
I feel like DMTNT's review is worth critiquing because of the awful way he tries to defend it while ignoring so many of it's major issues.
Defending DMTNT is a fool’s errand IMHO. It’s more worth it to find videos that actually try to improve the movie than watching someone just say “MOVIE BAD”.
@@DCMarvel2009 I mean, it's not even really about defending DMTNT. The reason why Doug's review is so bad is because it glosses over so many of the movie's isues and it's attempts at defending it fall flat on their face. But yes, I will agree that watching peopel rewrite the movie is quite entertaining.
33:08 Also, if Doug questions why didn't Calypso use lightning to destroy ships, I'm no meteorologist, but lightning doesn't destroy 18th century ships in a single bolt. Yes, they do cause collateral damage, but unless Calypso is Zeus or something, there are no reports of lightning obliterating ships, even wooden ones. Besides, if Calypso can control the oceans, she can evaporate water to create a storm without controlling it.
21:53 I feel you. I feel the same was regarding the Star Wars prequels.
It’s horrible. Like I used to be a dick with my criticisms of the prequels, but I was at least able to think about my criticisms and I came around to admit they’re great. Meanwhile, Doug will have a shitty take from 2007 that he STILL stands by, with zero thought about if it makes sense or not.
I got friends who insist that Doug's videos are meant as satire... Idk if that's true but I sure as hell hope they are.
A satire of what I wonder.
03:12-From what I remember from the forums at the time, the dominant opinion of At Worlds End back in 2007 was that it was better than Dead Man’s Chest but not as good as Curse of the Black Pearl.
I just remember the theater I originally saw it in received a standing ovation from the audience once the credits rolled, so I figured it was popular and didn’t realize it was contentious until I went online a few days later.
This was infinity war before infinity war
Pirates of the Caribbean dead man’s chest was the infinity war before infinity war pirates of the Caribbean at world end is the endgame before endgame
Very well said. Those movies were and still are ones of my favourite action films and seeing them so unfairly bastardized was infuriating. Also when watching them as a kid i didn't understand some more mature aspects, like realtionship dynamics but it absolutely didn't stop me from loving the film. Acting and dialogues are so good and entertaining that i would enjoy it even with more run time, so for me crying about its length is absolute bs
(Edit - typo)
ok... these Doug clips are making me more annoyed than usual, at world's end was my favorite of the trilogy, and at this point doug feels like he is trying less than the videos about the first 2 movies
EDIT: also something doug ignores is that becket does stand out, compare it to other characters,
davey jones is a wrathful sad tentacle man,
sao feng is self important,
tia dalma is weird and mysterious,
jack is... jack,
norington is an honorable man constantly torn between his duties and what he desires,
bill turner is a beaten downtrodden once proud man,
becket is a professional businessman who does not care who he manipulates and destroys,
this is objectively a distinct well fleshed out character, it's doug complaining because he didn't like the character, i don't care for robert de niro that much but i wouldn't call him a bad actor, and most of his work is good, i would never behave like doug, like my opinion is objective fact
19:19 THIS BALD HEADED DEMON! this scene isn't just exposition, it's becket doing what he perceives to be sort of a business transaction while jack plans his way out of the situation and gets information out of becket
EDIT2: 30:50, wow umm, i get tentacle face a whole lot more now, i'd be pretty annoyed as well, if i were stood up by that

Next Doug will be saying Nacho Libre is a bad wrestling movie because the protagonist has only one victory in the entire movie.
Have you read the Tim Powers novel On Stranger Tides? I ask in case you do continue reviewing the reviews.
Seems odd that nostalgia has an issue with the length, saying the over writing is out of control and has scenes that can be cut…yet he made “To Boldly Flee” which is about 40 minutes longer than pirates 3, and had the same issues he’s complaining about but much worse

You ever seen Film Brain’s review of At World’s End?
As someone who's watched Doug a long time and isn't shy to point out his flaws despite enjoying alot of his stuff. I will say he's gotten at least somewhat better about not making his opinions come off as objective fact, that is unless it's a movie he strongly dislikes in which it becomes pretty stupidly obvious he's got a bias against it and wants people to agree that it's trash. Not to mention these Pirate reviews feel like every generic argument I've ever heard for the first three movies.
I'd like to thank you for actually being informative with these. Always nice seeing content creators with real effort and are not try to be distracting with back yard effects. Scratch that last bit, back yard effects are charming, he's just cheap.
As far as I can remember, my first memories were watching Mr. Enter and Nostalgia Critic during my undergrad college years. All they seemed to do is rant, whine, or do nothing but provide negatives, rather than constructive criticism. They didn't even go in depth about behind the scenes or something. Eventually, I found positive or constructive critics such as NICKtendo, Employee a Million, Shadow Streak, Kitty Monk, etc. Some of them were even my inspiration for my channel. But that's just me.
Yeah I’m a big fan of NICKtendo, he’s pretty good.
I could listen to you go in on this guy all day. He's hating on 3 amazing films for dumb reasons, just because he can't comprehend what's going on. Love the videos, wish you would critic him more, although I'm sure it isn't good for your blood pressure
I'm legitimately curious now if this Doug guy is annoyed at the alphabet because A Isn't directly attached to C, the fact you have to go through B first must make him lose all semblance of what he was doing. His complete lack of cognitive competence was truly shocking.
Nostalgia Critic can only be “a good critic”. Thats also a stretch as well. When it comes to movies and franchises he actually cares about. Nostalgia Critic is only enjoyable if you take his content. As pure comedy and nothing else. Very little of his “criticisms” are vaguely accurate of the movie.
30:18 even Ray Charles could see that and he doesn’t know jack about pirates of the Caribbean

No zaid magenta aka misanthro pony is so much worse than nostalgia critic but than again confused Mathew is than both of them
@@henrymockingbird9645Yeah, yeah, Zaid was a massive wondertart who threw his friendships and restraint in the trash but did he protect two rapists on his team or keep child predators in his server after it was exposed? Because Doug Walker did the former and Rosa Rey Ramsey and StarGiant Productions did the latter.
@@MagmaPaintDoug walker is still a better person than zaid ever was zaid zaid was toxic piece of shit who he disrespected his reviewer friends and his audience at every turn and insulted by calling them braindead idiots
@@MagmaPaint I say they are both bad pick you poison either way
[*]Ok, I get all your points, but you also skip scenes he talks about! I don't defend him, I think he IS in the wrong, but you shouldn't skip some of these scenes. That's all. I agree with most of your points though. 👍[*]
The SEA I absolutely agree with your video it makes more logic with reasoning about nostalgia critics rather dumbfounded video with mulipitating his audience like cinemasins you should check out the b3rdman good creator who explains videos like this as his format
Why do people hate Doug Walker or channel awesome again?
Is it cause they fell off or people looked back at his videos to see that they were all in bad faith.
when i was little, this was my favorite in the trilogy. so it's really funny to me that the scenes of dialogue i could sit through, understand, and enjoy at 8 yrs old are the ones this grown man won't stop complaining about💀
Oh yes please, I’d like to see you do it’s tails acrylic Pirates of the Caribbean 4 5 please
Can You Do Pirates 4 Please?
This was fun can you do more Doug
You should totally play and Review Pirates of the Caribbean At World's End on Xbox 360 or PS2 both are different
Welcome to Shinobi 03’s world

And even some Disney films also can be darker.
2:45 The *what* of women? I can't quite make that out.
This is a love letter to Nostalgia Critic's 'review' of Pirates of The Caribbean 3.
And the fact this dude made fun of jack about the heard trials when their was no evidence and he himself said he didn’t watch the trial shows what type of man he is.
“Light-hearted criticism”, huh… define “light-hearted” 😂
And before anyone buries me, I’m not defending Doug… I’ve seen all 3 parts and agree his takes are dumb at best. Just trying to understand why the OP is angry if his rebuttal is supposedly “light-hearted”
Well I have no hatred for Doug, I just find his content very dishonest and most of my responses to his joke criticisms were memes in and of themselves. The only part where I was really pissed was with him actively lying, that shit isn’t cool at all.
the sea i would like see you debunk the other Manly because i love you to see debunk Doug gets what wrong in a there ways bad movies
I honestly don't know how someone could not understand the plot of the movie, if everything is clearly explained and shown. I get you cannot like the film, but lying about it making no sense? Oh, and one important note: just because the plot makes sense, doesn't mean that the movie is good. I feel like NC bases his opinions on a dated content.
Wait Pirates of the Caribbean at worlds end has fans, it’s so weird I remember people despising the movie when it came out. Seriously anyone here likes at worlds end tell me why I’m legit curious
Yeah… there are plenty of fans. Most of the criticisms people have are just nonsense anyways.
Doug's one of those Gen Xxer bugmen who'll hate in the Star Wars prequels, Indy 4 and the Pirates movies but will fawn over the absolute latest comic book movie bilge. Super hero movies and comic books are for little kids who can't read.
Doug walker give people Actually are gen x a bad name because I pretty sure gen xers would move on from hating on Star Wars prequels Indy 4 and the pirates movies he is in more gen x red letter media kind of way in he Is a sad 40 something loser in most of recent reviews are not reviews The ugliest show cases of midlife crisis
I'm sorry I'm so late. I have been busy for a month.
I have said this before, but I don't expect you to remember me, because I am only one of many commenters:
I am kinda a fan Nostalgia Critic, but I didn't like his reviews of the Pirates movies. I liked your reviews of his videos, with your second review being a lot better than your first, especially because you learned from your mistakes, and improved as a Nostalgia Critic reviewer. Now I will talk about this review. 😎
I like this review more than the second (so far), I have only watched half of it yet. I don't have that much to say about it (yet at least). But I didn't really like Chow Yun-fat's character in the movie, mostly because he was overhyped before the movie came out, and he dies so early in the movie. But that is subjective. 😊
I will also defend the pop-culture joke with Scar from Lion King. I found it funny, that is my whole defense of that. I also found the rapping dog from one of the animated Titanic movies funny. It's subjective. 😊
I have, however, noticed that you laugh at some of the Critics jokes, jokes that I don't find funny at all, which I guess is kinda funny, because I am the one who is supposed to like him, and you are supposed to dislike him. But I guess we both have to be realistic, at least sometimes. But that is subjective.😉😉
Jokes aside it wouldn't be a very reliable review, if you just pointlessly hated on the Critic through the whole review, so it does make it more reliable that you actually do agree with him sometimes, or at least that you are on his side sometimes. But that is subjective.😊
I, btw, personally would like to see you review 4 and 5 too. If you don't defend the movies, then maybe you can agree with him on them, or maybe both agree and disagree. 😊
Edit:
After having seen the full review, I don't have much to add really.
But I do understand your hatred of this review (the Critic's) a lot better. And I guess you are making it more clear to me, just how much of a manipulative liar the Critic can be at times, and I honestly am losing respect for him , but I still am a fan of his. 😅
I already stayed a fan during the Change the Channel controversy and the The Wall controversy. Honestly I should have stopped being a fan after the god awful To Boldly Flee movie of his. But here I am still being a fan of his.😅
I tried so hard on liking this film. But I still don't understand the plot. Dead man tell no tales is still my favourite POTC film. That's just my opinion.
Well what didn’t make sense to you about it?
Noice ashen ship style one of the best ship sets in the game and some of the things that he is saying makes no sense like what 😅
Call me crazy but it they kinda combned 4,5 together to get a good movie you know
0:52 For the record, I was referring to what you said in your initial response to Doug Walker, when you said one can only make criticism from an objective standpoint, as opposed to how one personally feels about a given work, and that it's a tad hypocritical for you to then judge Doug's jokes from a personal standpoint. You know, as opposed to explaining how they're poorly timed, why the joke doesn't make sense, or anything that goes into crafting an actually well thought-out joke.
Also, if you're going to show screenshots of CZcams comments, you might want to zoom in with the keyboard shortcut Ctrl-Plus (or Command-Plus, if you're on a Mac) - that way, the text will come in nice and clear, instead of looking all pixelly like it's a video from 2008.
y'know, I's love to see you rip apart Cinemasin's pirates videos. Dude deserves it more then Doug IMO.
It's because he has the mind of a brick who can only handle action and nothing nuance😅
its just good buisness
he is the cutler beckett of reviews
i watched alittle of his review then i saw his stupidity and quit watching by halway into dead mans chest. and went to watch yours instead. you pointed out exactly what i i was thinking up to the point where i quit watching. the guy complains about stuff because he cant watch the movie. no wonder the films he made sucks so much the guy has no idea what stuff is good and by default has no clue how to make shit himself.his movie kickassia was the worst pile of garbage i have ever seen and after watching that i never took his criticisms seriosly again.
27:12 Is this video implying that Joe Biden is Jack Sparrow?
“Where’s all the chocolate chocolate chip gone?”
