Jakub Józef Orliński, Xavier Sabata and Philippe Jaroussky sing the aria "A dispetto d'un volto ingrato" from Händel's opera Tamerlano. Who sings it best?
Once again JJ lights the world with his undoubted magical talent. It warms the heart touches the soul and fires up all the human senses! Sheer heaven thank you JJ
Definitely Jakub Józef Orliński, for the agility of his voice, the decorations he makes to finish off the musical piece and the contrast between flat voice and vibratos (trills and twitter) characteristic of the baroque period.
Its all a matter of tastes, world class performances from all...JJO for me. Though I'd have loved to have seen Jaroussky...at the end of this performance...my heart was racing just listening... !!
It is fairly difficult to choose one... Each of them has his own style, energy, qualities. Maybe would I like Xavier Sabata’s dramaric lyricism, Philippe Jaroussky’s sensitive romanticism and Jakub Józef Orliński’s quality of something I would not call shyness, but a soft, delicate emotion in his way. Thanks a lot for sharing.
Feelings of anger are coming best across with Philippe, I also like his voice best. There is something boyish, clear and exciting about his approach. His frills are best too. I just love to hear his virtuosity, brilliant.
@@cliffgaither Hi, I’ve just listened to this piece sung by Derek Lee - what a revelation! What I like about JJ Orlinski and Derek Lee is that they don’t sound like female sopranos, but my heart belongs to Jacub!
@@carlamaddocks9796 :: Hi ! What's so great about counter-tenors is that they give us a variety of choices / vocal sounds. You like Jacub & that's perfectly legit. !
1.- Orlinski 2.- Xavier Sabata 3.- Philippe Jaroussky.
No matter how much I like Jakub, here he seems to be struggling through at some moments. Xavier sounds richer and deeper. And Philippe makes the impression of a weightless butterfly fluttering from one flower to another. (My humble opinion)
Donc: 1. Jakub, 2. Xavier. ( pardonnez-moi, Cher Philippe😘)
Jaroussky's is my favorite of the three, though I really enjoyed Sabata's as well. They're all quite talented; I really enjoyed the body in Jaroussky's fast notes, and Sabata's B section start was breathtaking
Orliński hands down. Jaroussky sounds thin here, can't quite figure out why ; and Sabata has a veiled quality that serves him well elsewhere, but not here.
I mean doesn't he always sound a little thin though? That's just his voice to me. Lol I do like him well enough though. His coloratura has always been excellent and precise.
In these three, definitely 1. Sabata - for the quality of his voice 2. Orlinski 3. Jaroussky - I feel that in some of the more robust, intense airs, such as this one - he is unable to put across that necessary emotion and intense energy. He sounds too light, airy, joyous - when this is a dramatic aria that needs body and intention. He sings other types of répertoire wonderfully though - a master.
I listened with high-quality headphones and I have to say that a comparison is impossible for me. The recording quality and the acoustic environment are too different to be able to make a serious comparison. In addition, it does not do justice to the extraordinary artists.
Pour moi, IL a une voix superbe. IL est unique. J'aime quand chante clasique et hip hop. C'es un artist complete. IL peut fer avec sa voix ¢a qu'il veux.
Unfortunately Jaroussky took a too fast tempo which made his voice not as full as it could had been and should be. Maybe this is choice he willingly made but my heart is really not buying that almost too private version and God knows how much I do love Philippe's voice. Sabata as usual is proposing something absolute new and unexpected. He's revisiting the way we would expect this piece to be interpreted. It's very surprising and intriguing. For this risk taken he's got of respect and interest. However his vocal experimentations keep us to really connect to this piece all along to the end. Orliski version is really to clean and perfect. God knows I do love his angelic tone but there's a lack of crazyness in his whole performance. Something is really missing here... "Un je ne sais quoi" some people would call as bringing salt to the table. Something maybe less academic in its expression, more spicy in its delivery... To me none of them really nailed it but if I had to make a choice just between those three performers, I would pick Orliski once again for the fullness of his voice and tone.
SABATA all the way… it’s version is paced. He also lets the orchestra shine you can almost feel every instrument on the piece and his pronunciation is remarkable
The best!!
Eindeutig J. J. Orlinski!
Once again JJ lights the world with his undoubted magical talent. It warms the heart touches the soul and fires up all the human senses!

Józef Orliński!
I like all three! They have all a wonderful voice - everyone for himself!
Definitely Jakub Józef Orliński, for the agility of his voice, the decorations he makes to finish off the musical piece and the contrast between flat voice and vibratos (trills and twitter) characteristic of the baroque period.
Jakub Józef Orliński
Jakub for ever❤️❤️
Jakub, always Jakub with his warm voice. Every day😍
Xavier Sabata.
Fortunately there are a lot of great contertenors at the moment but Jaroussky’s voice transports me to another dimension so he is my favourite
Jakub - the chosen one.

Jakub-nasz narodowy Skarb!😌
JJ Orliński wins with his warm voice, the incredible "sfumature" in chiaroscuro, the perfect agility and the Passion!

BRAWO PANIE JAKUBIE !!!
Orlinski. Sabata. Jaroussky
while jaroussky and sabata sound like they nail the pronunciation/accent, orlinski sounds like he knows what the lyrics mean
J.J. Orlinsky is the best 🙉
Jakub Józef Orliński, Xavier Sabata and Philippe Jaroussky, wonderful!!!!!
Philippe Jaroussky! His interpretation is so light and agile! I prefer it (even though Orlinki's interpretation is beautiful, and very soft).

Amazing Jaroussky really, but Orlinski wins my preference.
all are perfect!!!

My favorite is Ragin, but out of these 3 I would probably say Orlinski.

I wanted to mention Derek Lee but didn't have the nerve. He's the best.

Kuba the best!
Jaroussky sounds like a female. Great technique, super other aspects of singing. My choice is Orlinski for the full expression of emotions.
Jakub Jozef Orlinski is the best one !
Orliński JJ is the best
So difficult to make a choice in this case... Perhaps Jakub and Sabata.
Jaroussky & Orlinsky: honourable draw!

Jaroussky. Hands - down!
Orlinski has the voice to focus on, wonder about, and be transported. By the others, sadly, this is the Kookaburra Song
Jakub definetely

Xavier Sabata for sure.
Sabata for me. I prefer the warmer colour of his voice.

Jaroussky!!!!!

Jaroussky, for sure ! The clearest and most agile voice of our time !

Jaroussky has no timbre for this sort of music. The singer needs "the balls" to sing it with character.
@@user-xs6hi9tr5b Do you know where you can put these balls?

Xavier Sabata
