@@sarahdixon6011 right I hate it when people say "omg he's an angel" like no. No, he is a human being who trained his voice for years to get to this level. Ofc everyone has its own starting timbre of voice and tessiture but you can work on it. It feels like people underappreciate his hard work by calling him a work of god

I was watching a documentary about Handel and the countertenor he wrote for and he never really got along with him. I think that's where these ridiculously hard pieces come from.

Hours? More like years of honing his skills and weeks if not moths rehearsing this piece alone. It’s considered one of the most difficult altotenor pieces to bring to fruition

Very good perfomance. I see many people asking theirselves, if Handel hated singers. Well he didn't. Don't forget that many of these pieces were wrote for "Castrati". They were male singers, who were castrated as children in order to develop a unique voice. They were used a lot in catholic tradition to emulate "angel's voices". They had the ability to sing like a soprano and could manage perfectly such complex parts. What this guy reaches with his natural voice is anyway really goooood!

Quelle expressivité ! Ce chant semble étonnamment "couler de source" , sans effort apparent ! Un don divin que Jakub a su merveilleusement travailler : contrairement à tant de prestations de "bel canto" où les numéros d'équilibristes sont attendus "au tournant" par un public convenu , l'art de Jakub n'est jamais vulgaire, tape-à-l'œil, prétentieux et cette apparente simplicité touche évidemment même les "non initiés"...

P A Well, he did study at Juilliard with Joyce Di Donato and has won at least 2 major competitions.
Joyce DiDonato is singing Handel’s Agrippina at the Met Opera 2019-2020 season. Jakub has not made his debut there yet.. I think he is ready!

Là c'est pareil : il se met en état de produire une vraie colère avec ses expressions faciales et + pour en tirer les meilleures performances vocales .

Really impresive interpretation! I loved the timbre (and I'm not usually much of a fan of countertenor timbres), but even better is the firm technique and the clarity and accuracy of the pitch and of the fioriture. He never shrieks, blurs the lines nor forces the voice.
Homoclassicus I like him too... He just released "Mea tormenta, properate" with the CZcams version only being about three minutes long, but the Apple Music version sounding much better and around six minutes long.
Apparently, some of these CZcams critics feel this is the medium for criticizing his abilities...

I've never been an opera fan, even though I listen to nothing but classical. Now that I've discovered counter tenors Im a fan. I cannot handle the female soprano tendency to shriek and oversing every piece. You wouldn't even know there were words sometimes. It's just trills vibrato and screeching. Now Im a fan.
Now I can see why these parts were written for men.
@@wmnoffaith1 : Interesting comment. I too cannot handle the shrieking of sopranos, but have always thought the problem was with my hearing as everyone else seems to enjoy them - I cannot bear them. Listening to Mr Orlinski’s counter tenor is, however, a total joy. I love hearing him, every single time. Glad there are others like me with regard to opera and sopranos.

Comme le suggérait quelqu'un ici je ne sais pas si Haendel était très en colère quand il a écrit cette pièce quasiment impossible à chanter, surtout d'une façon aussi convaincante , aussi spectaculaire dans les hauts et les bas, dans les trilles, les expressions et tout et tout, mais Orlinski l'a fait et c'est pour moi non seulement une performance unique mais en plus c'est fascinant, magnifique, étonnant de naturel, et ça parait tellement, mais tellement facile pour lui ! La grosse colère de Haendel a trouvé son écho dans ce chant, personne ne la traduira mieux, jamais ! Bravo l'artiste !!.
Quand je regarde les commentaires, à cette époque on s'emerveillait de SA VOIX. Bien plus que son physique ou ses expressions....
