In this video, I forge a coffin handle in the shape of an inverted Celtic cross. This project utilizes foundational blacksmithing techniques, such as twisting, punching, cutting, drawing out and upsetting.

It was still quite common to rent coffins back when that one was made, so it may actually be a used coffin. It is still common for caskets to be rented for funerals today if the person is going to be cremated.

Another awesome vid. Couldn't help but laugh at the intro, first thought was "when thak man's the forge straight through the night." Really liked the choice of brass rivets, very nice touch of bling but not too decorative. My initial idea would have been to have the long leg of the crucifix wrap around the ring to act as a hinge, then have ears on the ring either side of the leg of the crucifix to push against either the bottom layer of the crucifix or on the coffin itself. Couldn't really follow your plan until the end but it came together awesomely!

Quick question, where do you get all your rivets from? Brass, steel or otherwise.

@THAK have you heard "Crystal Ann" by ANNIHILATOR? I think you may enjoy it much. You have probably already heard it but it was a new song for me.honestly even tho I have been aware of the band for decades but never heard all that much, not enough to be a fan or not. Oh I'm still waiting to see your video about your love of metal. Whos your favorite bands, favorite songs, do you play any instruments? I play drums myself and have always loved metal music and metal in what it facilitated for humanity, and how it brought us out of the caves. And my grandfather started as a welder, became a salesman, traveled the world, then when the company started to nose dive, he bought out the president of the companies majority shares, and then proceeded to turn it all around while not taking a paycheck and then retired look up OGDEN welding systems. Anyway I LOVE METAL but not as much as you do i can see and admit. You sir are definitely dedicated. Keep it going plz and thank-you.

I have never listened to them either...I am a fan of Exciter from the same place and era...I will check them out. I do not play any instruments...wish I did but I have my hands full with my other pursuits. I will eventually do the video you request...just very swamped with the stuff currently on my plate...patience grasshopper
