      How does invoices work and the time to get paid ? Do the pay for you hotel up front or afterwards?

    • @danieltheadjuster
      @danieltheadjuster  Před rokem

      @@gt4real377 We bill the Insurance carrier full price for the service we complete based on arranged pricing from them. When the bill is paid, it goes to the firm, who then takes out 40% for themselves and gives us the rest. We pay our taxes from that amount. Hotel and expenses are all of our responsibility and you pay those as they are incurred. The firm pays every two weeks for work completed and turned in. CAT work pays more, so there is plenty of money for hotels.

    • @danieltheadjuster
      @danieltheadjuster  Před rokem

      No, the hotel, food, travel, or all your responsibility. The good thing is, is that catastrophe work considers the extra expenses that we will incur, so the fee schedule is higher. It always pays off.

    I have my Indiana license. We’re looking at a above average hurricane season. I just had my first child. So im sad to leave and go out but Im giving her a different life style than I had. Im a residential independent adjuster. My neighbor told me about this. They made 47k in one month. This is big money more than what people know it’s absolutely ridiculous on how much you can make in hurricane season. I got a call back already to get deployed. I’m on 2 roster. The other pays better. You can become rich an have plenty of time to have with family after you come home. I’m so happy I did this

    Credit vs cash:
    Why wouldn't you use the credit card first, WITH the cash backup to pay that bill to settle back to 0 and restart? You earn better premiums on the credit cards.
    Also, take cash with you. There is a chance that there is no power or internet in places that you'll need: food/gas/misc. Those will only be accepting cash.
    Thanks for the vids.

There was 22 people in the class 3 are currently working the difference they paid for the training for the Xactimate 1 cert and they also paid for the state pre-licensing exam you have to be willing to invest in your education if you truly want to succeed in this field or any other. A friend was telling me about this kinda work, he was looking at the CAT part of it but will never get past the "LOOKING" part. On the other hand, I'm a heavy equipment operator/ foreman which I like except for the dust, mud, grease, and by the hour. I'm also a triple amputee that doesn't get a disability check and been working every day like that for the past 17 years. I'm 50 now I still have my knees and elbow so I still climb ladders and walk through rough terrain every day. I was wondering about the automotive side of it and how hard is it after you get the fundamentals completed to find work as an independent? And what are the cons of doing automotive?

    • @danieltheadjuster
      @danieltheadjuster  Před 2 lety +1

      Thank you so much for watching my videos. Being disabled has got to be tough, but the auto adjusting side is a terrific fit for you. I have seen disabled people work for State Farm as an independent adjuster, in the auto industry. Desk adjusting can make you about $100,000 a year, and they are very accepting of people with disabilities. This is a position that you could do well into your old age. I knew a guy who was 90 that was doing this job.

    • @danieltheadjuster
      @danieltheadjuster  Před 2 lety +2

      Dustin:
      There are many conferences but not all are necessary. I could only recommend a couple that I went to in the past. Alacrity, Wardlaw, and Allcat. My stipulations to go are limited to 2 goals. How many CE hours are they offering for my State and how many classes will actually benefit my resume? As far as where they are, what events they are doing, food, etc, these are irrelevant to me. Use this time to build your knowledge, gain CE hours and get a certification or two. Hope this helps.

      Hey Greg, sounds like you’re on the right path. Check out some of my other videos. I have gone over some of the main parts of a house that you need to know for inspections. Otherwise the best thing to do is look on CZcams and search for remodeling videos. This will help you see the inside of the house as if it was being built. You pretty much need to know behind the walls of a house in order to write an estimate. Hope this helps.

    • @danieltheadjuster
      @danieltheadjuster  Před 2 lety +2

      You definitely want to have Internet available through your cell phone making it into a hotspot. I actually write everything at home. Inspect in the morning, done by noon, then come home and write till 7. This has worked out perfectly for me.
      I do the same thing on a catastrophe. I inspect 5 homes, back to the hotel by 1 or 2, write till midnight.

    @danieltheadjuster Hello Daniel! Thank you for your video. I’m a Florida Resident and currently have my All Lines Adjusters License 6-20 I love the property industry as I have worked for a TPA now over 3 years I in fact train our newer colleagues that come aboard with us on Xact Analysis, (Claims Connect aka CoreLogic/Symbility) you probably have heard of XA but maybe not so much of CoreLogic. Anyhow, I have not yet actively worked with my adjusters license but ready to pursue it. I have been looking for good beginners training for Xactimate in fact my company provides some of them but I have not come across a good beginners one yet. Do you have any suggestions for a “beginner” but with experience (if that makes any sense at all) on where I can begin? Learn how to write estimates etc.? Thank you again for the post!!

      Taylor, thanks for your comment. And yes, I know CoreLogic very well. In fact, I was using Symbility for several years.
      As far as the new adjuster course, I would look into the firms. Alacrity, formally, Worley, had some really great training courses for New Adjusters. I took one and was very pleased. There are a lot of firms that are doing this now. The good thing is that once you are trained with them, they are more likely to deploy you.

      As an Independent Adjuster, you make your own schedule. The claims come in pretty regularly by email and you can schedule those however you would like to schedule. If you need time off, don’t schedule a claim on that day. Unfortunately if you are bombarded with Claims during the busy season, then your vacation time may need to be postponed until the fall and spring. Generally, I takeoff time whenever I need it.

      The Carrier makes the fee schedule, so it is different for each insurance company. Check out this video. czcams.com/video/kvuSnIcYNww/video.html it will explain a lot. Expenses are all of your responsibility but there is plenty of money on CAT deployments for expenses.
