The most brief and complete explanation. Thank you 🙏
Thanks for the Vid. I installed a unit from Aliexpress. Looks exactly the same. Only problem has been the steering wheel controls. There is no Mode button on the stereo. On yours (or anyone else) did the mode work? I was able to get into the factory settings as well with a code I foiund on youtube but still cant get the mode to work. When I program it in to anything else the stereo does weird things with the volume up and down. I can verify you can get almost the same system for about $100 shipped from ali as of now. So far working well. Tip. make sure you get the 68ohm resistor and not a 68k like I did at first.
Thanks for the video.
I am just installing a very similar one. I just forgot the resistor because i have no mounting instructions. I'll fix it tomorow.
Many options to setup (GPS / Front and rear Cam). Really good stuff at a low price.
Thanks! Yeah, they need to mention that in the wiring diagram. But a 68 Ohm 1/4 Watt resistor will do the trick.
@@michaelblacktree
If only I had a complete wiring diagram... Only one for the rear camera. Hopefully, wires are tagged.
I don't see why anyone would install a stereo like this instead of getting an android auto or apple carplay stereo. That being said I still appreciate the dash teardown part, I needed that for my installation.
This one does have android auto. But it's pretty low quality. After owning it for a year, I don't think I would recommend it.
A screw fell out of Mom's Camry when the glovebox was open. I needed to remove both bottom trim pieces for the sill, the front trim pieces, and all of the trim pieces on the bottom half of the dash to replace that screw.
The two "missing" screws are not missing as they are not necessary. The bottom plastic is secured with the two original metal screws. The unit itself is secured with those yellow clips you transplanted. The two connect plastic pieces are held in place via the 2 plastic 'hinge'; they hold and not for securing.
the old reach-around works every time!
hehe 😎
Nice video~
thanks!
Your Prius video is the first video I’ve seen where the touch screen has a total of 4 buttons, two on each side. Mine is also a 2006 Prius but other videos I’ve seen have 3 buttons on one side of the screen instead of 2.
I’m happy to purchase the 68ohm connector through your affiliate link but I don’t see any links. Did you post it somewhere?
UPDATE: I'm removing the product link, because I don't feel comfortable supporting this product anymore. I will leave the video up, because it still contains useful info.
NOTE: You don't need a 5 Watt resistor! I think 1/4 Watt should work. Sorry about that.
Some things that will help with the install:
Dual USB Outlet -- amzn.to/3nWAIb4
Interior Trim Tool Kit -- amzn.to/42yTTa4
Informative video,we just reached out to you via email for inquiring a product review, hope hear from you soon.
thanks!
thank you so much for this video!! Could you tell us where you got that dual USB module you replaced the lighter with?
Thanks! There's an Amazon link in the pinned comment.
Thank you Mr Blacktree... i am hoping seicane has a tesla style with a larger screen that can swivel
Thank you very much for this hi level instructive vidéo. Is it possible to install a front camera and Bird view using 4 cameras ( by adding a camera on each external miroir ) ? Is this device equipped with DAB+ radio ?
I'm not sure. I haven't connected any cameras to the radio yet.
Thank you for making this video! I am looking into replacing my radio in my '07 Prius, and thinking about getting this Seicane radio specifically since it has the option to buy an OBDII link with it. I was wondering if you could do a more in depth review on the radio itself? Showcasing all of its functions like carplay/android auto, customizablity, and how the OBDII works with it? Again, thank you very much for this video!
I never use the Android Auto, and never was able to get the ODB2 thing to work. So uh, yeah... 😒
Bonjour ,
Hello, possible to use graphic consommation and electric motor schéma like on original screen to this autoradio? Or use Android application like hybrid assistant? Thank you
I have no idea.
I just finished installing this right now. Took me 2.5 hours. I kept the cars factory camera which shows on the upper screen. I also had the issue with the top of the bezel sticking out. Were you able to figure something out to have it sit flush? I had trouble programming the MAP, INFO and MIC buttons (top right of steering wheel). Did you have issues with these?
My car doesn't have navigation, so it doesn't have those buttons. As for the bezel, I don't know of an easy fix. If it bolted to the side brackets like the stock radio, you could adjust it. But it snaps into the dash, using the tabs for the bezel trim. So there's no adjustment. IMO it's a bad design.
Exact same issue with the face unit not being completely flush. Any DIY ideas how to resolve?
There's no easy way to fix that. This radio also has some other annoying quirks. After a year of ownership, I don't think I would recommend it.
The climate control worked via the top screen for me.
im a little confused as to why swappng out the radio affects the climate controls, back up cam and the top screen? shouldnt the radio be separate?
I was also confused, at first. But everything is interconnected.
@@michaelblacktree gotchu, after watching more videos i realize this is because the steering wheel has the climate controls and is interconnected with the harness that goes to the radio
Does this connect with the JBL speakers or do you need an additional part
I'm not sure. But I'm guessing it does.
could i know resistor value and which wires connected to the resistor
I explained this in the video.
I can't find the USB cigarette lighter on Amazon 🤔Any recommended search word?
Surely Lord Vader can delegate this task to an underling? 😛
I finally found it, been searching until I thought of the right word. 🤣
@@michaelblacktree Captain Rex gave me an idea for the word search.
Mine is a 2008 Prius and they say if I remove the factory radio for an aftermarket I will lose the backup camera. I have a trick around that but will be in my video of mods.
I'll keep an eye out for that. I think it needs a 12V to 6V converter?
I have a 2006 prius and my rear camera still works from the factory screen with this android unit.
Yeah, the stock backup camera should still work with the stock touch screen. I was hoping the new radio would be "plug-n-play" with the stock camera, but that didn't work out.
I don’t see the video on your channel.
Thanks for the video.. any other way to make climate control work as I couldn't find the risister that you shown in video. Someone said you can connect the 2 wires and it will also work?
I haven't tried just connecting the wires. Actually, that sounds risky. What if it shorts out the electrical circuit?
@@michaelblacktree I have no idea .. any other thoughts ?
Or send Amazon link for that risister will be great 👍🏼
Just search for a 68 ohm resistor. Amazon will be overpriced, though. If you're in the USA, Mouser Electronics will be better. Link: www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Vishay-Dale/CCF0768R0JKE36?qs=sGAEpiMZZMtlubZbdhIBIFnGi2yV3Zq1zXsZs2fb8tA%3D
I changed my vote from BMW to Prius. Where am I supposed to find Prius content?!
I hear ya. Don't worry, there's more Prius content coming.
Hello, nice video. I bought android for my gen 2, 2005 year. but i bought the one that removes navigation screen. And i cant get my CAN to work. I did put resistor on those two wires but didnt help get CAN to work. But i found somewhere on the internet that on that upper navigation screen there are also 2 CAN wires. Is it possible that puting resistor on tham can solve my problem?
Cuz i now domt have AC system except that what is on the steering wheel. 😢
I don't know, never tried that.
@@michaelblacktree i like that screen more than the one below navigation but i guess i miss something in the process
Bonjour j’ai fait le montage mai la clim ne marche pas
Je c pas quoi faire pouvez-vous m’aider s’il vous plaît
Does that have Google Play can I download Netflix and is there enough memory for some shows?
Check out the product link in the pinned comment. All the specs are there.
@@michaelblacktree guess I thought it might be easier to just ask you?
@@michaelblacktree looks great like what I'm looking for. Thanks for sharing.
Link for the resistor?
This should work -- www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Vishay-Dale/CCF0768R0JKE36?qs=sGAEpiMZZMtlubZbdhIBIFnGi2yV3Zq1zXsZs2fb8tA%3D
I just bought the head unit and try to install it and i have no sound.
Also my car only have 2 connector to connect to the android unit.
From the looks of the video, your car has 3 connector?
Yes, my car has 3 connectors for the radio. One of them has the power and ground wires, and some of the speaker wires. Another connector has the rest of the speaker wires. And the third one has the wires for the steering wheel controls.
What car do you have?
@@michaelblacktree 2006 prius with JBL
@@sxiong13 did you figure it out? I think I'm having the same issue
@@Teksnek42 I just re wire all the speakers to the android stereo and not using the jbl amp.
