      While they are 36V, what sort of ride duration could you get from a charge? Suppose you could use 2 in series or parallel for 36V output but twice the amount of juice. Plus would these with the right Motor give you 30mph top speeds??

      Thanks for the feedback. So what Battery and Motor combination do you recommend? I've seen off the shelf EVO and MAF scooters that are rated at 36V 2000W output, for the 30mph top speed. So you dont recommend that? I think the Razor chassis is better as simple design so i assume lighter, which means a powerful electrical setup will shift it's weight easier.

      The chassis on the scooter is one of its best selling points for me. It's not too heavy but it's built like a tank so it's nice and safe. The wheels are big and chunky too which jz good. I got mine just to cruise around and get up a few hills, not for racing or speed or nything because it's just too dangerous I reckon

      I've got 2x hoverboard batteries and a 36v 500w controller. Pump that into the 250w 24v standard e300 scooter and you have a solid 22mph (35km/h)

You will probably have 12v light outputs for head light and brake light. Throttle neg and POS and a signal wire (usually green) for the variable throttle. And a brake cut off to the motor wire.

    This feels like a dumb question but if you can use three 12 volts to make a 36 volt, why can't you just use four 9 volts? Wouldn't it be a lot cheaper and smaller?

    • @outie555two
      @outie555two  Před 5 lety

      I'm assuming you mean the 9v batteries you use in smoke alarms. Yes it would work for a total of 2 minutes as the capacity of the batteries is a lot smaller. Each 9v battery is about 500mah, so it would be 2000 mAh total with 4 9v batteries. Each stock 12 v battery is about 9000 mah, and with two that's 18000 mAh.

      @@outie555two You need to go back and check maths basics... 2x 12v 9ah gives you 24v 9ah when connected in series or 12v 18ah in parallel. Also the 9v smoke alarm size are only meant for low current so may not even turn the motor at all...
      I've used 2x hover board 36v 4.4ah with a 36v 500w motor for 6 months. Just connect them in parallel and charge them in parallel with the hover board charger. The battery has built in bms (battery manager system) . I cut one open to check.
      Also have a 36v 800w with 15ah lithium ion battery. Don't go there though as needed massive work to fit into frame...
      Currently trying to make 2wd version using the hover board motors. Mounting front one so it steers properly is fun...

      Only if the voltage of the batteries are higher. If these were 36 v batteries instead of the combined 24 v of the stock setup, then it will go faster. That's what I want to do in the future. As a minimum the variable throttle makes a nice addition.

      With lithium battery 36v and 350w motor and controller, top speed about 28km on flat ground. No idea about range as it's never gone flat on me, but estimate I could ride somewhere between 1 and 2 hours before it goes flat, in urban conditions.

      It's made for 24V, but I'm hopefully going to be able to run it at 36V but it can heat up at full load at 36V, so it will depend on how heavy the rider is and how much is ridden at full throttle. Wouldn't go any higher than 36V.

    • @outie555two
      @outie555two  Před 5 lety +7

      Although you mean well with your comment, it does show that you may not have done much research into why I didn't use the stock 24 v controller. To save you some time googling and researching it yourself, the stock controller does not support a variable throttle. imagine if i did what you are suggesting and modded this scooter with a 500W motor without a variable controller. it would have two speed settings, off and on 100% full throttle. That would not be very safe, drain the battery very quickly, and 500W will exceed the power outputs for a legal ride for when I use the scooter. Go ahead and do what you suggested in your comment and feel free to prove me wrong with how delighted you will be with all that power all the time.
