    Thanks Graham! I watched this video a couple of times last night & after looking at some other options , I have ordered a set of 35's for my Suburban today. We will see how they go (I'm currently running Bridgestone AT's & have plenty of tread damage from the hard ironstone rocks in The Gawler Ranges where I go a couple of times a year) I'm certainly interested in how the RT's perform on wet sealed roads though. I've had some previous tyres not do well (funnily enough after mentioning that I didn't like the KO2's on wet roads on my old V8 Cruiser back many years ago, I left the shop to see them on his Landcruiser. Doh! Thanks for your honest opinion though they are starting to get up there price wise now. CHEERS!!

    One of my favorite tires, just ordered my 2nd set for my 2017 F350, 37x13.50R20. I've got over 91,000 kms on them, and they still have life left on them...unfortunately not enough to get through another winter here. I run 55 psi all the way around, rotated them twice, and they've worn completely even. Highly recommend them!

    I have LT315/75R16 Toyo MTs on my 13,000# Fuso. Great performers on and off road, although they do need to be rotated and balanced at least every 8000 KM to keep them quiet. So far I have 48,000 kms and two years on this set and expect to get about 56,000 kms on them which is pretty good for my heavy truck. Zero flats and I’ve been in some crappy places with lots of rocks/sand/gravel.

    • @great_offroad_adventures
      @great_offroad_adventures  Před 4 lety

      That’s some good mileage under a heavy vehicle - If I remember correctly the RT’s share the same carcass as the MT’s which makes them very durable....I’ve had 0 punctures with mine, I agree with balance & rotations....it’s the key to getting any sort of decent mileage from any type of tyre.

    Great review Graham. Toyo tyres seem to be up and coming in the 4x4 community, particularly with high klm longevity. ive found them to be significantly quieter and as capable as other well advertised brands.

    Hey Graham, another great video mate. What’s your thoughts on the off-road capability of the toyo’s versus the BFG KO2’s? I’ve been running KO2’s for roughly 25K on my 200 and have been happy with their performance, especially in technical areas such as rocky climbs, but keep hearing great reviews of the toyo’s. As you mentioned, the KO2’s are not great on wet bitumen, I’ve had many a sketchy moment in the rain.

    • @joevo3
      @joevo3 Před 2 lety

      In my experience, Ko2 is nice in looks and off road but not a good tyre in the rain.. very slippery.. Can feel the steering become lighter (understeer) and oversteer as well.

      Cheers mate - appreciate the support.
      Got 80K from the Kuhmos & they were pretty shagged by then.....I got 70K on the BFG’s....they probably could have made 80-85K, but I knocked my wheel alignment out near Lake Eyre and the run back along the Nullarbor ripped the inside edges of the fronts down to the cords, outsides were fine.

    In your Kumho review you said they were much quieter than your KO's. But then these you said are quieter than the Kumho but on part eith KO'S......I wonder if its just because your comparing the new tire with the worn out tire. I wonder which time is quieter during the first half of their life???

  • @larry365

    Can't get hold of these in the UK. Having a read, the Cooper ST Maxx seem comparable. Do you have any personal experience?
    I've ran Cooper Zeon LTZ for the last 2 years and while the tread has been amazing, incredible on road and beyond what you'd expect for an AT off road. However I found the rubber went hard within about 1 year or 30k miles and the ride suffered as a result so cautious to go Cooper again.

    • @great_offroad_adventures
      @great_offroad_adventures  Před 2 lety +1

      No I haven’t had personal hands on experience with Coopers, but your saying is commonly reported here in Aus from those who do use them as well.

    Hi Graham, did you have any problems with the tyres scrubbing on the guards? If so was it just a caster adjustment?

    • @great_offroad_adventures
      @great_offroad_adventures  Před 3 lety +1

      With the 295/70/17’s on a +35 offset.
      Very minor scrub on the plastic inner wheel arch lining at the back of the wheel arch……nothing a heat gun and some gentle persuasion didn’t fix.
      Went to 305/70/17 recently and some extra persuasion needed again for these….but they also scrub on the KDSS sway bar, so it’s as big as I can get without new rims with a bigger offset or without relocating the KDSS, which in turn adds more headaches.

    Hey mate, it's been 10 months since you made this video, how many k's have you put on them in total? This is the best review I've found on any tyre. Definitely gives me a lot of faith in the rt's. Was going to buy the ko2's but I was surprised by your experience with them (assuming you had the ko's and not the ko2's though)

    • @great_offroad_adventures
      @great_offroad_adventures  Před 3 lety +2

      Loving the RT’s they are pretty much dead now....with 110K on the clock, might squeeze them up to 120K, but will be a squeeze.
      Yeah I’ve had experience with both KO’s and KO2’s and I’d take the RT’s over both.

    • @JoshSinnott97
      @JoshSinnott97 Před 3 lety

      That's honestly very impressive! Have heard so many good things about them now. Been talking to my mates and it seems the only downside to the toyos is availability. Do you think finding a spare while camping remote would be an issue with the toyos? That could be where the ko2's have an advantage but as far as quality of the tyre goes, sounds like toyo takes the cake on that one

    • @great_offroad_adventures
      @great_offroad_adventures  Před 3 lety +2

      Yeah finding a spare would be difficult if in remote areas.....but any metro area or large country town should be able to get one for you if needed.
      Part of the reason why I carry 2x spares, if I bust one beyond repair, I can order one in advance to the next large town or city I’m heading too if needed.

    • @JoshSinnott97
      @JoshSinnott97 Před 3 lety

      I still think it's worth waiting around for this tyre based on all the good things I've heard about it. Plus, if I damage a tyre while on holidays and have to use my spare, I might be able to get more time off work if I'm waiting for a tyre to get delivered ahaha
