Somehow my first answer at only the title is Faker.
Definitely the face of League as an Esport!
Of course it's Faker. Like, the instant the video started I went "oh, ooooohhh! That kinda face".
I have to correct you on something before arcane most ppl except if you were doing nothing but raging in ranked one jinx as the hyper scaling loose cannon but also the champion with the best champion release video the song is a banger and still give me chill even though I have listen to it hundreds of times when go hyper late game I just start playing it on repeat fun times.
Knew*
i didnt know who faker was before i started playing league tho ngl
The face of league used to be teemo no doubt, gamers knew that this cute rat was the face of evil despite not playing league, but now,its probably jinx because of arcane, and I'd say she's an awesome character, interesting yet simple as a champion and lore
The controversional thing about her she not kind nor evil so she is anti hero?
@@rat2316 she is a villain, but a loved one due to backstory, these villains are the best, like zuko from Avatar last Airbender for example,he is a villain but due to backstory he was understood and liked
@@rat2316 in Arcane world she's a complex and complicated character, in the Wildrift version she is cookie, funny, happy go lucky volcano of energy, all the adjectives they want to use to described that game.
Start’s league off legends was when MF was added to a game sorry that’s the reality I mean boobs
Later ahri akali Ashe I mean lore different sight on valoran 😊
annoying champ tbh
Every recent LoL poster has Jinx in it, and she's the icon character in the Wild Rift app, that's more than enough proof that she became the face tbh
Jinx is 100% the face of League. She's incredibly popular and somewhat relatable. She's so loved my Riot that it resulted in one of the greatest animated shows of all time.
Not relatable. I get everyone may think they are "crazy" but she is as crazy as old Harley Quinn.. I would say sympathetic maybe?
Certainly not relatable, good heavens if the lol players relate to her and start going crazy irl.
Maybe interesting? Unique? Eccentric?
@@emote3976 not relatable to you however it's important to note jinx story can be relatable to many and I don't mean all of it but a lot of what she goes through does actually happen Irl or something to that note
@@robertterrell7057 she's relatable with the weird daddy issues
You forget something , get jinxed was massive too .
This video launched all the riot music videos
As a hardcore dota-only player, I have to agree with Jinx being the face. Arcane was just too good even as someone who's never played a game of league, and Jinx was such a good character. Plus, we even have the Arcane Sheriff in Valorant, which is a goated skin btw
Agreed! Can't wait for Season 2
She was the face even before arcane
Wait the make Yasuo anime...
I guessed it lol
i think its teemo, because you can make marketable plushies with him
Cuteness is marketable, after all!
Fun Fact: the first bit of League merch I bought was a Teemo hat all the way back in 2014!
nooo peter don't turn me into marketable plushies
so many people have his hat
I still remember when it was Ryze who was set up to be the main character.
Soyeon doesn't voice Ahri in K/DA, Miyeon does.
How's that even a debate, it's obviously urgot
How silly of me, you're right!
literally who
I knew Teemo long before knowing league of legends.
Its probably Jinx, the one who seems to be placed in almost every situation is that girl. Only Ahri and Lux i would compare in that regard. Ahri being the only other i would compare being in the music group that was pretty successful.
originally ahri id say but she got replaced once jinx came out
especially after arcane, a lot of non league players recognize jinx
Tyler1.
was looking for this
nah the real face of league is either ryze for how much love he has gotton with reworks or skarner for his amazing design and looks in game
Ryze hasn't been the face of league since I went to high school lmao
It used to be Ashe, and then Lux (for a very long time) now its Jinx because of Arcane and Wild Rift with literally Jinx as the Icon
Don't forget ahri in her kda era
i think Ryze deserves to be mentioned considering he was such a presence in the early cinematics aswell as his association with faker!
Arcane is extremely popular, but i'd say many outsiders don't even remember it is connected to League. Also, it kinda sells a completely different vibe from the game, which is why i don't Jinx is the face of the game. Also, i think Jinxs doesn't really feel like your average League's design.
Meanwhile Ahri is "that fox girl from League" no need to go in depth, just like Pikachu, the mechanical part or the role in game are secondary to the visual identity.
Not going to lie, I kind of expected some Draven plot twist at the end of video. After all it is Leaaage of Draven.
i actually think there’s a really interesting conversation to be had about how league’s face/mascot changes throughout its lifetime. The first players will call ryze or annie the face of league, since they represent the earliest marketing focuses. The first wave of players after might call teemo or twisted fate the face, since they had a lot of popularity online. As time went on, ahri and garen started to appear much more prominently on promo and marketing, so if you started playing a bit later you might associate that. If you were a boy in highschool in 2013, back then there was a fair chance you’d think of riven or yasuo as the face of the game, as they became extremely popular champions to one-trick and people loved league for it’s skill expression a lot. Players that heard about it from esports or montages might think of kassadin or zed as the face, as they feature in some of the games most iconic clips (xpeke and faker 1v1). Some people might say draven or jax, others might even say Urf. And if you joined later, you could think of seraphine or jinx, as they have big notoriety even outside the game.
I think theres something important about the fact that league has so many faces, and that’s what made it so popular. there’s so many facets to the game and I think that’s why people still find the game interesting after 15 years. Everyone has their own reason for getting into the game, and its ability to hit so many markets was I think crucial for its success. For a game as unintuitive as League, it pretty crazy how many people play it with no RTS or MOBA experience, and find it fun right away. I know one of my favorite elements when I first started as a proxy singed main with full magic pen & movespeed runes was that you can play the game any which way that you like. And i bet you have a different element, and the fact that you do is, i think, what makes league work.
I‘d say jinx, I started playing league because I’ve seen so much fanart of her back then in 2015

I honestly had to double check if I wasn't watching a Katevolved video
League has had a constantly changing "face". It's been Garen, Lux, Vi, Teemo, Lux, Ahri, Katarina, Lux, Jinx, and I'm pretty sure it will be Lux again soon.
This man has 3 vids and I already love him
Amazing vid keep making them. Inspired to up my game
Glad you're liking the content! More to come
really nice vid concept, i also like that ur b-roll is actually relevant to what youre saying, unfortunately thats pretty refreshing at this pt. keep it up
ok i just realized this doesnt have 500k+ views wtf?
Thanks! I try to gather as much of the clips myself
Amazing video ! Definitely an underrated channel
Thanks, appreciate the love!
Fantastic video.
I only started playing League in late 2021 (around Arcane’s release) but I already knew of Jinx by then, and I’ve been somewhat familiar with her since waaay before that. Whenever I’d hear of the game here and there, even if I didn’t know anything aside from the game being a MOBA and of some of the champion names and their appearances, the first character that would pop into my mind is the crazy blue-haired girl with long twin braids and a rocket launcher.
Jinx was already the face of League for a long time and Arcane just boosted her popularity by making people previously unfamiliar with her to become acquainted with her, and by letting those who knew of her or already know her to understand her better and to see her in a different light.
You mentioned how the face of LoL should be relatable to the playerbase. And like, yeah, LoL players are crazy so Jinx fits that perfectly
love the video
For DotA ita definetely Juggernaut, such an iconic look for the marketing of the game, but id Say the players consider Pudge(for his kit and insane popularity) and Invoker (the most iconic pick in competitive dota that showcases how Deep the skillset of Dota players can be) are the actual faces of the game
Jugg, Pudge, Invoker and Lina are the the ones that come to mind when mentioning faces. Jugg and Lina cause they're the ones heavily seen in trailers and cover art of the game. Pudge due to the early days of Dota being Dendi's superstardom. Invoker because most people see him as the coolest guy (with his skills combos) and so as you said, represents the highest skill expression.
I thought Invoker
Teemo. Teemo is the face of Lol.
As a Teemo main (in Lor only) i agree.
Not the face of lol anymore he's been dethroned
I will stand with my answer of Ryze. The bald blue boy is the OG!
Let's get you to bed, old man lmao
It used to be Ryze and Katarina believe it or not
No one's talking bout Blitzcrank. He may not be human, but I think he is also pretty popular. At least that was for me, when I got introduced to league. He just stood out to me
To answer your dilemma:
For League PC: it's always Teemo
For Wildrift: Jinx/Ezreal/Garen (default Icon)
For LOR: Darius/Ahri (the default icon)
Jinx only right answer teemo used to be the face
@@Pusse_inpfp nope mf or ahri both of them are more iconic then jinx
@@pokemonlover4894 Mf is not more iconis then Jinx not since arcane and wild rift at least.
@@Milkiia arcane is carried by animtion the story is shit and has a lot of plot holes if you read lore
@@pokemonlover4894 i know the lore and at this point i just assume that every piece of media happen in a different universe. On it's own it work pretty well i think tho
I only started playing League (on PC, I had a few games of experience already on Wild Rift) a little over a year ago (and at that time I still had not watched Arcane) so I think that I can give a pretty accurate list of the characters who I knew about before I started playing. The list is: Ahri, Akali, Annie, Ashe, Garen, Jinx, Lux, Master Yi, Seraphine, Sona, Teemo, Vi, Yasuo, and Zed. Most of the list is self explanatory, but there are a few that I will explain. Akali and Seraphine were highlighted more in K/DA and they sort of stand out. Seraphine, Yi, and Sona came from my limited experience from Wild Rift as they are some of the characters that the game pushes you towards (easy kits). Teemo is just cute so he is very marketable. Yasuo and Garen follow themes that are pretty marketable (the swordsman and warrior archetypes). Zed because I'm an esports fan and Faker's Zed will always be one of the most recognizable esports plays. Annie is one I find hard to explain and the only reasons I can think of are that she is one of the first champions and has a very easy kit. Vi because although I hadn't seen Arcane yet, she still managed to pop into the media I consumed. Now the fact that Ezreal doesn't appear might confuse some people but my main idea for why is because he isn't really marketed at the same level as some of the other characters. At the time Heartsteel wasn't a thing and you don't see him in Arcane, esports (at least not in the past few years) etc. and he isn't pushed upon new players as an easy to play champ.
far before playing league, even before arcane was released, i already knew about jinx bc my friend really enjoyed her music video
only champs i really knew before i played was garen, jinx, and ashe - surprisingly it feels like garen is the face of league with jinx being a close second
Jinx is also in Fortnite so
great video however soyeon voices akali not ahri 😅 she’s voiced by miyeon of G-Idle
As a player who entered league recently but known his existence since forever i believe LoL has no face. LoL itself is his face, the game is so popular as so gigantic that when you think about LoL you don't think about a character but only at the game itself.
No solo eso recuerda que Jinx es literalmente la cara de Wild Rift, es el ícono de la app y está en otras franquicias con su canción propia de Arcane como los es Just Dance
Jinx is literally the face of Wild Rift.
loool i knew it from the beginning even my friends who dont play league know of jinx! also she is frequently cosplayed too so her character transcends the virtual world!
Yeah, that's the right pick. She was the only League character I could name before I played. That video was everywhere.
I am 100 percent sure if they make good Ezreal anime or something like that he might reclaim his former glory as face of league of legend.
Even tough i agree that Jinx is the face of league right now, i think that before Arkane or if Ezreal had some relevance in it he would easily be the face the face of league.
Also you making some really cool vids keep it up!
I think historically it's been either Ahri or Teemo, with Teemo being kinda phased out over time. I really think Ahri's been the character most non-League players think of first when they think about League, and Jinx in recent times is challenging that position, but I think it's yet to be seen if she will permanently become the face of League. She definitely is now though, pretty clear cut considering she's the poster child for Wild Rift.
Personally, I knew Jinx was the face of League ever since last summer. Because last summer my 8 years old cousin and her 9 yo sister took a look at my gameplay and recognised Jinx’s face on the minimap. She didn’t even know her name nor story NOR the name of the game. But she knew her _face._ That was enough for me to see it really.
Yasuo + Jinx + Lux + Blitzcrank + Garen
One for every role (Lux is the best jungler gank with R from afar)
But for real, Poro's take the W today
Teemo is a good shout. He kinda acts as the pikachu of league.
you can definitely do weird franchise faces, just look at tekken kazuya.
-evil as fuck (sandwiched between his family killer dad and "good-guy" "I-started-ww3" son)
-entire family line is difficult to play
-still popular at pretty much all levels of play
The old face was Teemo. Then it became Jinx after the Arcane Series.
Honestly, before I got into league, Jinx was the only champ that I knew about somehow. Saw her fanarts on pinterest or twitter and her Get jinxed song. I knew completly nothing about league back before 2018 neither whats the game about or it's lore, but Jinx was the champ I could recognize anywhere.
I imagine Ahri must be very popular in Korea, even to people who don’t play League
Jinx defo became the face but personally i think a lot of people knew ahri without knowing league cuz of kda before that definetly teemo
To be absolutely fair, She is the face of wildrift. Lor is Darius and 2xko probably will be Ekko. So since they weren't candidates, then it would be from somewhere, where throwing away any riot forge since it doesn't have someone appear twice (i think), points away from Ekko for this. so all that's left is Arcane, Nobody plays Viktor, and Child Murderer Jayce might scare the younglings, it's Not Mel obviously, Embassa probably if they do release her to league.
Also nobody plays Heimer, and Vi is a 2 for package with Caitlyn, they fuzzy cuffed together. So yeah very short and Easy answer.
For me personally it's Yasuo I knew of him and how he looked like long before I started playing. Idk why but he just somehow was memorable to me
I never knew teemo before LoL but I knew the jinx song and I’d seen jinx cosplays. Now with Arcane I’d say she’s 100% the one character everyone knows is from LoL.
I was expecting Teemo but I guess, much like his progenitor, Techies, he's probably too hated lmao.
I remember when it was Katarina back in the day. She was pushed everywhere I wonder why that stopped
it used to be teemo, but in modern era, especially after arcane, it's jinx
Prior to getting into League (as a franchise), I only knew Jinx, Ezreal, Ahri and Teemo. The face of Wild Rift would probably be either Jinx or Garen, tho.
Before playing lol i've seen much art and memes about jinx yasuo teemo lux and ahri. But i'm saying probably jinx along with arcane popularity
Back in 2018 when I started to play league again, after I dropped it in 2017, the "face of league" was always Ahri for me. Every video I saw on youtube was about Ahri somehow.
Same for me
I feel like Jinx only became a candidate after Arcane, Riot just cant stop pushing her in our face for some reason. They even made her the face of Wildrift. I dont really get why honestly, even though i myself used to main Jinx back when i played league. But i mained her for her fun gameplay, i couldn't careless about her personality or character. I still think Ahri is a strong candidate for face of League since she's been the face for so much longer than Jinx, and even today she's still very popular and they even made her the face of 2XKO.
for me at least.... i think teemo or poro has to be on the list..... the teemo hat merch is everywhere and poros is also everywhere in game, splasharts, aram, tft, recalls, tactician and more...
Jinx's personality is no different from the average League chat
When he said anyone can play jinx good enough.
Bruh i don't even win or get a good score with jinx once unlike ezreal or ashe.
The reason I started the game is actually arcane
Jinx. She’s literally the face of the wild rift app and arcane. She was already popular as their leading lady before that (she’s in SO many cinematics), but arcane just accelerated that
Teemo is the only correct answer. If you disagree that means you support what Cookielol and edp445 did
For me its ashe and yi
Bcz i played dota most of my gaming life and my favorite carried were drow and jug
So when i played league i picked ashe and yi for the resemblance
Game is almost 15yo, it had different periods of popular champions (face of league), looking back there were or are a lot of "Face of league" like Ashe, Teemo, Lux- not so much anymore when patches were made for her even though she and MF have most skins, Katarina and Garen (long time ago), Ezreal, Zed, Yasuo, Akali after rework, Kai'sa, Ahri...
Jinx is something that Riot is trying to push with Arcane and Wild Rift but for LOL players and merchandise perspective she is A tier never S or OP
Some rules for the face i don't agree with, some i do. But yeah, jinx fits the face of league well
14:15 Gotta disagree. Even BEFORE Arcane was released, Jinx used to be super popular, mainly because of the "get jinxed" video, but I also think this happened due to her personality and fun design. Crazy manic pixie dream girl with bright blue hair, pink eyes and those looooong braids? Peak character design
(this is coming from someone whose only knowledge of the game was KDA, then heartsteel appeared and I started playing)
Jinx is literally the wild rift logo. She's literally the face of League of Legends. Lmao.
Guessed jinx before the vid started. So i would say you were right. I think her neurotic personality actually fits the league community quite well😂
The answer is probably different in other parts of the world, but in the West it’s Jinx. She’s easily the most well known and visually recognisable character to people outside of the core playerbase. My non-player friends know Jinx, while they wouldn’t be able to pick Lux or Ashe out of a lineup of generic mage/archer characters. Being the face of the game doesn’t mean being the most popular character in-game. Tracer was never the most picked character in Overwatch. Being the face means being recognisable by even those with next to no knowledge about the franchise…
Ryze would have been a contender once, but he’s not nearly popular enough
The old faces of league were 100% katarina and ryze, now its undeniably jinx
What about Morgana? She has consistently been played in all seasons accross all ranks, always gets like 3 new skins per year, was the face of this season's cinematic, and login screen, and her lore was changed to make her more relatable and empathetic as a character unlike Kayle's.
Morgana was never really that popular compared to the top of the list though. She like a solid B tier in terms of popularity.
During the earlier seasons Katarina was definitely being markted as the game's face imo
when i heard "something relatable to the playerbase" i thought of singed because league players are insufferable to be with.
I saw someone in the comments make a fantastic point that Jinx (and Vi) are in Fortnite
When i heard face of league i immediately thought of Faker. But i realized this video meant another kind of face so i guess it's Jinx or Teemo for me.
just want to point out jinx is definitely NOT the main character of arcane btw
Jinx was already the face before Arcane was released,
She was by far the most recognizable character and the most prominent in promotional material.
Now after Arcane it's not even close
Honestly I would've played League much earlier than I did if Ezreal was the face of League and I think a lot of women would as well - I saw an influx of female players following Heartsteel (at least from what I can see on Twitter or in my server in game). Before playing I only knew Ahri, Jinx, Yasuo and Teemo and none of those appealed to me. Quite the contrary, they were putting me off. I started because of my friend feeling very sceptical, then saw Ez as one of the early free champ picks for adc and immediately thought - I am playing him, no matter he is difficult. 5 years later (after a lot of learning and being bad), most played champ this season for me is Ezreal by far and I can finally say I am decent.
I think riot is a unique in that way. They dont have one iconic champion they have A-lister and they select one champion depending on who their market is. Jinx for the casual player Yasuo for the edge lore Ahri for the sex appeal ect...
N'Sante and we all know why.
I fully expected your final choice to be Teemo and I'd argue he's the true face of league
Yasuo, end of story
Who?
jinx is even the app icon for wild rift 😂😂😂😂
is it draven? i have not watched it yet
I first thought of Faker as the face of league. Then when you said a champion face, I thought of Teemo. Hey man, people wear his hat in public! :)
Then the question is, Would they kill the face of League of Legends?. I Love Jinx, she is such a traumatic character, however they have been teasing that she will die in the Season 2 Finale either by Vi,Caitlyn or even Warwick. I think that would be a mistake Jinx ia....Perfect. That is you want to see her issues get resolved, even though that may not be possible, unless Ekko finds someway to help her before Jinx uses her teleporter to leave Zuan for good and end up on the MorningStar in another reality, with clearer head but still a little crazy.
She is already a mascot of Wild Rift, literally. And where is Teemo?)
Great points, but my bias says Ahri 😎👍
