Manor Lords is a strategy game that allows you to experience the life of a medieval lord. Grow your starting village into a bustling city, manage resources and production chains, and expand your lands through conquest.
Inspired by the art and architecture of late 14th century Franconia, Manor Lords prioritizes historical accuracy wherever possible, using it to inform gameplay mechanics and visuals alike. Common medieval tropes are avoided in favor of historical accuracy, in order to make the world feel more authentic, colorful, and believable. - Hry
My first tip would be: buy your second ox immediately
Good tip!
Yep!
with the stipulation that you get planks and upgrade the hitching post to a barn first. I made the mistake of eagerly buying a second ox and he just walked off. . .😢
@@S.G.W.C. i would die lol but you can buy a second hitching post for 1 log
@@S.G.W.C. you have to assign a worker to the ox or the ox will run away
Don't rush into building backyard gardens early game. Your hunter and gatherers will make more than enough food to start you off and harvesting gardens takes up workers. Plan for the gardens for later and add them as needed.
Build the plank station ASAP! Planks will be needed to build the church, which will give you a massive boost in happiness so more people will move in earlier.
Don't add the second dwelling to your houses too early. Instead make a street of five small homes, housing just one family each, with a small space at the rear. These will soon become your level 2 homes. Make sure the market is closer to these homes.
Most important tip - Get the second ox ASAP! It'll half your build time. Use your initial 50 coins to buy an ox (20) and then two gardens (30) to backup your food supplies.
Build your manor early! As soon as you build the manor you unlock taxes which will give you a constant supply of wealth.
Don't exhaust your iron, stone and clay deposits if they are not rich. They will eventually run out, and bandits will take their goods from your storage. Juggle workers to only mine when needed. If you have a rich iron deposit, definitely invest in the deep mining perk. This will give you an unlimited supply of iron, which can be turned into tools and weapons for your military or to sell for big money.
appreciate people like you fr
I find this comment more useful then the whole video up lol thanks man.
I’m so glad the final tip wasn’t: “have fun, at the end of the day this is a video game”
😂
Tip #14 is something I was completely unaware of. Even a trickle of incoming planks is better than none.
We're ready for tomorrow : LAUNCH DAY ! Thanks Lord Egg
Hope you enjoy the game mate! have fun 😁
My 2 start tips: build the first 5 houses with a large backyard for vegetables and you are set for next years to not starve. Get a second hitching post and ox instantly.
For tip 20, put your archers forward until the enemy comes near, you'll get more use out of them that way.
Im not going to sleep this weekend! Thanks for the tips, Mayor Lord Egg
Enjoy the binge mate! Great game!
I have played it for 8 hours today on release day I love it so much. It's like city skylines, but with wars. And armies, I love it. I can't wait to see how much better it gets
That a fantastic list of tips, thanks Egg 🙂
Thanks mate 😁☕
Sitting here on steam waiting for it to be ready XD 😂😂😂
Less then a hour and sitting here like
Hurry up!!!!
Yay for tips and tricks. Can’t wait for more gameplay!
This game is so deep and interconnected I love it
Oh I just can't wait for this today 😀Thanks for the tips Mr Egg
I love tips and tricks!! They are so helpful when you play a game!!! I look forward to you playing more also. I have no idea when I can get this pc fixed so totally depending on you to keep playing it 🤩
Thanks you. Well made video. Fast och lots of good tips!
Count down...hours away! This was great thanks!
Great guide mate, thank you so much.
No problem mate! Hope you're enjoying the game 😊
Thanks for the tips!
I'm gonna sink some time into sandbox first to grab a comfortable reins on the mechanics before I jump into the rtbs... I know this game is beautiful but one of my pet hates for games is when there is a day night cycle but the game play and mechanics don't change, if people spent evenings doing leisure activities and night time sleeping bringing your production to a stop I'd be more into it... awesome video egg can't wait for manor lords episode 6
Great video, thx!
Thanks for the tips. The game is beautiful and very entertaining. Can't wait to see what they do with it over time. It's already awesome.
Can't wait either! Thanks for watching
Thank you for this! Without a tutorial these are 100% necessary to know. It's emberryassing to accidentally cut down your bushes :(
Yeah, I totally ruined my start. I don't think I'm going to survive very long 😂
Great video and thanks for this.
No worries man, there's a survival guide series on the channel too if you need more help 😌
great tips thanks
Thank you!
This is one of best games Iv played in years and it’s only in early assess! 👌👌🙌
Any tips to not play this game from sun rise to sun set?
Try from sunset to sunrise
brilliant guide thnx!
No problem mate, hope you're enjoying the game!
Thanks!
First time I upgraded everyone to artisans super fast, so I had no supplies and they were all literally wandering around the town sitting in front of their houses blabbering away about their impending starvation. Literally taking the “that’s someone else’s job” cliche to a fatal extreme.
Amazing video! and yes eggs OP indeed. For 7:25, 25, once you get to 75 people will migrate twice as fast. Please let me know if I'm wrong, hope there's more videos coming.
Thanks, Egg!
Today is the day my fellow manor brethren
Enjoy Mi'lord!
Top game, I'm impressed.
Thanks
Thought I’d get ahead of the game and get it downloading before work. Turns out the UK release time is 2pm
Time to be sick all of sudden!
That last land claim battle is no joke!
My tip is to make double roads for main routes. I've seen people, carts, and oxen get jammed up if they are trying to move between buildings.
Thank you for your basket of golden eggs :-)
Thanks for watching!
Thank you , Nice. P.S. Manor Lords is out now in USA
If you hold Shift, you can change the value from trading items by 10
No surprise what the first tip was going to be 😆
I have never played this game, only watched gameplay from others. But what is the small white icon which appears on the worker icon when a building is selected (it shows a head and shoulders , with a mushroom 🍄 kinda icon too) what’s this? @6:53
It denotes that the family has a stall in the marketplace for the job they do
Unbelievable this entire game was made by 1 studio
U mean 1 person?
YesYesYes
Tip; if you want to get rid of trees just build farmland or pastures then delete it after.
Tip: 22/23 that's for that was wondering how to get herbs
Hi, how on earth do I get the needed supplies like more shields and swords, bows etc to kit out my army? I built a smithy and I did somehow get some shields etc but I haven't been able to get anymore?
You have to convert more houses to artisan. One makes bows and another makes shields.
@@codybyrne5772 Ok thank you, not quite sure how I do that but I'll figure it out!
Please someone tell me how you get more firewood to your homes. I’ve been frustrated for hours because I have a surplus 2+ yrs worth of firewood they keep building stalls but not stocking them so my homes are staying red and it’s like they just won’t replenish the stalls at the marketplace. I’ve tried everything reassigning ppl to different sites. working the wood splitter only adds more to my storehouse which I don’t need more I need them to distribute it to the houses. All houses are close to my market area and even if I put storehouse workers to max they do help run stands just firewood stands stay at either 0 or 4 total and everything else like food etc seem to be working just fine. firewood is just not working at all for me. Not sure what to do about this and just gave up because I want to enjoy the game it’s just frustrating me lol
Logistics. It's best to have markets next to storage areas. It's the ppl working the shop that have to stock it. If they are walking everywhere all the time then you won't get them to the market fast enough
I had spears and archers and I got REAMED, three times on my first play through.
🎉🎉🎉
Press PAUSE at start of the game, while you plan your road layout, to conserve food.
Little tip but if you’re going to farm, you need to farm straight away. Also only make a small field on your first year otherwise you’re stretching yourself too thin too quick. Build a bigger field once you’ve got a few more families who can work them.
I've always found its too demanding to farm the first year. To actually get any yield you need a lot of families to plow the field. You can easily survive the first year with berries and meat.
Let's go meh Lords!
If anyone's brutally obsessed with purely hardcore Medieval warfare and society I violently recommend Schwerpunkt's videos series
How to I get retnues my unit dies also does anyone knwo how to build deffences
When is this dropping for Xbox X?
i learn more each attempt its mad its in early access and doesnt have the specific things im hoping for yet and im still addicted
Anybody have a solution for the homelessness bug?
Let me tell ya, my Manor Lords town is exporting a shit ton of eggs
it's so fun but i suck at games like this lol
What is a good hunting limit? I feel like I’m getting no meat ever
My village has been raided twice and can never recover to have enough food and fuel. Soon people left 😢
Have you all worked out the manor of which foods are consumed as yet.? Pardon the pun ;)
I’m lacking fuel, people are dying in cold. But my charcoal kilns aren’t making charcoal despite having the wood and people to do do
Just buld a wood cutter workshop
@@s.w.4409 I did not see that. Thank you
Why is day and night not default lol
Thanks for the tips, enjoyed all your vids on this game. I find it hard to believe that the Forest Management perk is worth it if you have a rich berry deposit. It is hard to completely clean out a rich berry deposit in one season. With so few perks available I feel that using one there is a wasted opportunity elsewhere..
Just assign more workers, guess it all depends on what specialization you need for your provinces! Thanks for watching :)
BUY THE OX!!
Do Egg and CPP have a surviving vs. thriving feud now? 😅
I don't know what you mean lol
@@OVERCHARGEDEGG CPP said in one of his Manor Lords videos that he would be teaching not to survive but thrive, which I felt as a potential poke at the title of your series. Then here in your intro I thought you were maybe poking back. All in my head it seems? Anyway, funny to think about.
Why is the video so dark ?
melee /= mee lee, it's may lay
first!
The game makes 0 sense. I set everything up and then all my people do is take it to the market stalls and dont keep food for thr town 🥴 i might be doing something wrong but f me this is irritating me!!!
They will not distribute firewood to my homes. They built like two stands and I have like 600 firewood in the storehouse for my 8 homes and they just leave the stands empty all my houses lack firewood for no reason. It’s like they don’t know they have a whole storehouse full of wood across the street. Frustrating af. I took a break because I really don’t want to hate the game for that dumb shit lol
You have to keep families working at the places that have stalls at the market. If you change move away families that work the stall, the stall will become abandoned. You basically have to keep at least one family at the store house and pantry.
@HeezyfoCheesy some of the stuff is dumb af. I've now got 3 regions (2 full level towns) but the game clearly is early access and waaaaay off of a final product. I'm enjoying it but some things are just not good enough. I've more bad things to say than good but I'm fully aware things should change.
Even with storehouse and pantry full it seems to be doing this so it can’t be that. I’ve had an abandoned stall once but demolished it and they built a new one for someone to work, it just seems like nobody puts out the amount needed to fill the houses demands fast enough when they have so much excess in the storehouse I had an upgraded storehouse with four workers so idk what it is.
Those are not tips but tutorial. Waste of time
these videos are already outdated
Honestly i think this game is poorly balanced - you can’t develop a city without wealth and you can only get wealth by developing city
Welcome to life 😂
Hi now are you? My name is Keith Morgan and i am doing fine over here in Pocatello, Idaho. I love going to McDonald's and getting a large caramel frappe, i probably get one five times a week and caramel is my favorite but sometimes i get oreo, i dont like mocha. Thanks for your time and god bless me anything helps.
