coverage texture. All it needs is noise to make it's edge more natural, so you don't get a solid line of snow.
Really nice! When I plop trees with line tool I always give it a bit of offset and enable the random rotation to give it a more realistic look, I love how you've integrated manufacturing with forestry props! Nice build!
Make sure each tree plot is at least one Morgen in size

Those mods helped tremendously!! Makes it much more believable than the original forestry that came out with CS2 🤨 I cannot understand how they didn't see how detailing was such an important part of CS for everyone. Looks great!! 🤩

My play ground is in the Sierra National Forest. When the logging crew cuts trees and find one that's not usable they just leave it to the side of the logging roads. People that come up for fishing, camping, hunting, are permitted to cut those up for fire wood.

You can do some node controller-like manipulations of roads with move it I think. Alt+M to enter manipulation mode

FYI, there are huge piles of logs props you can use to fill in the storage yards. No need to pile individual logs. Great build!

@@OVERCHARGEDEGG Sorry my bad, You can find them in developer mode and I thought they could be searchable through Findit. Unfortunately that doesn't seem to be the case anymore. You can still find them in developer mode, but can't seem to use them. Hopefully somebody will fix this in the future.

Egg, have you considered using the some of Sully's decals on the edge of the dirt roads? I find it a good way of breaking the harsh transition between that >amazingly beautiful vanilla< road texture and that other >amazing beautifull vanilla< "grass" texture at 26:56
also, the fences in the lumber storages at 29:00 kinda look like that german black and red windmill design from the austrian painter in 1939 lmao
Been waiting for a way for forestry in CS2 not to look naff and of course it would be Egg who made it look amazing. Nice one. Though the child in me chuckled every time you talked about placing logs.... 💩🙈
Hey Egg! Great build. I'm thinking use some invisible pedestrian paths on those areas you custom built with the trailers and props. Cims might walk through there if you do.
Secondly, I'm wondering why companies aren't using the storage yards. Might be cause they're level 5? I'm going to try and test that.
That machinery needs some upgrades... I can't wait for the editor to allow asset creation and for a mod that allows to change a building's vehicles!

Should change the age of the trees so it looks like new growth was planted.
That line tool needs an option to slightly rotate the trees, it's uncanny valley stuff to see them with all their branches perfectly lined up

I've not bought CS2 for a whole long list of reasons, but one of the biggest and clearest problems with the looks of the game is how uncannily clean many of the ground textures are. It just seems like a weird oversight. You don't need performance draining textures to make something look more real and rough from a distance. It's so weird for all grassland to look like a manicured lawn outside of a stately home. Some of those modded ground textures that you added are a game changer
Perhaps there should be a smaller tree farm with juvenile trees, reminiscent of a Christmas Tree farm.
I did plant them in the detailing timelapse but they grew lol

The game just doesn't have the friendly, inviting style of CS I.
In a few years, who knows?
For now however, I won't be upgrading my PC or buying the game.

I've been so busy with all those wonderful Mod's we have been given. A huge biggie thank's to all the wonderful Modder's out there working so hard to help make Cities Skylines 2 what it should have been upon release. And to the developer's please keep making this game better with each update and please help support the Modder's for helping to turn your mess around because they definitely deserve to be rewarded for saving your azz's. And most of all a huge and biggie thank you to Egg man for being here to showcase all the new tool's we have been given. Have a great day...👍

Definitely enjoyed watching this last night. I loaded up a new CS2 game mself earlier this week but I keep struggling with the most basic thing. I can't get water/electricty to connect at all. Is there anything in the mods to just make it a given like we had in CS1? I am, honestly, embarrassed that I can't seem to make it work. But I haven't been able to get a handle on the controls/movement as it just feels wrong after CS1.
Where’s the other half of that log loader?! It should be a center articulated tractor, the cab where the operator sits is missing! lol
Hate to say this Egg but I think that trees placed with Anarchy cannot be "farmed" by the forestry industry... something Yen said a couple of weeks ago I think. I think you need to lay the trees down without Anarchy _before_ drawing the forestry "farms" in. Sully's riverbed surface works really well for this type of industry too. Proper tree farm stuff!
Your yards may simply not be accumulating because no company is actually present... did you check the individual sites to see if any companies had moved in?

Yeah, companies are in the buildings and exporting, just not storing. You can see trucks leaving and trees being harvested 😌

What is the MOD for drawing textures on the ground?
Unfortunately, the only things that looks better than CS1 are the people and cars, and for worse performance. Im so sad for this game.

Long time watcher, first time commenter. What bothers me about our beloved CS2 is the reality that it looks like trash for a 2023/2024 game. Beyond oil and other shortcomings, I can not get over how bad it looks

Yeah, its kinda bad, the textures are bad, the assets and props are very detailed but look like plastic. The light is pretty good and they have plans of adding grass to the ground though. Mods will fix the other problems, for now everything seems fine
