    Finding that much LGA1150 goodness is lucky. The G3258 anniversary Pentium and i7-5775C were the only times Intel were thinking outside the box at all during the dark decade of them rehashing the same 4core rubbish over and over and they were both LGA1150. Haswell also fixed the hyperthreading bug that Sandy and Ivy bridge had where no longer the i5 would beat the i7 in certain workloads and games so it was the first time an i7 was the best buy. This all makes LGA1150 the hardest motherboards to track down.

I went to this place where they sold everything you can think of, and I got myself a 64MB graphics card. It was So special because I was learning how to “fix” 😂 computers. The used part market is hot right now. But I’ve noticed it’s harder to sell the used PCs at a reasonable price. Same in aus?

    • @ultragrimx8993
      @ultragrimx8993 Před 11 měsíci +1

      Used parts will always be easier to sell because if something happens its just that one part which you got for cheap. Buying whole used rigs on the other hand has to many chances for the buyer to get burnt. If the seller is small time and doesnt have any reputation for selling top tier long lasting pc's then the price will be barely worth it.

    • @lateralus6512
      @lateralus6512 Před 2 měsíci

      Here in New Zealand, on TradeMe, some used PC parts sell really well individually, but not as whole systems. So it's better to buy bulk deals and sell the valuable parts off separately.

    The i5 4590 is the best deal for that socket and performs almost identically to the 4670. Solid choice for the uber-budget builds you'd be doing nowadays with that socket. I don't think the hyper-threading of the i7 really gets you that much when you're talking about the overall limitations of that gen.

    • @jacksonbtb571
      @jacksonbtb571 Před 11 měsíci +3

      Definitely depends on the game but having 8 threads can really help out in some modern games, especially on the 1 and 0.1% lows. Plus its really hard to flip a pc with a 4-threaded i5 nowadays lol. If 4th gen i7s are reasonably priced where you live its definitely worth it over any of the i5s. I used a i5-4690k for a few years and I decided to upgrade because of the micro stuttering that would happen in some demanding games.

    Would you overclock i7 4770k on that H81 mobo you mentioned? There e are not much phases there, iirc there are 3 chokes...no heatsinks on vrms...so just from your perspective of much more experienced builder, will you OC or you'll leave it stock? Doesn't really matter if it's i74770k or i5 4690k...or does it?
    I mean they are not 200W+ cpus so it should be fine, maybe?
    Another thing, just an observation, I always liked those M variants of mobos with 4 slots for ram. 2 was good but 4 was squeezing a year or two more of usage just because of ram capacity

    i got it to work for weeks and it started showing problems [nvme brand new] in which i was able to resolve. 6 months down the line, the single stick of 16gb ram died. in which in turn i temporarily replaced with non matching ram [1x8gb 2400mhz 1x4gb 2133mhz] ddr4 memory. i know that it should work fine for more than a month. recently and as i tried using msi's xmp profile [b450m mortar max with r3 2200g], it has been throwing a lot of bsod, worst, it no longer boots. ram sticks works fine alone as i have a back up mobo that aint mine, just for testing. am waiting for my new sticks of ram in the mail and hopefully and properly diagnose this matter. any thoughts [basic trouble shooting is done 10x already it does boot up once but it no longer boot the second time]?
