  • Macro Economics and tech prices? What do these two have in common? Well quite a lot, and in today's video we discuss why prices on certain products have bottomed and why GPU prices in particular could come down a short period of time, before inevitably going up again.

nvidia, amd. Also retailers like microcenter, bestbuy, bhphoto, adorama, will become scalpers when those prices increase beyond the msrp. It is mind boggling that instead of staying at msrp, they become sharks themselves. It’s a vicious cycle. The only way to stop it is to not buy anything from them. It’s a tall order but it is the only way to show disapproval of the prices.

We can thank all the scalpers for the high prices in the late 2020's when supply was low and people were asking for top-dollar for GPU's.. The companies saw this an realized they could charge a lot more. I bet the prices will remain high from now on unless people stop buying, which wont happen anytime soon.

Am still on 12th gen, so other than perhaps turning off Asus MCE and checking limits (did the recent BIOS update), I think this is a 13th/14th gen problem that BIOS updates could fix in the future. It seems that the Asus MCE settings etc are a bit agressive but not just Asus, 3 of the mb vendors have similar settings, it's not a lone vendor thing.

It has 16GB VRAM and performs little faster than the 7700XT. However you do lose AV1 and display port 2.1 by going that routes. If you find those important and want bit efficiency, longer driver support, and are okay with 12GB VRAM which should be fine for max 1080p gaming for 3-4 years than spend the extra $20 get that GPU

Gotta love government inflation charts which show them as a % and not metric of change over a base line.
Looks like inflations gone down, but you need deflation for that, we only have inflation so the number keeps rising even though it looks like its shrinking.
You have $100 and someone gives you $100 more you have $200.
You have 100% more money, however if that person than gives you another $100 you have tripled your original amount, however you now have only gained 50% more money this time around.
    Metric of change are deceptive.

I the 90's every new cpu put the 6 month old to garbage.
Now a 10 years cpu can do the job, and a 7 years old gpu too.
An i7-2600k and a 1080ti and you play anything at 1080p high - ultra at 60 fps.

GPU's are vastly overpriced. Demand is not there. Hopefully the AI boom will flop too. 2023, saw lowest demand for 15 years.
The profit margins of Nvidia who have 78% market share, is absurd. 50 - 60%, which is far too high.
For GPU's that can barely do 4K 60?!!!
When a PS5, can deliver a high percentage of what Nvidia offers? For like £479.99 in the UK, or less. For the entire box (yes, I know they were sold at a loss, but not now).

@@nuffsaid7759 That's my first response tbh, I can always tell when any form of downscaling is on because its blurry and over sharpened. Distanced objects always look blurry to me like low res well that's because it is low res.
There is no compensating when rendering the game from a lower resolution. It looks better with DLSS quality on a 4k panel but that's because DLSS quality is 1440p just on a 4k panel. 1440p panel DLSS quality looks terrible and 1080p DLSS quality is truly shocking. At that point just lower your resolution from 1440p to 1080p, no need for downscaling.
