    The answer is it's easy! We hope this helps.

      I prefer scag, but I've ran exmart or gravley's for years. Why , because scag makes there own spindles in house with tapered roller barrings that are greesable.

    I have commented before and I appreciate all of your help with adjusting these decks. One issue I’ve been running into, I will have three of the corners of the deck with matching measurements and one corner totally off and the chain with a ton of slack. What may I be doing wrong?

    • @KPMExceptional
      @KPMExceptional  Před 2 lety +2

      Tough one! We recommend that you start by putting the deck on blocks all the same size on a level floor. Once that is done adjust the chains and level the deck, it should help with getting a “starting point”. Hope this helps! If you're really stuck you can call your dealer too!

    • @cowboysnation1
      @cowboysnation1 Před 9 měsíci

      Simple place deck on 3 inches. Now adjust deck all the way down on all corners. Now measure blades if they are to high, lower the front deck first until blades reach 3 inches then back blades and that's it your done that simple.

    Which holes would i set my antiscalp rollers for 3inch cut as well as 3.5 inch

    • @KPMExceptional
      @KPMExceptional  Před 3 lety

      Ok so this is not a "set in stone" answer. Basically, you have to feel it out as you go. If you are cutting at a certain height and the wheel is riding on the ground then you will need to move it up some. On the same note, if the anti scalp wheel is nowhere near the ground (up too high) you can bring it down a bit so its closer.
      That is why Scag gives you multiple settings for the anti-scalp wheels. Also if the kind of lawns you are cutting are very rough or uneven, you may want to choose a higher hole so that they don't dig into the lawn.

    I have found a lot of decks are lower than the pin setting indicates.

    • @KPMExceptional
      @KPMExceptional  Před 3 lety +1

      believe it or not, the numbers on the pin settings are purely "reference numbers" and aren't meant to match up to inches. So you are correct - its very common to have to adjust these settings if you want your numbers to match the actual inches for height of cut. thanks for your comment!

      We are sorry to hear that. Without knowing the exact model of your mower we are not able to assist unfortunately. However, we will mention that if you are certain your mower has the ability to lock in the up position we recommend contacting your dealer, this functionality should have been confirmed upon initial setup by the dealer.

    I have a Scag Liberty Z model #SZL61H-24FR. How do I prevent blowout from the front? While mowing debris shoots out of the front and swirls up to the deck and on me. I’ve read about some type of “buffer” however my dealer had no idea what I was talking about when I asked about that. Is there a fix for this? Thanks

    • @KPMExceptional
      @KPMExceptional  Před rokem +1

      We have had a few customers asking about this. If you are experiencing blow out like you describe, we recommend getting two baffles and installing them on your mower. They are actually baffles for the catcher kit but they address the blowout issue as well. The part numbers are 425267 (Left hand) and 452108 (Right hand). The baffles bolt under the deck. Your dealer can help more with this. Thanks for your question!

    I have watched this video countless times. I own a 52” and 61” v ride. I’ll have the entire deck PERFECT. Then I can’t get the deck up into transport position. Am I doing something wrong? Any help would really be appreciated!

    • @KPMExceptional
      @KPMExceptional  Před 2 lety +1

      Unfortunately, some decks can be up to a ½” off from the deck height decal. Meaning if you set the blades to 3” at the 3” mark you may not get the deck to go into transport position. In this case you have to set the blade to 2 ½” at the 3” mark, that way you can still get the deck into transport position. Sounds like you might have this issue. Thanks for your comment!

    • @KPMExceptional
      @KPMExceptional  Před 2 lety

      the first thing we adjust is deck level. you can measure from any reference point on the deck as long as it is the same all the way around. for deck height, you do want to measure from the blade. it starts in the video above around 3:40. thanks for your comment!

    Why is my mower clumping up grass never had it clump grass so much before As you're cutting and you're putting a line in the grass it will clump up softball size of grass so I have to mow that line all over again

    • @KPMExceptional
      @KPMExceptional  Před 10 měsíci

      there are alot of reasons that a mower might clump grass. too much grass being cut off a time - blades not sharp - mowing too fast, and much more. your best bet would be to check your owner's manual. all Scag mowers come with owner's manuals with a troubleshooting cut quality section. just find your model and serial number here: www.scag.com/manual-parts-list/

    • @KPMExceptional
      @KPMExceptional  Před rokem

      We are recommending in the video that you measure the inches up from the ground to blade, to match the number you have the cutting height set at. So if height set to 3, you should be able to measure 3" underneath ground to blade. Don't forget to put it on level ground and set correct tire pressure!

      Yes that bolt can be tricky to get too, the best advice we have is to lower the deck as much as possible before leveling in order to free up some room to reach the bolt. It should not matter what height you level the deck at, when raised it should still be level.
