I believe the part number you are looking for is 484366 - that does include the filter AND beak - but it is quite inexpensive.

@@KPMExceptional ... Yes 90.00 for the canister but why couldn't we buy a simple rubber without the complete canister ? I have checked with dealers and they tell me the rubber beak doesn't come on the canister.

Things change fast! I have checked our warehouse and inventory - the part number 484366 is indeed the rubber beak AND filter NOT cannister. For about $3.00.

Yes an older V-Ride should still feature the same adjustment screws.

Normal maintenance should be all you need - always make sure no bare metal is showing - touch up paint can help a lot.

Believe it or not air resistance can indeed bend metal.

I own one and the 3 year warranty on the engine is worth it. Do you do landscaping commercially? I do and you can literally drop a boom on it and go cut grass after. Real rubber wheels and the height is marked. But most importantly it cuts grass amazingly well and it mulches so well it’s truly amazing. Wet think grass a mower that’s cheaper would bog down. I own one of the largest landscaping companies around here and the price is not a factor when I spend 12k-20k on the big mowers. This SCAG is in every single trailer I own. For commercial it’s totally worth it. For a homeowner you are correct it’s over kill. But we have about 65 customers who pay extra just to have the property push mowed or they have small gated areas. This is the most versatile mower I own and it is built and though out extremely well.

@@rebandmike Thanks for the feedback. Have you ever used the Toro Commercial 21" mowers? I'm trying to compare this Scag 21 with the Toro ones. I have a Toro 21" commercial and love it but this new Scag looks great and is actually cheaper than the Toro commercials where I am. Just wanted to get some feedback before getting one. Thank You.

Every mower is going to bog up hill with the blades on. These are small engines not v8s

@@optimuscrime608 friend has the 52” and his doesn’t do anything. Mine done with the blades off. Figured that out when I dropped it off at dealer.

Tachometers vary a lot depending on model and manufacturer. We highly recommend bringing this or any other questions to an authorized Vanguard dealer. Sorry we cannot be more help on this one!

Thanks for sharing that valuable feedback. I want to add another 21" commercial. I usually bag or mulch. I already have a Toro commercial 21 mower. I love the Toro but they've gotten really expensive where I am. I was looking at the Scag 21. It's priced at about $2600 where I live. I was also looking at the Honda HRC216...it's priced at $1729. If the Scag has that design flaw with bagging, I'm not sure if it's worth the extra money over a Toro. Thanks.

For a property with “very steep hills” maneuverability of the mower will be of great importance to you. A smaller machine will provide better maneuverability, so therefore, in your application the SFC21 is the more maneuverable machine. According to the owners manual the drive control bar can be engaged partially in order to adjust your speed on the fly in addition to the 3 speed variable transmission.

We are not sure if there is plans to upgrade the SFC30 to 3 speeds, currently just 1 speed.

They can be adjusted for taller or shorter people. There is no telescoping rods - but they angle at the base can be adjusted.

Hey thanks for your question. The black 4 pin connector is to be used with a wireless controller. If you are you using a wired controller, this connector can be capped.

Hey thanks for your question! The 730 unit can burn the following fuels: K-1 Kerosene, Low Sulfur #1 Heating Oil, Ultra Low Sulfur #2 Heating Oil, or Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel Fuel. Please note, when burning fuels other than K-1 Kerosene, it should be expected that it will result in a dirtier burn where more exhaust and combustion contaminants will then exist.

Hey thanks for your question. We do not recommend using high lift blades without removing the Hurricane Mulch kit. High lift blades are designed to discharge while the mulch baffles are designed to do the opposite.
