    Scag is quality equipment, but they missed it with this behemoth. Castors have not changed the fact that this machine weighs 250lbs and as folks say ,"It's built like a tank" hence it maneuvers like one and will beat the heck out of you during a 10 hr day. Get two crews, give one crew this scag, give one crew a YBravo Gen II (25" 130lbs, FJ 180, $1400) and I would bet the crew with the YBravo 's monthly production will be higher and their fatigue lower. I owned the Ferris FW 15 (and it had a reverse) and it will beat you up. Selling it and going with the YBravo was the smart move for my business.

      Gerald Lawn Service - we appreciate your comment here! Have you had a chance to try one with the swivel wheel kit yet?

      @@KPMExceptional I appreciate your response. I must reiterate , Scag is a great brand. I just think your R&D missed the mark and the engineers...well do what engineers do. They tell you the square root of a jar of pickles but can't get the lid off to save their lives...( A little oil field humor) I have not seen a castor model. If I see one ill stop and watch them operate it and speak with them. My thoughts on this category is to reduce weight, increase power, innovate a propel system and lower cost. Think about it.... You don't see FW15 on the majority of trailers, in fact you see very few, when you get to the category the SFC is leaning towards you see sulkies or stand ons. Trying to compete against Toros and Exmarks 30" is tuff. Turfmaster HDX now has the same motor on it as SFC and weighs 45lbs lighter. But then there is a huge gap between $2800 commercial 30" and $1500 mowers . The reason folks love the Timemaster is its 30", light, short wheel base(27" which is why its so maneuverable), and has a self propel system 80% of people love and $1500. Which is huge compared to $2500 to $3600 price range of 30"-36" walk behinds. Heavier and bigger is not what we are looking for. We need something commercial grade under 150lbs that mulches, bags , discharges wet grass in the morning and doesn't beat you to death at 3pm when its 100 degrees. And does this for under 2K.

    any tips or an easier way to get that bag on after you dump the grass, who was the genius that designed that

      we actually shot a special video just to help with your question. You can watch it here: czcams.com/video/GD3M61Iu5wY/video.html
      Basically, the idea is to hold your hand in a downward facing grip. The normal human tendency is to grab with an upward facing grip, which prevents you from getting enough lift to easily match the bagger up with the slots.
      FYI Scag is aware of this challenge. We'll see what comes in the future! We're lucky that Scag is constantly improving their products in general. Hopefully this makes the list soon.

    There are two things I would like to see. First adding a nice textured rubber over mold on the two bail handles like you find on the toro and exmark commercial 30 in mowers. The second thing I would like to see is this mower but with a 21 in deck.

    Is there a video that shows how to install the caster kit on the original scag sfc 30

    What is the part # for the caster wheel kit? How can I order? I bought 1 last year without the caster wheels.

    • @KPMExceptional
      @KPMExceptional  Před 2 lety +1

      The part number is 925H - you can order from your local Scag dealer. Give them a call or stop by today!

      As you probably know, there are supply chain challenges everywhere right now. If you're serious about the kit, make sure your dealer knows it so he can order from their distributor!

    What are the lengths for the blades?

    • @KPMExceptional
      @KPMExceptional  Před 2 lety

      15 and 1/4" is the measurement of the blade. There are 2 on this unit. The SFC30 gives a true 30" cut width.

    It looks like you are struggling to make the turns l, even with the caster wheels. Did it really make it feel incredibly lighter? Why do you say to only turn it with one hand? It looks like you used 2 hands when going around the trees. Just curious because I love thebidea of this mower, but I don't want something that totally exhausts me after one lawn. Thanks for the video

      It'll probably make it 25% easier to turn, as the rear axle may be solid ( unless there's a differential )..... looking at him turning it indoors, seemed pretty easy....and outside with the engine running, he was probably losing control of the mower because those drive control bars are hard to dial in, like the Exmark.

      @KPMExceptional  Před 2 lety

      @@Pure_KodiakWILD_Power that is pretty much exactly right. The operator here is not an experienced operator either - once you have a little while with the machine, you get used to it.

    Now I got one more thing to ask for balance maybe move the engine up a few inches and see if it help’s!
