All jokes aside, I love how Fran responds to Twinkle's ideas. She winks to the audience because KIDS ARE SMARTER THAN MOST PEOPLE THINK and then she praises her for trying and then offers a reason why it wouldn't work without insulting the idea or tearing her down. This method encourages Twinkle to stay creative while also helping her reach a realistic solution, which is a very beneficial thing for kids to see.
And now you've reminded me why she was my favorite in the entire show.
Good point!
Too bad all Twinkle (or anyone else who thinks of their idea depending on the episode in question) ever says in response is, “Aw, pickles!”, as though she’s somewhat frustrated that her ideas, while good, creative, and somewhat smart, cannot realistically be put to good use.
Frans an asshole No Cap
Yeah, but there was that one episode where Kip's dad is dancing to CD and the CD starts skipping, and the kids don't know why, so Twinkle has one of her ideas that it was the work of some character she made up, but instead of what you said, Fran basically says: "Nope. I'm not humoring you this time, Twinkle. That is not what happened." Before explaining the actual problem.
and this is another reason why this show should have been given the spotlight instead of Cocomelon
5:01 So regarding Meowth, it's not JUST because he wanted to. There's a little more to it than that. Meowth came across another Meowth named Meowzie. She rejected him because she preferred humans. So Meowth attempted to make himself more human-like by learning a language and walking upright. When he tried again, she once again rejected him, calling him a freak and choosing to be with a Persian. Heartbroken, he was inspired to join Team Rocket as the first word he learned was rocket.
Omg i want to make an AU where meowth and meowzie actually get together because she realizes most humans suck and so they both join team rocket!! i wanna draw it
Oh crap I remember that. He learned to talk because he's a simp.
Yep.
Meowth learned how to speak English because he was down bad.
why do you watch so many of the same things as me avery 😭
That explained how Meowth is one of the few Pokemons that can able to speak.
I love that children’s shows always unintentionally create horrors and creepy lore
Right? Like people act that Teletubbies is the worst offender, so innocent
That's why I'm subbed to her lol.
i love the emphasis they put on the fact that literally anyone can be a “hero” no matter how mundane their job may seem
Yess LOL!! Even the pizza guy was a hero and the kids were always so happy to see him
I remember watching that show during the Playhouse Disney era as a kid and it shows that everyone can be a hero no matter what ambition you have chosen. I find it weird that the town full of egg shaped people reminds me of those Matryoshka dolls.
I see you everywhere
@@kittydogDiamond true
it is a matryoshka
Okay, but I literally love your pfp
Same here I remember playhouse Disney…good times
Speaking of dinosaurs, you should try the Dinosaur Train next and explore the implications of dinosaurs being sentient and time travel and all that
Oh my gosh yes I love dinosaur that theme song slaps and it's about science and dinosaurs and trains
Not to mention the fact that they can only travel to different periods in the mesozoic era using the time tunnels because after this about 250million or so year period the cretaceous paleogene extinction took place wiping out most prehistoric archosaurian reptiles mainly the dinosaurs, because there can't be a dinosaur train after this period if they're all dead.
I loved Dinosaur Train!
@@CemeterySoup Matter of fact, the final episode has them travel outside of the Mesozoic era, into the Ice Age.
Same I love dinosaur train
If you’re curious, the “Blackhole with stuff they need in emergency situations” has a name.
It’s called Hammer space.
Excuse me, a WHOMST?! For all 15 years of my life watching Higglytown Heroes, i've never heard them give their pouch a name, but i'll take your word for it lol. Where did you get this information?
EDIT: Nevermind, I'm just being an idiot 🥴
It came from the internet.
Plus, TVTropes have cartoons that use this
That’s what I said!
You should look into the lore of PJ masks. My daughter loves that show but the more you watch it as an adult, the more concerned you become not only for the hero children but especially for the "villain" kids. Who seem to be either completely alone, ignored by over-worked parents, or over-run with younger siblings they're obviously not equipped to be babysitting
isn't Luna an orphan? I remember a Christmas episode where the kids scold her for stealing the toys and are met with her being confused as to what the fuck they're talking about and explain Christmas and the whole thing with the toys and she says something like "I don't have parents so I never got any presents." or "My parents never bought *me* presents." either way I remember that at the end she returned the toys she stole because she felt bad about taking away Christmas and I think the PJ masks give her one toy as a gift? since they were like "holy shit girl please get therapy"
I think she also redeemed herself after that episode? like she showed up less and at some point said she wouldn't do villainy anymore.
@@chocomelo454 she never said she doesn't have parents, but she does say she's all alone, and doesn't have anyone to be with, alluding to her not having any parents. And yeah, it does kinda start up a sort of redemption arc for her. In another episode about a statue, we learn that she's never received a gift before. Luna is probably one of the most upsetting villains in a kids show aimed at 2-4 year olds I've ever seen. But when you watch, all 3 of the main villain kids seem to just be that way because they want attention. Luna being the most obvious of them.
I loved PJ Masks, I still kinda do, but when season 4 came everything went to shit for me
They started introducing new characters with NO EXPLANATION of how they got here, we weren't truly introduced to Octabella, she was just suddenly, there (in my IShy Lore I said she was Squidward's daughter who ended up being raised by Plankton because Squidward didn't want SpongeBob and Patrick influencing her personality), there was only A SINGLE character introduced in season 4 who got a TRUE introduction, and it was a MONKEY that didn't have to be there
I still like the show, I just stopped watching it because it got something I like to call "late series Paw Patrol syndrome"
Good Hyila I’ve gotta rewatch Masks
I remember being concerned for ALL THE KIDS, because dude, you can't just run around ALL NIGHT with NO SLEEP WHATSOEVER, it just isn't healthy, man!
Pizza Guy was the coolest character in all of fiction. No one can surpass him in terms of awesomeness.
I wondered if he was a pedo as I got older, because he's 21 and hanging out with little kids. But I could say the same things about Chef from south park though considering what happened later. shit
Fun fact, the voice Dee Bradley Baker used for him was inspired by his brother in law
@@mr.x2567 I'm sorry did you say Dee Bradley Baker???
When I was little I had a crush on him
Except Skeet from Jimmy Neutron
My canon is Fran Fine ended up divorcing Mr. Sheffield, shopped at a Russian store in the city where she found a magical nesting doll, bought it, and then she was transformed into a squirrel and transported to Higglytown.
Not the only show out of order, Dan Povenmire of Phineas & Ferb even pointed out that the episodes of his show were out of order when Disney+ was first released. Disney+ needs to get their act together. And when it comes to heroes, I don't need to learn about how to become a hero when I already AM one
I don’t like the idea it was a divorce. Maybe after the kids moved out instead? They’d only have Grace left. Wait no... there’s Fran’s twin children Jonah and Eve. Part time job then?
Wow, Kim, I didn’t know you liked this show
Bro u spoiled it
We all Stan Dan Povernmire, he even pointed out where one person was trying to direct kids to mpreg 💀
The airing order for season 1 was a mess. It's especially noticeable in "Evil Boys" where Candace referenced multiple episodes that hadn't aired yet.
There is a canon reason Meowth learned ro speak like humans. He wanted to impress a girl Meowth he liked, but after he showed off his new skill, she thought he was weird and rejected him.
One thing I like is how the heroes are a good mix of academics, blue collar workers, service workers, medical professionals, white collar workers, and artists. Teaching kids that the person who collects the trash or cuts their hair or delivers their pizza is just as worthy of respect as a doctor or lawyer can only be a good thing.
To be honest the Kratt Brothers seem like a good idea for this format. It almost seemed like Kim Possible but with animals and for elementary school kids at times.
It's WILD KRATTS dammit, learn your lore!
I need to see how Zooboomafoo fits into the Wild Kratts lore.

Also I'm Russian on my dad's side and matryoshka or nesting dolls have been a part of Russian culture since 1890 when Vasily Zvyozdochkin made the first one. Traditional nesting dolls are just mothers, and this chain of mothers meant to symbolize mothers carrying on their family's legacy by having babies. Watching the show gave me an excuse to learn about my heritage.
Pff…my favorite TMBG song is obviously the Oblongs theme song

wow... Higglytown sounds pretty nice
normally societies in kids' shows are pretty hellish when you peel back a few layers, but this sounds like a pretty good place to live
Yeah usually in kids shows they don't think it all through because 2 years won't be looking deep into it
I think it would be awesome if you did a Jake and the Neverland Pirates lore video. I’ve been rewatching it with my brother and holy shit the lore. It’s crazy. Sophia the First is also crazy. Both of those just connect everything together so weirdly. Sophia the First is the one that comes to mind first. It had almost every classic Disney princess interacting with Sophia in some way, which sort of ties into the Pixar Theory. Same with Jake and the Neverland Pirates, but that’s not a lot like Sophia the First, as they’re just in Neverland and involved with Peter Pan and Wendy and all those other kids and people.
I was SO excited when Peter finally appeared in Neverland Pirates.
The map kept changing! That was always so funny/confusing to me, because it shows exactly the same island(Neverland, of course)
OH GOD I REMEMBER THAT A
@@michaelcheng9987 ah, but that's a canonical snippet of lore from the original Peter Pan, I believe. Neverland changes itself around depending on how it feels. You could go to sleep in a forest and wake to discover the Neverland went "eh, not really feeling it anymore" and changed the 500 year old forest into a chain of mountains. The Neverland is if an insecure teenage girl turned into a mass of land. It's the epitome of "felt cute, might delete later" lol
I used to try and piece together the lore of Jake and the Neverland Pirates as a kid and it contradicts with the fairy movies which made me really frustrated lol
For one of your next videos, I'd reccomend checking out the lore of the very obscure Playhouse Disney/Hub Network show Animal Mechanicals. It's basically a PAW Patrol-like show that consists on a group of robot animals, each with different abilities like super strength or super speed. However, there's a lot of stuff to unpack, from one of the characters getting hurt on every episode (kinda like the preschooler-friendly equivalent of "Oh My God! They Killed Kenny!") and not getting helped by the others in those moments to the fact that another character is a unicorn that not only can gain wings but also control weather, thus having two super-abilities in comparison to the others' previously mentioned one-note abilities. Did I also mention that this robot unicorn can control weather via magic?
Ah right. A mouse, a unicorn, a komodo dragon, and a freakin' -bigfoot- sasquatch.
@@poweroffriendship2.0 There's also a T-Rex who goes into dr♡g addict mode whenever he comes across food. Another thing to unpack.
THAT SHOW WAS THE SH1T
OMG YOU JUST MADE ME REMEMBER MY CHILDHOOD
I was OBSESSED with Animal Mechanicals as a kid. I had a whole premise in my head for the world that they come out of to do missions.
I remember watching this show a lot, I vividly remember the pregnancy episode and thinking "why don't they just open her up like how everyone does"
One show that I really want to see someone talk about is Octonauts. There is a surprising number of people on Tumblr who are involved in some weird Octonauts fandom and I'm so confused and wondering why. The only way I'd actually check out the supposed lore of Octonauts would be if you did a video on it, though, which is why I'm suggesting it. I love these videos of yours. They're some of my favorite videos on CZcams.
Who chooses which animals are anthropomorphic!?
Where did the Vegimals truly come from!?
Is Shellington secretly the most powerful being in the universe!? (I had him on my story Miitopia team and he was extremely OP)
@IShy2 ok hang on now I really want to do a playthrough of miitopia with octonauts characters lmao.
The Octonauts are so cute and yet I really want Athena to ruin them for me
As soon as I read the title then saw the thumbnail I had a realization, I nearly dropped my phone and it's like part of my mind finally clicked into place. This show has been in faint barely legible memories, and finally I can put it to name. Thank you.
If Higglytown Heroes was made now days, there would be an episode where a Karen shows up and the hero is the manager
Though in classic Higgly fashion, the Karen would see the error of her ways in an unrealistic way

Bear in the Big Blue House is finally coming to Disney+ on Wednesday, in case you need some new lore ideas.
So glad to see someone analyse shows that were so specific to my era (born in 1998). I remember being so annoyed with the fence episode and wondered why they didn't just paint their respective sides of the fence the colours they wanted (one side purple, the other yellow etc). That's still a compromise and you spare the Higgly people of looking at an eyesore of a fence for the rest of their days 😂
Tis was everything. I unironically watched this show even though I was "too old for it". What can I say, the formula was soothing. Is Blue's Clues too ambitious for the next lore video?

-Little Einsteins - If you thought Higglytown Heroes was weird, well, IT WAS. But this makes it look normal when you really think about it.
-The Doodlebops - Not an animated show but still a bizarre, wacky one that I think needs more attention. It's almost as if Pee-Wee's Playhouse got put in a blender with Yo Gabba Gabba and the Wiggles.

You should do an episode on the 4kids TV show Viva Piñata which is based on the game with the same name. The show had 2 seasons and many of them were freaking insane. There's literally an episode where a character gets arrested for cannibalism and is catapulted to the moon for his punishment and another one where the same character attempted murder on a bowl of fruit.
More notable is the cannibalism episode was the series finale
I remember the Game Grumps playing the game… There was an insane show? Intriguing.
A wild show i think she should tackle (but probably never will) is The Adventures of Sam & Max: Freelance Police. Weirdest cartoon i've ever seen, and an extremely weird choice for a cartoon adaptation. It started as comics, but then got the very popular point & click video game, Sam & Max Hit the Road - both of which were intended for at least older teens, if not adults. The weirdest part is that minus the guns and swearing, the cartoon is the most faithful adaptation to the original comics, outright recreating some of them. The origin of the cartoon isn't the weird part though, it's the content. The whole series is bizarre, with very out there concept that make you wonder if the creators were high, if it weren't for the surprisingly intelligent dialogue. I'm not sure if "intelligent" is the right word to describe it, but they use a lot of big words and run-on sentences that can make you go "wait, what?" The already bizarre nature of the show combined with the confusing dialogue is made *even more* confusing due to the breakneck pacing of the show. At least the comics and games allowed viewers time to breathe and process what they're looking at. There's also a key factor that makes Sam & Max's humor unique - there's not really a straight man. Normally you have at least one character who is grounded and asks "wtf is happening?" Not with Sam & Max. Nobody questions they weirdness, and so the weirdness just keeps piling on.
TL,DR; I think it'd be really funny to watch Athena try to piece together wtf she just watched
This show would’ve been more tolerable if for example they included more of the human characters from the games, Like leafos and her family. Also, I believe fergie is the real main villain of the show since he does a variety of crimes while Professor pester’s crimes all involve trying to steal candy.
My cousins used to love this show lol! We hated Chuggington (weird ass train show) but it was the show that played before Higglytown Heroes so we forced ourselves to watch Chugginton just so we wouldn’t miss Higglytown Heroes.
Chuggington vid when?
Given it’s another one of those “talking vehicle shows” it has unintentionally weirdimplications, especially with how the engines are robots and this might be set in a dystopia.
I remember being annoyed that chuggington existed as a little kid. Even then I knew it was a blatant rip-off of Thomas the train.
I actually liked Chuggington, I didn't care that it was a Thomas ripoff, I liked it better because it was more cartoony (same with CGI Thomas yes I know I'm weird)
But I'd kinda do the same with Super Why, one of the shows that came before it was a show called Tree Fu Tom, which I hated but I forced myself to watch it because I HATED missing Super Why
Edit: Besides, using this technique, I found other shows I liked, Lazy Town, Chole's Closet, etc (I swear, Chole's Closet was crazy and I can't wait for that lore video to come out sometime (sadly one of those shows was Caillou, and I accidentally LIKED it))
I actually really enjoyed Chuggington; I started watching it before Thomas, btw, and I never really knew then that people thought Chuggington was a ripoff, and when I did I was all, "Really dude?"
I'm surprised you didn't overanalyze my favorite part of the "Tinkle has a plan" parts: the fact that it's one of those bits where a character makes a ridiculously elaborate plan, and someone else goes "that's a brilliant idea, but there's one flaw: insert the most basic, smallest nitpick here."
So, whenever Fran finds a flaw in her wacky ideas, it's usually something very small and minor. Like, when the entire town come to help count ducks on motor boats (don't ask), and the ducks stop singing along with them, Tinkles assumes that they're beaks we're stuck with bubble gum they got from a mermaids birthday party, but apparently the reason that couldn't happen is because ducks don't like bubble gum. Or, apparently, the only reason why sending mice through the sewers to get into a bathroom one of the grandparents is stuck in to shrink them so they can get out wouldn't work is because they might end up in another bathroom.
So... Does that mean mermaids and mice with shrink ray technology exist in this world?
Is that so hard to believe?
I like to think it's because Twinkle's a smart kid, just with a really wild imagination, and Fran wants to help her improve her logic skills without crushing her imagination too much. Fran will tell her an animal can't do something, but she won't tell her that animal doesn't exist.
Honestly that's how I'd approach it with a young kid. Never thought I'd learn something from a nesting doll squirrel at my age lmao
Anyone could be a mermaid, or other centauroid hybrid, on this show now that I think about it, just swap bottom halves with the animal of choice

This was great. I was just talking to a friend about how weird this show was in retrospect
Another show I’d love to see a deep dive on is Imagination Movers from playhouse Disney. No one seems to remember this one and the beige guy lives rent free in my head
I remember that. I liked scotty.
BRO I USED TO WATCH THAT ALL THE TIME
I remembered the theme song but forgot what the show was called
THANK YOU
Do Veggietales please the lore of that world would split your mind in two
Honestly I think this has to be my favorite out of the "lore of" series. I was crying-laughing at some parts.
This is not only the only video I have ever seen about Higglytown Heroes, but it's also the best. Thank you for making me think way too hard about a show I haven't watched since I was 5.
I used to love watching this when I was a kid! Not gonna lie you genuinely unlocked a lot of past memories I had from my childhood
Also I love the way you call Fran a clingy bitch.
The fact that I still remember the tune of the Higglytown heroes says a lot
You should do a lore video on Dinosaur Train. It's a really sweet show and surprisingly holds up after all this time, but I think you'd have a field day with how wacky it can be.
I loved the show because of the characters and cute messages, not because of the weird concept. I thought the concept was strange but unique too. At least it's better than the shows they have for kids now.
also, there's a show I like that was based off a children's book series called "Scaredy Squirrel" and it also has some mysteries to be solved too. I can't tell if it's anthropomorphic animas in a universe with no humans, or if there's humans and we just don't see them. There were hints in the show that there could possibly go by humans, they also go by animal years, and also, there were humans in the books. The audience Scaredy Squirrel tv show was made for older kids, but the books are for all ages. It aired on Disney XD, Cartoon network, and Qubo channel. I'd love to see a video on that.
For your next one could you try doing one for Wow wow wubbzy? or if you wanna continue with the "non-human but kind of human theme" maybe you could try doing one for Oobie? I know that one isn't talked about a lot
I enjoy these analysis on preschool shows! You should do the wonder pets!
If I remember correctly, there was an episode where Twinkle does her idea thing and Fran was like, "Wait, that could actually work!"
I watched this when I was young, I dont really remember much but I do remember one episode where the hero was a sign language interpreter and that episode basically normalized disabilities for me at that young age
They actually have an episode about how Meowth learned to talk and why
I was really missing out on this show 😔
Lovely to see another lore vid, though! I know they take a lot of effort, but they’re always such a joy, and this one is no exception! :) I’m always happy to wait if it means another delightful conspiracy theory joyride. For future ones, I have a few good contenders!
-FETCH! (short for Fabulously Entertaining TV with Canine Host) With Ruff Ruffman is legendary, and the storyline and Ruff’s family tree near the end get a little bonkers
-Oobi is not something I personally have watched, but the characters are sentient hands, so I think you’d have quite a time with that
-Lastly, The Big Comfy Couch has a lot of interesting characters, and a clown society (just like real life 😔💔)
These are all just suggestions ofc :) I can’t wait to see what future vids bring!
I was “too old” for this show when it came out, but watched it anyways.
It actually helped me in teaching me how to use landmarks to not get lost!

5:12
"-at some point my FAVORITE stoner Pizza Guy comes in and greets them with something like 'Oh ho, what's up my little higgily wigglies?' And then when he leaves he goes 'Cheese ya later' AND he's also hot for some reason! Also, apparently I've never had an original thought in my life because somebody on Twitter thought the exact same thing!-"

I was looking for this comment specifically for the mentioning of Kurtis Conner and Drew Gooden.
@@SamExceptNotSam wow now I know who the other person is
Bro, I wanna see a Curious George or Doc McStuffins video. Both have always spawned questions for me, especially the latter.
You always seem to dig up things from my childhood that I swear my brain has been surprising for years, just everytime it’s “Oh I forgot about that!!” It’s really a lot of fun thanks
Your sense of humor is right up my alley, I was cackling the whole time. Thank you for going as far as you did with this, I am so glad that my brain now contains an encyclopedia’s worth of Higglytown deep lore. Also I just want to say your singing voice is pretty lovely.
The way my eyes lit up when you used drews and Kurtis connors jokes was unfathomable. I love when my fav creator's clash 💙
I forgot what part of the video its at where is it
You should do one for The Doodlebops, The Wiggles, Angelina Ballerina, or maybe Kipper
I think Doodlebops and The Wiggles have interesting lore. I liked The Doodlebops,The Wiggles and Angelica Ballerina.
Now this is the GOOD content I expect to see on this App!!! I also recommend going into the lore of bubble guppies
I didn't even realize I watched these shows until you unearthed this memory that my brain physically tried to kill with fire
Coming to this channel always brings up memories from the deep recesses of my mind of shows I haven’t thought about in a decade or more.
Bro, I TOTALLY forgot about the pizza guy! I remember the episode where the little girl tried to show art to an artist she didn't know was blind and then go "wuUUAAat?". But I did not remember the king pizza guy. My sister and I used to watch this strictly to make fun of it. Ah, good times.
My favorite thing about this kid's media deep lore series is the vaguely ironic tone it started with or was maybe inspired by, followed by the legitimate and frantic tumble you take into each rabbithole, which? Keep getting weirder??? 😆
Ah! A fellow Higglytown Heroes fanatic. I make loads of videos about this show and they have gotten me thousands of viewers who remember watching it when they were little. I always loved Twinkle and Wayne. They are an adorable sibling pair of an outgoing sister and a timid brother. October 17, 2022, 3:11pm
Wait... Twinkle and Wayne are brother and sister?
i really appreciate your videos. i have pretty bad amnesia so my childhood is really foggy. but your videos really help me piece things together. thank you. ^^
I seriously thought that this show was a fever dream I had for so long. It never felt real, but I always remembered it. Seeing this video unlocked a core memory for me
I recommend Round the Twist. The Australian children's show about a single father and three children that move into a lighthouse and have to deal with paranormal creatures like ghosts, dragons, and seagulls. Every episode is on CZcams.
THE NANNY REFERENCE HELP, brought back memories and was funny
If you're ever in the mood for something (sadly only somewhat) more mainstream/outside the preschool rabbit hole, My Life as a Teenage Robot lures you in with a cute robot girl fighting crime but has a metric ton of disturbing shit happen if you stop to think about any of it.
Athena, I beg of you on my hands and knees to PLEASE give us an Octonauts lore video. I will be able to die peacefully after that has become a reality.
I can remember every episode of Robotomy but 100% forget this shows entire existence, the human brain is a funny thing
Girl I didn’t even remember this show until I saw the thumb nail with the girl in pink and the boy in blue😅 you’re just waking up my deepest childhood memories over hear. I love the weird shows you talk about!!☺️ it’s refreshing to have my childhood fever dreams of random clips of shows I saw make more sense, without me having to watch the entire show lol
Higglytown Heroes has always been missing a few Vigglytown Villains to oppose the Heroes. October 17, 2022, 3:12pm
This is not the video I expected to find subtle Fulmer-shade in, but my goodness, am I delighted to find it.
This had me on the floor laughing. There are some shows that I’m curious if they are lore worthy. Dragon tales that was on PBS Kids, Rollie Pollie Ollie on Playhouse disney, and Dora the explorer (there’s actually also a show called go Diego go which follows her cousin named Diego) those are just to name a few for a future video. Keep doing what your doing girl ❤❤
Thank you for reminding me about this fever dream of a show. 😂
Higglytown heroes was my go to after violently vomiting in a bowl because of acid reflux at 3:00 am as a 4 year old. Can't wait to learn about the juicy lore!
