  • Lifelong Chelsea fan, former player and coach, Jody Morris was this week’s special guest on No Tippy Tappy Football. Jody joined Big Sam Allardyce and Natalie Pike to give an insight on Maurico Pochettino, the shift away from academy players and his reaction to Thiago Silva's wife seemingly taking to social media to criticise the manager.
The former midfielder, and former Swindon Town manager opened up about his time working with Frank Lampard, coaching in the Chelsea academy system and how he's ready to get back into the game.
Other topics covered include Jody’s experience at Lilleshall, playing with Rio Ferdinand in the England school boys and the ambition of Sir Jim Ratcliffe to build Manchester United a new stadium.
Big Sam also answers community questions about whether or not he would return to former clubs Crystal Palace and Blackburn Rovers.
All of this and more in the latest episode of the No Tippy Tappy Football series, brought to you by William Hill.

Would have been nice to have heard more from Jody. Sam loves the sound of his own voice. 🤣

I agree with this. I like Sam and helps the conversation, but many of the questions were all about other people and not about Jody himself. Felt there could have been more from Jody.

Allardyce needs to let Jody talk- I’ve listened to all of these and this was the hardest to hear. Non-stop interruptions from Sam.

I believe that big Sam would of gone into Chelsea sat back watched his coaching staff and how the Chelsea players react to his training methods and he would know who's staying and who's going there wouldn't be 2 team talks across 2 dressing rooms like Potter were doing he would of been to the players that he didn't fancy get on to your agents and speak to the board but you ain't gunna be part of this squad end of big decisions

There hasn't been any shift away from using academy players. This season we have seen 10 academy players play in the first team with another 4 who have been subs but not got on the pitch yet. And if Chalobah hadn't been injured all season then that figure would be 11 academy players.
Last season there were Premier Lge games when half the 10 outfield players were academy players. That's 5 academy players on the pitch at the same time for those of you not very good at maths.

Why the hell is she half defending Thiago’s wife, simply because women must always stick together? Imagine if her partner took to X to complain about Sam always interrupting her or something? She’d be fuming

Love football podcasts but my god she's a hard listen! Comes across as an air head! shame another potential good podcast wasted due to box ticking, compared to other footy podcasts seems very poor due the awkwardness nothing seems relaxed about it! And the poor presenting! Just my humble opinion!
