This was a review unit sent to me by the manufacturer. All opinions are my own, they did not see this review ahead of time, and no money was exchanged in any way.

#8bitdo #xbox #switch - Hry
The glossy plastic makes me not want to buy it. If they just made it with a frosted look, it wouldn't show scratches as easily. The fact that it has lights inside also highlights any scratches that form.
It’s called planned obsolescence. If it shows scratches easily, people are more likely to buy a new one down the road even if it still works.
They need to make this compatible with their controllers too
This is pretty nice, I always enjoy having a nice simple charging solution especially for Xbox Controllers. I was trying to get an Xbox for Christmas but no luck but perhaps around new years I can try again :D
Dual Charging Dock? Just what I've been looking for. Now I need to make one single friend...
Tinder has a friends mode I think. You could also try meetup and look for some activity you might be into.
@@TheMysteryDriver everyone i met on tinder wanted to be only friends so i can fully recomend it
@@obvious_giraffe8386 🤣😭
That's the best part. You don't. I've got 7 controllers and no friends.
Picked up the Sony dock for DualSense on Black Friday, mostly on a whim, and it's honestly great. Seemed kinda unnecessary, but it looks much nicer and is much less fiddly to use than cables. Well worth (half the) money.
Thanks for the video.
Wish the clear part was available in black
I think they look amazing! So why don’t they make one for 8bitdo’s own Pro 2? I got two of them ready to charge!
the lite 2 is great for pocketing a dual-stick emulation controller for your phone!
Hi Russ! I'm curious about why AAs get a bad wrap. Eneloop rechargable AA and AAA batteries are amazing and Soooo much cheaper. They are not only compatible with almost every xbox controller, they even work in my 8bitdo, once I pulled its battery, and in tv remotes and toys of all kinds. There are a few things in my house that aren't ok with 1.2 volt AAs, but my thermostat wasn't getting charged by 8bitdo anyway. I just don't get the appeal of proprietary batteries.
It's because people will cheap out on rechargeables really and they blame the concept instead of the $10 kit that includes batteries. Also it can be annoying to take them out, chargem and put em back in, God forbid ya lose one while your at it.
They don't.
@@Dracossaint You are very right. Every basic kit comes with the worst charger for the batteries. I never liked rechargeables till I spent a little extra on a real charger with modes and refreshing. Suddenly all my batteries just worked like you think they should and it's all because the cheap chargers are awful. I honestly wonder if the generic chargers work the way they do to make people hate rechargeables and keep people buying disposables.
Russ, this might come as a surprise, but I love you.
I don't really like the look of that Charging Dock, but having a dock is a nice idea by itself. Would be nice if it would be possible to use it for their own controllers, I love having 8bitdo controllers around.
I konw you touched on it a little bit but how would you rate the "dropability". the issue I have with my current one it required some jigiling to get it charging
great video, but unrelated question; where did you get that stand for the Series S?
I want to know too :)
Can you charge it while the battery is inside the controller trough the usbc?
I think the amber charging light should offer an "off" setting. I have my consoles in my bedroom and the charging light on a PS4 controller is annoying enough!
How long does the battery life last on these?
I'm thinking of getting a series s to casually play some games with my roommate and this looks like it might be useful to have
mine stopped workin pretty much right away. super hard to get the controller to get a contact to take charge. very sat becacuse ut look awesome..
Does this work with xbox elite controllers?
I'd be down for a single controller variant for half the price
What you really want is some Eneloops and a real battery charger. When I say real battery charger I mean something designed to actually manage rechargeable batteries. Something with discharging and will analyze battery capacity for you. You get a real charger with some rechargeable batteries and you'll actually start wanting everything you just use AA or AAA batteries.
@@chronossage Do you have a specific one you'll recommend?
It had me at the orange charging lights.
Nice seeing you here
This is actually designed just for me. I never got around to getting a battery pack and I have two controllers - a series and a bluetooth one controller. Both are constantly used because my dad and I live together and play ufc 4 every day because we're giant mma nerds. 8bitdo read my mind
As Bruce once said, "Does it come in black?"
Wish I had watched a review before buying the Pro2. It's far too small for my hands, the buttons started sticking after a short time and some are now hyper sensitive to touch, the cord is far too short and not standard USB and while using an extension to the PC the cord constantly loses connection, it also loses Bluetooth connection somewhat often, even when only sitting about 6' from the PC.
On a good note, it does pair very well with almost every emulator I've used. Cannot say the same about the hot garbage Steam controller...
When your likes include a "click" sound it makes or the lights, when it's a charger, that's not a good sign. Just buy a set of Eneloop rechargeable AAs and call it a day.
honestly they should have done they lighting like they did with the ultimate controller dock casue that light just isnt it
If they did that for Wiimotes, I'm down.
I think you got your description of the two controller types backwards during the Introduction. The Xbox One Controllers are older than the Xbox Series Controllers. So it should be "And this dock works as a wireless charging solution for both the Xbox One Controllers and the more recent Xbox Series Controllers." Not a particularly big deal though, it works with both regardless.
I think he meant the "more recent" as in the later revision Xbox One controllers. As in those with Bluetooth. I may be overthinking though, because I don't think the battery cover was changed from the first to the second revision.
@@AmartharDrakestone Now that you mention it, the battery covers in the video do say that. But the battery cover indeed did not change between those variants of the Xbox One Controller. So this should be compatible with all regular Xbox One Controllers.
Just buy rechargeable Ikea batteries and a charger. Win /win.
😊
Too big and don't want another thing to plug in. I'll stick with rechargeable AA's.
Do not buy it
It’s not good
It says medium even if u charge it for 10 hours
Also the controller doesn’t just sit on the dock u need to make sure the pin match otherwise the light won’t turn on
Also scuf controller won’t work
Xbox controller on the Switch? Well, I never.
Really bad design decisions right there
