Honestly, can I say this has been one of your better videos because this is the first time I have seen a video of yours where there was plainly no shilling. The lack of Jimmy Complain also was refreshing because the only thing he does when he comes on your video is literally talks down to the console you are trying to be a proponent for while adding very little to your videos. This was well thought out, well organized and pretty objective. I think if you could do more videos like this and less of the shilling / speculative no sources rambling - your channel would do better.

You gotta use the right power adapter for the fire stick, it's notoriously finicky with power. The TV USB power could be as low as 500 mah. Fire stick will use way more power than that at idle, adding in Bluetooth, wifi and streaming and decoding, that firestick is being pushed to its limits. The wired Ethernet solves Internet lag, but it also has its own beefier power supply. It fixes a lot of issues since the power is coming from that.

@@XboxReady Thing is you might not see an issue under normal load, you would see a difference if you do something that uses more system resources. I've seen devices on amazon that are basically a USB plug and a small battery that are meant for installations where the only power option is the TV port. The stick can draw extra juice from the battery if there's a sudden spike in amperage. And the TV port can just charge the battery all the time.

  • @Dosnmeda

I assume the controller is connected via Blutooth, not the 2.4GHz proprietary signal? That would explain a lot of the lag. I can see it work as a supplement to your Xbox console, in cases like the one you mentioned in this video. But having people pay $20 a month to get the Ultimate tier to have THIS as their primary experience would be a tough sell. I wouldn't want this to be my introduction into gaming either, as the lag might mess with your head and make you believe that games are simply not for you. I tried the NVidea Shield with GeForce Now a while ago, and even though I hooked it up via ethernet cable, the additional lag introduced by connecting my Controller with Blutooth made gaming unenjoyable for me, once I plugged it in it did improve significantly but still suffered from the odd hitch, so I ended up sending it back. My favorite remote game experience is Playstation Remote. I got my Playstation plugged directly into my router and the router is plugged into my PC then the controller is plugged into my PC as well. It works, I don't have to buy any additional devices and it's not hidden behind any subscription paywalls.

What this means is at first it might work or it might work for years before failing but one day it will destroy your TV's usb port. Check your TV's specifications first before doing what this guy did because if your TV is a cheaper model the chance of it breaking is much higher. If your TV can supply 1 amp go for it but otherwise do not attempt.

The other thing about streaming most aren't aware of. If you don't have unlimited internet, there's no point in doing this. As a gamer you game for hours and hours. If you don't have unlimited internet bundled in your cable bill. You will always over use the data usage. Another thing, nobody should be streaming in Native 4k. One hour of 4k streaming is 15GB of wasted internet. That's why CZcams by default is on 360p. It's helping you, not hurting you.

Make sure you use something like wifi analyzer and select a free channel on your router. You only get lag and glitches when a neighbours wifi is overlapping yours on the same channel. Also have everything else in your home connect using the 2.4ghz and keep the 5ghz band for your firestick only. Setting the frequency to 80mhz will also give you more throughput. The fire stick also has MU-MIMO so turn that on in your router too, it usually only works when you turn 80mhz on first. Basically dial in your wifi connection and you'll have an almost seamless experience

I stream Xbox Cloud Gaming exclusively. Fits into my lifestyle. No games, accessories, consoles, cords. Just games when I want. Like having access to Geforce Now and Luna also. I personally only pay for Gamepass at this point.

My internet definitely isn’t fast enough for a fire stick

Does it do wifi 6? Or maybe the app just needs to be optimized (it is in testing right?)
I cloud game Starfield all day long on my ROG Ally... But I have gig speed internet and a wifi 6e Nighthawk setup.

This is awesome. You can play xbox on fire stick now so I can play upstairs in the bedroom without buying a whole 2nd xbox

The "double time" issue she described is definitely an Xbox problem. I've experienced it with multiple controllers and even replacing the thumbstick did not solve it. It's probably the software or signal.

Cloud gaming is absolutely shocking on the xbox itself why would they put it on a firestick?

This streaming thing seems like a good idea as it's just not remote play but streaming by the cloud alogether.

With the input lag, that may be from your router switching from a congested wifi channel to a less congested one. There's two ways to help alleviate this
    1) use a WiFi analyzer app on your phone to see what wifi channels are the most isolated and set your router to them manually
    2) You can get an ethernet adapter for the fire stick which will eliminate the issue of wifi channel congestion and make input lag much more consistent
In this situation streaming from the Series S to the fire stick would be a better option as it keeps everything on your home network, though I'm not sure if that's supported

The problem is if ur experience is most peoples first experience with it as well then 9/10 ppl are gonna give up on it without giving it a chance
