    • @Wistbacka
      @Wistbacka Před 7 lety +3

      I agree on everything, except about the camera angles; It is never good to create a camera angle like the one at 1:44. By looking away from the audience you kinda alienate the audience. It is a nice effect, and I have used it myself, but for the purpose you use it here (I pretty much used it in the same bad way) it is not very pleasing.
      I think it is more than okay that you just talk to one camera and have Nick shoot close-ups of you handling whatever item you review. Keep up the good work!

    • @Shadow0fd3ath24
      @Shadow0fd3ath24 Před 7 lety +1

      Wistbacka alienating the audience doesn't exist when most of the video you're staring at their face.
      most tv shows the people never look at the camera and the dont alienate for example

    • @SaltyMaud
      @SaltyMaud Před 7 lety +1

      Can't agree on good audio, this new studio has awful acoustics.

    • @Wistbacka
      @Wistbacka Před 7 lety

      ShadowOfDeath24 You are mixing up two different things now. What you are talking about now is watching one person or multiple persons interacting with other people and/or other things, and we observe that from a third person view.
      This is not the case here. Jayz is directly trying to communicate with us with direct eye contact and elaborated body gestures. Thus, changing the camera angle like at 1:44 makes it feel like he is turning away and talks to someone else. It is the same reason why it is so important news anchors know when to look into the next camera when they switch the angles. If Jayz turned and looked into the next camera, there would be no issues with the new angle.
      His VLOGS are a different thing, going back to the first thing I mentioned. We are then mentally prepared for a documentary style video where we observe him going about his daily life building stuff, preparing things and so on. Here we expect him to talk to us. It is also due to how he is set up now, compared to his old style of sitting by the desk. The standing BEHIND a desk signals a muche more direct contact to the audience.

    • @Wistbacka
      @Wistbacka Před 7 lety

    The 580 is nothing like the TitanXpp. Nothing!
    Nvidia could have released the TitanXpp right from the beginning! They didn't because they knew they could make a lot more money sitting on it, and releasing it just before Vega came out.
    Polaris, was in all likelihood, fucked up by Global Foundries (just like everything else they touch). That's why the first batch of 480s could only OC to about 1350, and recent 480s can OC well past 1400. The point being AMD released what they had. They weren't sitting on a better process, and just waiting to release it to make more money.

      @johnhandcock3242 Před 7 lety +1

      I am not sure what your point is. The 580 8gb card is actually poor perf/$. You can get a 1070 for as little as $310 nowadays, so buying a 580 for $270 is pretty stupid. It's sort of like buying a 1050ti, instead of a 470. You can get a 1050, which has nearly as much performance, but cost a lot less, and for a little more you can get a 470, which is MUCH faster. Here you can get a 570 or a 480 4 or even 8gb for a lot less, or you can buy the 1070 for a little more and get a lot more performance.

    I do agree with the conclusion, that getting a faster product for the same price is good. But it's not a better product in every aspect, the power draw is higher, which means more noise, heat or a stronger cooling is required. I believe the power connector is also different from the stock 480, this might affect some, but likely not many.
    So yea, it's a faster product for the same price, but at the expense of higher power draw.

      @philscomputerlab Před 7 lety +2

      Well but such tweaks have always been around, AMD put it into their drivers though. You can just enable V-Sync and you will see an instant reduction in power, we've been doing this since the 3dfx Voodoo 2 cards :D
      But that's something you can do with every card. I get your argument, but it's kinda like saying the Pentium 4 has speedstep to save power. It doesn't change that it was one power hungry CPU :)
