  • This is only a rough guide. You can do it completely different if you wish.
This works for all sn413 Jimnys with vacuum operated hubs.
This setup is still holding up after numerous glass house mountain trips, cape York and Western Australia tracks. (20,000km)
    Parts used are as follows:
-2x 26 spline manual hubs from a Sierra
-2x spacer rings. (These can be sourced easily online)
-4 paper gaskets for the mating surfaces
-12x longer bolts because you’re adding a plate in between. The original bolts won’t be long enough. You can measure this all up yourself.
    -Optional but recommended gasket maker

Done!!!! Thankyou so much, works a treat :) Green light kept flashing when I had finished and I thought it hadn't fixed it, but 1min later stopped, solid light and all working as intended - maybe it needs to build up vacuum for a min to get positive reading ... Thanks again

I solved the problem of the 4x4 functioning by mounting the tyrex manual hubs instead of the automatic hubs that always gave problems in my 2001 Suzuki Jimny 4x4 with m13a motor and to replace the automatic hubs and overhaul the vacuum system for inserting the 4x4 I would have spent many euros between spare parts and labor! (greetings from Florence Italy!)

Interesante , ...resulta que he encontrado que los cubos de conexion electrica son menos fuertes que los manuales y que ademas tienden a pegarse en algun bache y suena metal . Buen dato . gracias

Instead of running 2 bolts in the lines and cable tying them closed, its easier to just do the u-bend on both sides and just kink the u-bend which seals it. Personally i think its easier.

Do you have to block the vac lines off or is that to just stop the 4x4 light flashing

What type of grease do you recommend? I’ve just received new set of freewheeling hubs and was going to put them on soon.

  • @7wardie

Would these still work with wheel spacers?

Hi I'm just about to do mine. It's a 2005 vvt push button model. If I do as you've done with the lines is that all I need to do? I don't need to short any wires or anything? Thank you 😁

Is applicable on the standard front axel? So no other mods are needed? Tx

Do you need the spacer rings I bought some but they didn’t come with any it’s for a 2002 model? Thanks.
