How to BBQ a Turkey on the Weber Kettle~Easy Cooking

  • In this easy cooking video, I BBQ a turkey on my Weber Kettle charcoal grill. I used Royal Oak lump charcoal in my Slow 'N Sear amzn.to/2CdAXTQ and kept my vents wide open so the grill was pretty hot. I seasoned the turkey with The Rub by the J Christopher Company. The cooking time for this turkey was 2 hours and 15 minutes, but cooking times will vary depending on the size of your turkey and how hot your grill is.

This actually is one of the best looking turkeys I've ever seen done on the weber kettle. I think your rotating it was the secret and I've never thought up flipping it breast side down for the start which makes tons of sense because you know it's around 400 degrees near the top of the grill and only 330 near the bottom so you'd be overcookign the top of the breast before the inside was done if you left it breast up the whole time. And most poultry done on a kettle ends up looking like some kind of black burnt offering by the end but this was a beautiful golden color, I'm sure partially because you used no smoke wood. Have to try all this.

Thank you! I've tried cooking turkeys without rotating them like that and the breast was dry.

You should remove the turkey at 157 or 160 max because it keep cooking when resting and let it rest for an hour at least before you cut, will be more juicy.
