- "The Menu" is a movie about a group of high class individuals that dine at an exclusive restaurant that is run by a world renowned chef name Julian Slowik. Anya Taylor-Joy and Ralph Fiennes star in this dark comedy horror that features social commentary undertones. Hope you enjoy my reaction to my first time watch this wild and crazy story!

Tyler wasn't depressed and didn't want to die, he thought he, as a knowledgeable fan, would be exempt from it all. He thought he was going to live.
I mean, in a way, all movies are social commentary in a way. :P
I love that Erin's experience as a sex worker gives her the skills to basically dom her way through a role play and make Slowik let her go, she provided him with an experience, the joy of cooking a simple meal, and he should provide the compensation, her life. And she managed to get there without breaking the script of the evening, or the little scene she created.
Ahh yeah Tyler's plot definitely escaped me a bit. But yeah that entire cheeseburger scene at the end there was just so good!
I don’t know that he thought he was going to live, just that he wanted the “experience of a lifetime” so badly that he was willing to pay literally any price.
the female chef that stabbed Chef in the leg was always a bit interesting to me...and I realized one day watching another reactor that it's the same spot where Chef stabbed his abusive father when he was choking out his mom. Man's Folly...that symbolism is fantastic.
Imagine Tyler's ex being the SMART one by not only breaking up with him but also saving her own life.
That's wild to think about!
I like to think the ex is what Emma Stone's character was originally supposed to be; she was cast to be in the role Anya Taylor-Joy played, but was also supposed to be Tyler's WIFE as opposed to what she is in the finished product.
If you liked this film, you'd love 1989's _The Cook, the Thief, his Wife and Her Lover._ The ever-changing color palettes and beautiful/horrendous story told is stunning. Oh and the ending is something you'll NEVER forget. Anyone reading this who's seen this masterpiece can attest.
Thank you for the recommendation! Will absolutely check it out!
Traumatized for life🙂
@@danielafernandamorales493 Right?? I was newly-married twenty-eight-year-old with my first wife when I saw this at the theater nearly 35 years ago. I remember she and I stumbling from the theater hanging on each other when the movie was over 😆. Although I've only seen it once so long ago I can still almost remember the entire film LOL
Not washing him self nor the leeks that should be gently on a low heat, not peeling the shallots and cutting them all mismatched, too much butter that burnt, no wine or any seasoning, and undercooked. yeah he needed to die for that lol. I'm not a master chef, but I saw the pain Chef had as much as I did. Good stuff. Subscribed
haha! Thank you, appreciate ya!
The most horrifying thing about this movie is that I was watching all those people burn, and all I could think about was how much I wanted that cheeseburger
That cheeseburger did look mighty delicious!
It’s a double patty burger with fried onions and not 2 but FOUR slices of cheese. I’d kill for a burger like that.
Ralph Fiennes and Hong Chau are the MVPs.
They were awesome!
I'd also add Anya Taylor-Joy to that as well; all three of them were AMAZING! Hong Chau, though... unsung hero in this movie.
I love how this movie ended. There's something morbidly satisfying about seeing this group of entitled pricks who never valued their life or how good they had it accept that they were the problem...that they can't go on after being so terrible...that the fire was their atonement. They didn't try hard enough to "fight back" like chef said because they didn't deserve to survive. Erin was the odd one out who only survived because she solved Chef's problem...because she was never an entitled prick...because she knows what it's like to work customer service...amazing ending.
If you remember earlier, when they were walking past the meat house, Elsa was explaining that they age the beef up to a particular time and that it must be consumed at that time and that it was coming up. One of the hedge fund guys then asked what happens to you if you eat it past it's time and Elsa said that you will die. The movie wouldn't just have that interaction for nothing. You'll also notice that there was no actual beef on the menu before the cheeseburger. Erin probably forgot about that part. At the ending, after she remembered that, she realized that she had taken 2 bites before, so she gives that last look of "oh, I'm dead" and thought "screw it, I'm dead anyway might as well enjoy my last meal" and takes a 3rd. Chef said "everybody dies tonight".🤪
This movie is so good. I usually don't go for films like this but it was so well done. The plot was clever, the acting was amazing, it was funny yet terrifying at the same time and I liked that they put what dish was being served on the screen for the audience to see. It was a nice touch. I enjoyed your reaction and you just got yourself a new subscriber!!!
So chef here. Arrange a plate with tweezers isn’t actually that uncommon, plenty of chefs use tongs and tweezers are just tongs for super small things and gives better control
That's awesome! I genuinely didn't know that! Definitely shows dedication to the craft.
Great movie, wasn't it? Excellent reaction, good breakdown and analysis. Subscribed and waiting for more
Thank you! It was an awesome movie!
Great reaction!!! Really enjoyed this movie- 'Nope' is definitely worth checking out. I'm also insanely jealous of your t-shirt!
Thank you! I'll definitely add Nope to the list. Haha spidey is the best!
a palate cleanser: "Big Night" (1996)
I watched this a few days ago. And tonight I had my cheeseburger and crinkle fries, the onions cooked like in the movie. And it was so fucking good.
I definitely have to try this!
Just came across your channel and subbed. Anya Taylor Joy was really great in this film as was Ralph Feinnes. If you haven't done it yet I hope you will consider reacting to the VVitch. It also has Joy in it and is really good. I enjoyed your reaction and I look forward to more of your content!
Thanks for the sub! I'll definitely be watching the Witch soon! Glad you enjoyed my reaction! :)
Loved your reaction new sub
Thank you so much! Appreciate you!
Really expected you to have far more subs, I really enjoyed this reaction! If you haven't watched the Witch yet, it stars Anya Taylor-Joy again, it was her debut feature film and she is stunning in it, I would love to see your take on it.
Oh thank you! I'm pretty new to the CZcams stuff so I appreciate you tuning into my reaction! The Witch is definitely on the list, can't wait to watch and react to it!
Good reaction, bud.
Thank you! Much appreciated!
Great reaction
And 32:29 - No
New here! You look extremely familiar, it’s maddening.
So far so good mate! Keep up the good work
Thank you so much!
Absolutely! And thank you in return!
I find a man able to push a man to *ahem*the freezer rather than one who can just murder soooo much more intimidating
Watch Where Evil Lurks.
I want to just ruin that bit with Dale posing as a Coast Guardsman. Its lazy on Julian's part. But in his defense, no one in that room is military. Even though Coast Guard isnt DOD anymore, they still are in compliance with AR 670-1. Dude didn't shave, wear a proper uniform, no M4, no squad or team. I wouldve been so petty to the Chef. Also. Bouche does not mean fancy. bourgeoisie means middle class.
Please where can i get this movie to watch
No, she's not supposed to be part of it.
I’m new here but i suggest you watch Hereditary or Midsommar, i’d like to see your take on those movies if you haven’t seen them yet
Welcome in! thanks for watching! I've actually seen both Hereditary and Midsommar already so first time reaction videos may not be in the cards for those BUT I wouldn't rule out me doing a video on those 2 movies because I really enjoyed both those movies!
Great reaction..definitely watch Nope it's fantastic in my opinion..
Thank you! Adding Nope to the list!
That wasn't some Dave Blane trapdoor horseshit. The dude is dead. He is super dead.
Tell him Sokorsky.
Hello! I’m a new sub after watching this. Loved your reactions! I see you’re a new channel so good luck to you! I know you’ll do great. 😊
Thank you so much!!
