    I think one of the most clever jokes of the movie is the composition of The Mess. Bone marrow is the blood because it's where it comes from; the meat is the sweat for the cooking method; the potatoes are the tears because they are boiled in salted water. The veggies are pressure cooked, just like how the sous chef was during his career, and the smear of gravy is the smear of the gunshot wound.

    John Leguizamos character was supposed to be played by Daniel Radcliffe playing an exaggerated version of himself. But he wasnt available. Johns performance was based off of Steven Segal.

    Oysters and lemon mignonette - Common flavors put together that have to be broken down and deconstructed, foreshadowing what happens to the guests. This is meant to be taken as Chef throwing down the gauntlet. Amuse Bouche - More foreshadowing. Charred lace - crater. Milk snow - ash from the fire. Cucumber and melon - the guests. The Island - Scallop on a rock - Chef presenting himself to the guests. Plants - "in the weeds" Breadless bread plate - straight up snarking at picky customers. But you can also make a case for Lilian's plate having a broken emulsion on purpose as his way of saying SHE'S as useless as a broken emulsion. Memory - Self explanatory The Mess - Pressurized vegetables - literal pun. Bone marrow - blood. Beef jus - sweat. Potato confit - tears. Man's Folly - Plum vinegar exists because of Umeboshi, whey plays a vital part in making yogurt, sea kelp and lettuce are what keeps the oceans biome from wreaking havoc. But everyone either doesn't know that or forgets, because they don't taste good, aren't as attractive, or can be very difficult to work with in their natural form. It's the same with women, especially when they try to speak out against unfair treatment like what the chef describes. They get called things like "bottom feeders", like crabs. Final scene with Margot/Erin eating the cheeseburger - She didn't care about giving him peace of mind. She just wanted to survive. And Chef acknowledged that. Using his menu as a napkin - She never believed anything he said for one second. She is, in fact, a taker that knows her worth. And that's why she lived.

    From the original script: Lillian wasn't completely exaggerating when she said she put Chef on the map: He had another high end restaurant before Hawthorne, called Tantalus. Got 2 Michelin stars 2 years in, then closed up shop. Isn't heard from again until 3 years later, running a taco truck in Portland. He agreed to the interview only if he could keep his privacy, his own land, and it had to be by the water so he could source his own fish. It's established the movie star has a peanut allergy during the tour, and this turns out to be setup for the menu's eighth course, where Felicity is ordered to force feed him a dish completely comprised of peanuts so as to kill him through anaphylactic shock. Anne (wife of man who paid Margot to look like his daughter while j*cking him off) actually couldn't eat The Island as is due to a shellfish allergy. Hers was salmon. The broken emulsion gag escalates to where the servers literally waterboard Lillian with it. The restaurant has hidden cameras in the dining room, so even if Elsa missed something, it still got caught. The taco truck Chef was running was, according to him, the happiest he'd ever been, but Margot calls him out on it later, asking why he parked his truck at a Food Expo where he KNEW food critics were going to be, if he wanted to be left alone. Man's Folly was supposed to have more details about a woman chef's actual experience in the kitchen, from harassment to stereotypes. The women DO get bread with Man's Folly, and it IS as delicious as promised. You can even see Tyler chewing on bread when Chef comes up to confront him afterwards. Not only did Tyler bring Margot knowing she would die, he sincerely thought Chef was going to spare him. And even when called out on it, he STILL didn't apologize or take it back, because all he cared about was experiencing the menu. Them all coming to the kitchen to watch Tyler screw himself over wasn't originally in the script. They were just supposed to watch from the dining room. Margot makes another bid for her life before being ordered to go get the barrel. Which Chef appreciates enough to tell her so. Margot smiles upon seeing Tyler's hanging. Lillian realizes she's never going to get to write about this last experience, and THAT ends up being her real just desserts. Instead of dropping the ashes to set it all on fire, Chef originally drops a match. The last scene is of firefighters combing through the burnt wreckage, and the very last thing we see is the one photo of Chef as a young man, flipping a burger, but happy.

    I'm here because of Josh Hutcherson not because I played the game. It's a different perspective on the movie to not know all the characters and the plot ahead of time. So I see it from Mike's perspective not with the plot already known to game players. It's interesting and scary that way as a mystery for the main character.

Even though Coast Guard isnt DOD anymore, they still are in compliance with AR 670-1. Dude didn't shave, wear a proper uniform, no M4, no squad or team. I wouldve been so petty to the Chef. Also. So right now the theory is Michael in the movie universe is related to Henry Emily who is who is Afton's business partner in the games. William really hates Henry because in Williams eyes Henry had a perfect life well his own family life is going apart because of a prank that went wrong play the oldest killing his youngest child. William with evil content kill his business partner daughter named Charlotte Emily outside the Freddy's building. Just like we know so far how Garrett was taken away at a place that's wasn't inside the pizzeria.

    If you think about it them having orange shade eyes means they are under the influance of Afton. They are just kids they wouldnt know if they stuff a kid in a robot it becomes a robot too. Afton probably told them what to do. Other than that they are just silly confused kids. Also since this movie is actually written by the creator of the games, things explained very little in the movie makes sense thats his way of telling a story. Games are like that too there is a little explanation but bunch of puzzle pieces around we just put them all together.

    I decided to watch it as I had nothing else to really watch... as simply a casual know by ear and sight individual on the fandom and such? I was intrigued by the take of the characters and the lore behind FNAF. Disturbing to say the least... But as a creative soul myself? I could see how it has become a massively popular fandom. I first heard about it when I was working weekend overnight shifts at my local aged care facility. Worked as an AIN. (Some of my co workers were really into the games and such.) The funny thing is? Whenever I was on the floor? No one would be able to hear me coming. (I was naturally very stealthy and barely made any noise as my goal was to perform safety checks on the residents within my area with little disruption to their slumbers as possible.) So when it came to pad and medication rounds? (which is usually a 2 - 3 person assist?) I would end up scaring the absolute shit out of said co workers when they went to look for me! :D It got so frequent...? The supervising RN would either ring/page me so that the rest of the team could pin point my location.... (which got annoying so I disabled it after a while because I felt like I was being targeted unfairly.) alongside checking the security cameras to keep tabs on where I was so that the team could await for me to come to them etc. 🤣My closest co worker begged me to teach them all my "ways." meanwhile? I begged them to not be so jumpy as I wasn't going to do a single thing to them unless they proceeded to get nasty with me. 🤣 Got the nickname "Chica." (As I used sugary food to stay awake. You name it. Chocolate, biscuits .. and yes... cake... to keep my blood sugar up so I could remain functional.) They used to make fun of said fact until we actually did have a break in one night. (A drug seeking moron... which is a known risk as we do have meds on site.) They just happened to cross to the radius of my area... and with some quick thinking? Such a risk was promptly put down. (Jumped off the nurses station desk onto their back, placed the blood pressure cuff around their neck, inflated it halfway to induce unconsciousness then dragged him to the front entrance where the police came to collect them.) :D It was scary.. but very thrilling. Glucose and adrenaline folks... Better than any drug you could do! :D Needless to say? My team were very very grateful when I was on duty as they knew that I would always have their backs. They kept up the FNAF trope by bringing sweets as thanks for being such a great co worker! xD It will be interesting to see how such a fandom evolves over the movie verse if they decide to make more movies.

    Yes, The Yellow Rabbit is canon to the games. Appears in almost all of them.

  • @anorak3334
    @anorak3334 Před 7 měsíci

    To answer a question you asked, yes, William and The Yellow Rabbit are in the games. One of the most popular appearances of William in the games is as Springtrap, if you know who that is, you can look that up if you want. Spoilers ig if you might care about where the movie plot might also go in sequels, but essentially Springtrap is what William became after he was springlocked inside Springbonnie. Although, in the games, the technical/official name for the yellow rabbit animatronic is Springbonnie. Another thing you asked is why the springlocks are in the suit William wore. It's not necessarily a decision he made, it's just simply that, as Vanessa explained at one point, the springlocks were used in all of the old animatronics. And Springbonnie in the games lore at least was actually one of the first ever animatronics to be made. If you want more elaboration on what the springlocks are essentially, in the games, they were designed with a feature in mind, that being that suits with springlocks can be used in two modes, one where it's worn by an employee as a mascot suit, and another where it's just simply a standard animatronic. Getting a suit to be either one is where the springlocks come in. Essentially they line the sides of all the parts of the suit. In their normal position, they're tucked away, not touching anything, and allow all of the the other standard suit parts to be in place, so it can act as a normal robot. However if you want to wear it as a suit, you have to decompress the springlocks. Essentially decompressing, will make them wind back/push aside all of the suit parts, leaving space inside of the suit for a human to wear it. However as seen and explained in the film, the springlocks can be trigggered very easily. So if they're triggered while a human is wearing the suit, they're gonna be impaled every which way by both the springlocks and also all of the suit parts. As to why William kidnapped and killed Garrett, we don't know for sure yet, although there are theories. To explain the most popular one, we have to look to the games. Unlike the film, in the ganes it's MIKE AND HIS SIBLINGS who are william's children, not Vanessa. Vanessa is still a character in the games, however her role there is quite different. In the games, not elaborated on in the film either, is the fact that William is the co-founder of the Freddy's restaurant chain. However the important thing to note is that, he's a CO-FOUNDER. He founded it, with another man named Henry. In the games, Henry has a single daughter named Charlotte, and in the games lore, William's first victim was Charlotte, when he drove outside of Fredbear's, the first ever Freddy's location, and is where Springbonnie and golden freddy, the animatronic you saw break into their house to kill aunt jane, and is also the animatronic the blonde boy possesses, came from, found Charlotte locked outside by bullies, murdered her, and dumped her body in a nearby alleway. She then went on to possess an animatronic known as the Puppet, who was originally created by Henry to protect/look after her. So what's the point behind me telling you this? The point is that people are theorising, that in the film universe, while Vanessa is William's child, Mike and his siblings, are this universe's equivalent to Henry's children. One of the biggest indicators is the circumstances of Garrett's death itself. Why would William, drive all the way out to Nebraska, to a random picnic spot in the middle of a forest, to kidnap one random child who just so happened to be there? Feels awfully specific doesn't it? Especially if, William doesn't have any reason to be lashing out against a family, that he doesn't know already. Unless ofc it IS a family that he is familiar with. Another interesting detail is that in an old version of the script and in the movie novelisation I think, Vanessa tells Mike she doesn't know if Garrett possesses an animatronic, and that Garrett was killed by William, before the others. Then there's the obvious fact that Mike and his siblings here are an obvious parallel to their afton kids versions from the games. In the games, there's Mike, his younger bratty sister, who's named Elizabeth, not Abby, and a younger brother, who in the games we didn't know the name of, who had short curly black hair, and was killed, in an event that Mike blames himself for (although said event is very different in the games). Now it's obvious they're not Afton's kids here in the film as well, so the next possible thing, would be them being the movie's version of Henry's kids. It'd also be a smart swap. In the games Henry has one daughter, while William has an older son, a younger son, and a younger daughter, while now in the film, William has one daughter, while Henry has an older son, a younger son, and a younger daughter. All this to say, it seems the director Emma Tammi actually confirmed herself in an interview, that there is indeed more to Mike's family than seen at least, where she said essentially that there is more to explore with his family name, but they won't explore or say anything until future sequels, and that for now it's fun to see people theorising. As to the plan Vanessa and William supposedly hatched, it most likely wasn't just for Mike, but more so for anyone/everyone, that being for Vanessa to just simply try to keep any new guards in the dark, and ensure they're taken care of, if they get too close to the truth about what happened there. Although obviously Vanessa grew a soft spot for Mike, possibly after seeing he has a younger sister. Further supported by her telling William that she "won't let you hurt her too", before getting stabbed. As for the plan with Abby, it wasn't even likely planned by Vanessa and William, it's more likely just something the ghost kids naturally wanted. In the games though it is a bit different, where the ghosts aren't being manipulated, and are instead outright looking for revenge. Like in the first game, you play as Mike, William's kid, and it's explained several times he looks a LOT like his father, William, making the ghost kids not only mistake him for their killer, but also, he's a worker at Freddy's, like William was, furthering this possible confusion of theirs. The ghosts were just seeking revenge, not being manipulated. Anyways the point is that bc of that ig, while the animatronics in the games acted very violent and aggressive around adults, they acted fine and friendly around children. This is something we're outright told in FNAF 2. Which is obviously a bit different from the film, however I do feel that the ghost kids' motivations in the film does still sorta make sense

    differences in movie games, in the games mike and abby (who is called elizabeth in the games) are william's children, vanessa in the games is not william's daughter in the games and is only mentally controlled by him, in the games or in the one The movie is mainly based, it happens in the 90's but the movie happens in the 2000's, in the games there is less blood than in the movie, in the games Abby dies inside an animatronic when he is between 4 or 5 years old. Although it seems like a lot in reality, the movie is very faithful to the games.

    24:20 he is not freddy, he is golden freddy, in the games he teleports because he teleports because he has 2 dead kids, more souls = more power william wants souls, souls = inmortal As a fan of the games, I tell you that the only thing I didn't like about the movie was Vanessa, although in the games she is also the worst character. All the characters in the movie are in the games or books of fnaf, except the aunt The Balloon Boy is not supposed to be scary, it's a joke about the fact that in the games he is the only character that doesn't scare you from jumps and in the movie he is the one with the most jump scares.

    • @rustedshackles
      @rustedshackles Před 7 měsíci

      Hold up! okay this explanation makes the movie make so much more sense! If they're there so to collect kids' souls to become more powerful then that clears up the questions I had for the motives of William. I wish the movie would have made that more clear! The animatronics mining kids souls for power is insane! I also had no idea there was a golden freddy who could teleport. Thanks for sharing I think its time I actually play the games for myself and read the books. I have a feeling there's a "Directors Cut" to this movie lying around that has all this extra detail in it, hopefully Peacock releases that version.

    No, I, and probably more people, don't see Joel as bad man(as a good man either, just a man) and from the sofa in front of the TV we can say, yes it is unfortunate, unfair. But in Joel's position, we still would do exactly the same. Getting rid of Marlene too, definitely. 85% certain that Marlene heals, regroup and goes after Ellie. Craig Mazin wrote the script, I wonder if it was on purpose, Marlene says what David says "I told them not to kill you" "You are special" and appears behind with a gun, just like Kathleen going after Henry. Joel says what Raely says "Do you trust me?" and he says what Ellie says too "so I guess we will find out" when she got upset with Raely, Joel said that getting upset with Tommy. Too many things for me and Craig is very smart, I find it hard to believe he didn't purposely write it like that. So happy thought, he doesn't like Marlene either.

    Anyway we are about to finish, you were doing so well until episode 4 or 5? Some people didn't play the game yet, let them be surprised, you can do it. Bella Ramsay's acting, i think it was fantastic. She filmed the scene leaving the barn before the scene killing David. I think she was killing a sack of rice or something like that.

    I don't like Joel and Tommy chatting in the game, they sound like two mafia fellows negotiating cargo. Really, to me, Joel and Tommy in the game are two rough country guys, in HBO they both are different. Having that dialogue like in the game wouldn't make sense to me, like who are these two?. In the game Joel doesn't even says I care for you, because he is a different person. in the game joel is more harsh although both are closed in their feelings. Those two TLOU video games i called before Neil Druckman as a father and after Neil Druckman father, plus there is Craig Mazin, more mature and a father longer. Joel doesn't see Ellie as cargo, but is he going to say that? "I love her like my daughter" Yeah, that sounds like Joel 🙄 Boy ssssSSSSSHhhhh! you don't know if that one was Deena, you don't know if Joel is alive or dead.

    I think the moral dilemma was established in episode 1, pick up or not that kid, I think it has been there in every episode. That is probably from what I've heard, another difference with the game, there are no bad guys or good guys, not even Fedra or the Fireflights

    There is one little scene from the game that CZcams usually leaves out but is important, to understand why Craig Mazin said that this episode is not just a filler, at least I understood better. In the game poor Bill is more than a bitter human being, and told Joel that is better to be alone and not worry for anybody, because that will get him killed (pretty miserable life) But in HBO the whole episode explains why Bill wrote those words to Joel, is more positive, he was happy and had someone to protect. Happier ending for Bill and Frank in this world. Sadly Tess is already gone, so, I understood that now Joel knows that he must be there to protect Ellie. Or at least he was reminded that she is his porpuse and as Bill put it, he won't let any mother f... to get in his way. Will see that with more clarity, later.

    I didn't play the game but I think they have (with Marlene and Raley) a closer relationship in the game because Raley said "You know how Marlene is? She implies they know her from before. But in TV Ellie asks "Who is Marlene?" In fact in the Firefly building, Ellie didn't meet Marlene immediately either. For what I have seen , they (especially Craig Mazin and Neil Druckman agreed because aaah! what parenthood can do), made changes, but you''ll be pleased.

    I know I"m super-late commenting, but your thoughts on how 'gut-breaking and heart-wrenching' the Henry & Sam situation is, reminded me of that one brilliant sentence in Game of Thrones: "Nothing is more hateful than failing to protect the one you love". Great reaction, as always. Hopefully we'll see more of you in future!

    Great reaction bro. Subbed. Btw, my guess is that the twins were being burned in the final coven scene. Folklore from the period states that witches gain the power of flight by allowing fire to consume unbaptized children.

    According to folklore about witches/witchcraft, witches used the fat of unbaptized children to make their “flying ointment”; and baby Sam was indeed unbaptized. Witches also had the ability to turn themselves into a hare (the “rabbit” you kept seeing), the power to blight crops and to sour milk. All of which were well represented in the movie. Eggers did his homework!

    Man... you should have watched Scream 4 before watching 6... Scream 4 is very good in my opinion and now you have spoiled yourself by watching Scream 6 first. Still, you should watch Scream 4.

    If you like this director, I believe you would like “The Lighthouse”. Willem Defoe and Robert Pattinson should have been nominated for Best Actor. Plus Cinematography, art/set decoration, costuming, etc.

    Have you heard of the new movie called “Megan”? It’s about an Artificial Intelligence doll played (supposedly) by a real doll. Well, it’s not the original. The original is “Morgan” starring Anya Taylor-Joy in the title role. There is an all star cast and Anya was perfect as the A.I. experiment. It pre-dates “VVitch”.

    I think people underestimate the pain someone goes through when they are gutted . Most people say the girl on the ladder should have moved faster or she should just hold on . they seem to forget that her guts are literally hanging out

    I liked The Cabin in the Woods but I still think it could've been better, especially with how much promise the premise has. Well, to be fair it actually couldn't be THAT good because of the MPAA and capitalism, so no, you'll never get that gold product. But in a nutshell I only semi-liked this movie. Semi-disliked this movie but not for the general reason the horror nerds disliked The Cabin in the Woods, because of its satire on corny horror cliches but rather because it didn't go off the rails enough for my taste.

    Def watch Scream 4. It was a little polarizing among fans upon release, but it’s aged really well.
