Sonic games have very good music, this game however is the first to be more metal with its songs. Lots of games have awesome tracks like this, it’s like how Bury the Light surprised people
This sonic game is the most anime since SA2, since SA2 had Crush 40, Sonic Frontiers didn’t have Crush 40 but they absolutely nailed the bosses with that music, and the fact that this game didn’t earn a single award for best OST is just criminal

Sonic 2 was my last Sonic. Cause I don’t count Sonic ‘06. 😂 but Sonic 2 had a bangin’ soundtrack for a 16bit game
@@coversandcommentary Man, Sonic 3 actually had MJ himself work on it. If you pay attention, you'll notice Ice Cap sounds a bit like Smooth Criminal. But moving on, 3D sonic always has slamming music, that's just fact. The rabbit hole goes deep with his music
@@coversandcommentary well in terms of music, 06 is one of the best in the franchise, in terms of gameplay not so much but we got Fangame Project 06 to rectify that issue
@@coversandcommentary Even then… I consider 06 one of the best soundtracks in the whole series despite its reputation… Along with Heroes, What I’m Made Of is probably Crush40’s best song. Not only that but check out With Me from Sonic and The Black Knight, Marty Friedman worked on guitar for that song. And Secret Rings has some sick riffs and insane drums, probably the rawest drums a Sonic game has ever had.
@@25shadow11 While you're not wrong, Ice Cap is actually based off the track 'Hard Times' by The Jetzons, which Brad Buxer, one of MJs key collaborators, was a part of. Carnival Night uses a heavy bit crushed sample from Jam, and for another example, the Sonic 3 (by itself) version of Knuckles theme uses a section of Blood on the Dance Floor.
But the message we need to take away is, when it comes to Sonic, SEGA will go as hard as they can for the soundtrack.
There is actually another sonic game song that Tyler Smyth sings, and it's 'infinite' from Sonic Forces.

My guess on why the soundtrack went as hard as it did is it was needed for the game to make an impression that sets it apart from all previous titles.

That could be said about every sonic game back when they released. But tracks that are more metal started with Infinite’s theme, I think it’s just because it has just gotten more popular since people recognise sonic from memes then when you actually jump into Sonic is when you notice the music. Also the Super Sonic fights in other games are pretty much just you moving sonic side to side, instead in this game it’s an actual fight rather than it only being carried by the music making it way cooler.

sonic has always been fantastic with music in basically all sonic games. im always about video games soundtracks that really care. sonic. final fantasy/kingdom hearts. zelda. all these games do more then just "lets make good video game music"
