Mainstream media and a lot of gaming outlets including The Game Awards hate Sonic in general for no reason, they've decided it's the gaming punching bag, the franchise that was never good and they'll always sh!t on, even for plenty of gamers this is the case. Every success is overlooked, every failure is amplified, to a lot of them Sonic will never be good. That is why it didn't even get a nomination, they don't respect the brand there, they probably literally laughed it off. Sonic Team gave a lot of notes for the soundtrack, they wanted it to be a message, a letter to the fans and the haters. That's why there are lyrics such as "And if we never reach the crowd we'll take the whole thing down", "they said we'd break, they said we'd lose, but here we are what else is new", " I'm here to go beyond my limit not to compromise and you can tell me if I mean it looking in my eyes", "We can't pretend to listen, sorry if that puts you in an imposition" and many many other lyrics from this soundtrack. Sonic Team here is putting their foot down, giving the middle finger to everyone that unjustly hated them and going back to an Adventure Era-reminiscent approach, both what they liked doing the most as a studio and what the majority of the fanbase prefers. Basically Sonic is f***ing back and the music is pretty much "Sonic Team and fans VS the world: The Soundtrack" and I am all for it.

Both songs are great Undefeatable and break through it all which I feel is slept on most people either prefer Undefeatable or find your flame I personally love break through it all it goes hard
Wyverns boss and theme are my favorite by far, and i also recommend listening to some sonic unleashed tracks, its overall whole ost is filled with variety and great instrumentization
Still urks me that Genshin Impact won over Sonic Frontiers when Genshin came out over a year earlier so they counted a port as a "new" game and had that as a voting option. Then there was that weird glitch that wouldn't allow you to select Sonic as a game to vote on without either refreshing the page or clicking on another game first. But, I'd rather the series make a huge comeback. Glad the game is getting love from the company as fans have been trying to push for years.
i agree. the game awards are a joke. genshin should not have won anything. and my opinino isn't swayed by what the game awards says. frontiers is amazing
Genshin is not even better than Honkai Impact 3 which is from same company, even if the world is big yet it doesn't have much to discover, lame character design, overused character development and plot, PAY TO WIN, lame fight and more
@@WDCrazyTruth i dont hate Genshin as much as you guys seem to do, but it definetly doesnt deserve any awards for anything (except maybe for best predatory marketing lul) or seriously speaking for the music. But then again as you said, Honkai has arguably better music made by the same team as well hehe^^

it was released on november 22nd and the cut of for the game awards is november 17th so it couldn't be nominated last year
