The fact this game wasn’t even NOMINATED for soundtrack of the year despite being #6 in the US and #10 Globally for new tracks should tell you that game awards are a joke and only used to advertised specific games who’ve paid for placements.
This game deserved recognition for its varied and super hype tracks.

Fun fact, in Find your Flame, the second guitar solo that you heard doesn't actually exist. In the official soundtrack the solo only happens once and then it goes to the soft part with the vocals. The reason it plays twice here is because people ripped the theme straight from the game and when you trigger the end of the boss, it plays the guitar part.
The reason that the Frontiers OST didn't win best soundtrack of the year is because it wasn't nominated for it. Why was it not? Who knows, but it undoubtedly deserved to be there.
Hoping to see you do Break Through it All, which is the one other Titan theme you haven't done.
The album made it to no 6 (US) and no 10 (Global) most listened song that just debut on spotify. I think that's a bigger win than even winning the TGA's best soundtrack award.
Fortunately, it might have a chance after Steam's nomination

It's because the Game Awards are a joke to promote certain games at this point. The Last Of Us Part 2 getting so many despite being panned by its fans should have otld you that much.
@@LordTyph I am aware, but that doesn't mean that I can't wonder what went through the journos' heads to not even nominate a Frontiers for the OST department.
Yeah this is the full track you get in the game. For the first two bosses, the second verse of the song triggers on the second phase of the fight. However the full song of Find Your Flame plays for the Knight battle from the start no matter what phase you're on. Well with the exception of the ending part of the song where it has the soft fade out. Every boss fight song has a gentler end sections that syncs up with sonic doing a finisher move on the boss. These fights are all pretty cool actually.
As for the soundtrack as whole, its very diverse in genres. The vocal songs are just one part. The whole ost is over 6 hours long and dedicated to different aspects of the game. It's an open worldish/sandbox game, so theres music to accompany each area and several remixes of said track that plays according to how you progress. Its usually orchestral, but varied in instrumentation. The minibosses separate from the main ones have unique songs for all of them that range from techno, orchestral, dnb. And then theres the cyberspace levels which are separate from the main worlds with is basically a 2 hour club mix in itself. all edm of various subgeneres of edm. They released the whole thing on spotify recently so yall can check it out there.

Tyler and Andy bane also did a song called infinite in sonic forces, did their own version of the main theme from that game which was originally done by hoobastank and did some stage music for team sonic racing! Sonics done nearly every genre of music and that’s not an exaggeration 😂😂

@@BananaMan3113 I'd argue that Forces is the worst Sonic game, yes, even worse than Rise of Lyric and 06 since in those games, you can at least break the games and get a bit of enjoyment out of it whilst in Forces, it's incredibly boring and it's so heavily on rails to the point where you can't even break it in any entertaining way, the glitchy games have some enjoyment in them, Forces doesn't.
It’s not only that, the level design is so boring as well, and forces had like 4 years to be developed. Don’t get me started on classic sonic…he is the most awkward to play as. Tails is such a fackin pussy in that game, He was no longer my favorite character. Infinite is a cool character, but his backstory makes no sense and just makes him look like a gigantic edgy drama king. The music, I think is OK, some bangers in there. At the end of the day, it’s just “Sonic the Hedgehog: Deviant art forces”(because you make an OC in that game).
@@lukasruston8618 Worse than 06 and Rise of Lyric its kinda impossible, I will agree the game was bad but not as bad those two. Infinite is still my favourite villain, its just sad to see such wasted potencial, I'm hoping he comes back, song wise was decent, the levels could've been longer and more difficult. I still somewhat enjoyed Forces.
@ Oh, Infinite could've absolutely been a great villain... I'm actually hoping that he's not dead in the canon so that the new writers can include him and make him likable... maybe even stop him from being Infinite and accept himself as Zero.

You guys must not know that Sonic has always had peak music. Some of the best I've ever heard. Music this good isn't rare in the Sonic series.
I also recommend this game to play. Very hype.
The tracks are kind of split up between phases so you do hear the full song basically, love these vids!
Sonic frontiers has a dynamic soundtrack the song flows with your actions Edit:correction it is not dynamic my mistake for confusing ambient and dynamic) and yes the full song is in each boss fight there our technically 3 more boss songs and a whole bunch of cyberspace stage songs. If you want to get a short rundown on the history of sonic just listen to the themes of sonic adventure the game that started the evolution of sonic music and they only get better from there going forward even the “bad” Sonic games have bangers to listen too I enjoy all the games. By the way every song tells a story I wonder if you’ll notice in that in the future. 😁
Yeah i mean now that we have heard a few songs, we are realizing they make bangers only. We will be doing more songs and probably going back to those older games as well. Your claim about the dynamic music is absolutely incorrect. Nowhere in Frontiers is there actual dynamic music. In the open world, the in and out of combat themes are completely linear. The only other music is within bossfights in which we have:
Undefeatable: Plays half the song on repeat linearly until you reach phase 2, and then the full song without the ending plays linearly.
Break Through it All: Same as Undefeatable.
Find your Flame: The entire song except the ending plays linearly
I'm Here: Instumentals only, until you reach phase 2 where the full song plays linearly.
This is not what dynamic music is. To see an example of music which is affected by the player's actions, check out something like DMC5.

And to answer your question, you do get the full song in the boss fight. It’s just done through phases, where it won’t move onto the next part until a specific point is reached
We already recorded it before this comment so there is no lyric video but we did react to the song and its coming out on Christmas Day 🎁🎄🤘. That seems like the perfect way to have it during the boss fight 👍

I was a big fan of “Open Your Heart” by Crush 40 because I grew up in the genesis era as well, and I’ve always loved Sonic music, but this OST was peak! it has some real bangers! Haven’t banged my head this much since This Machine!

rock music has been synonymous with Sonic ever since Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 on the Sega Dreamcast. so here's a suggestion do videos on every song that has lyrics from every 3D sonic game. there's several I would suggest so the gamer that's been out of the loop until now gets caught up on what he's missed. Open Your Heart, Live and Learn, What I'm Made Of, All Hail Shadow, Never Turn Back, His World, Dreams of an Absolution, Live Life, Knight of The Wind, Seven Rings In Hand, Reach For The Stars, Endless Possibilities, So Much More, Un-gravitify, Catch Me If You Can, Green Light Ride, Super Sonic Racing, Fist Bump and Theme of Infinite. there's more than that but those are songs from both mainline Sonic games and spin-offs.

The bosses usually last between two to four minutes so you can get the entire track yeah.
Break Through It All is just as good in my opinion. It has a lot of buildup for the first part but when that chorus hits, man does it keep going.

yeah this is the 3rd Boss, there are techically 5 bosses in all, the Original 5th boss is a Slow Sad Synth track, the new one is another Rock theme
I know it's not your norm but I am curious to know what you'd think of the actual bosses themselves WITH the music, unfortunately the videos you guys had between this and Undefeatable lack any of the boss gameplay.
The Game Awards didn’t even nominate Sonic Frontiers. So sad about that.
Though as a Genshin AND Sonic fan, the fact that Sonic Frontiers didn’t get nominated provoked a lot of Sonic fans to get overly…rude towards the Genshin community that I’m also in.

Question, I know I can't get an answer for everyone but why do most people say they dropped off at Sega Genesis, I hear that said a lot, why that point?
I (cory) never owned one so I never really got into sonic even back then and I just never sat down and tried to play one even in the modern day tbh. I was just into other games and never really had the urge to try it. I cant speak for my friends but thats my answer. Thanks for the comment tho and for checking us out ❤️
I (Steve) had a Sega Genesis and I've played Sonic 2, 3, and Sonic and Knuckles. When Playstation came out I got into that and I don't think they had any Sonic games for PS1. I've always been a fan of the character and I used to watch the cartoon. But somehow I just never ended up playing the next generation of Sonic games. It wasn't because I heard they were bad, I actually didn't really hear anything about them. But it would be cool to start getting into some of them now. As always thanks for commenting!

Infinite is definitely one of our favs also. Thats one of the great things about the sonic soundtracks, it has something for everyone.
