  • Today is February the 3rd, a special day in Japan: Setsubun. It marks the division between winter and spring in the old calendar. It's a day when we "chase away the demons" of the harsh, cold season, and welcome in the good times of spring. In this video I'll talk about how Japanese families observe this event, and also my own special custom.
If you're wondering about the music in the video, it's mostly original tracks from the Mysterious Doctor Ebot, except the last one, which is from the CZcams Creators' Media Library.
And if you're wondering about the beer I was PLANNING to drink (before it was 'spirited away'), it was インドの青鬼 (Blue Demon of India) IPA by YOHO Brewing. (One of my favorites.)

Yes, this is a rerelease. But it’s a remixed and reloaded rerelease. Enjoy! (And like the original, this version has an interactive end-screen leading to a choose-your-own path video quiz. Try it out if you haven’t already.)
    🍻

Children's tension drops on Setsubun, but adults have a lot of fun😊

Yes, Setsubun is definitely more fun for adults than kids. 😆

Excellent choice of beer for this day. Too bad someone .... or something ... drank it.
