EC120 helicopter lowlevel flying
Flying an EC120 helicopter above power lines looking for trees or branches that might have fallen over the lines due to high winds. The EC120 helicopter is a great machine for flying lowlevel aerial work, as long as you're not too heavy. Its a perfect helicopter for powerline inspections when its only pilot and inspector plus fuel. The EC120 does the job, but you have to be careful with the fenestron and power management. Its all about planning setups when the inspector wants to slow down.
When flying the EC120 lowlevel, one of my techniques are trading altitude for airspeed or airspeed for altitude. Before turning lowlevel, gain some height or do it in a climb.

For most viewers whining (get the pun?) about helicopter “noise,” most cameras filter it out. Besides, a helicopter sounds much different inside than out and even very different when considering the flight mode. Still a great video, thanks for posting.

I would have enjoyed this more without music, I like to hear the helicopter sounds. You also appeared to edit out some of the take off. Landings a take-offs are the best bits for me.

Hey, thanks for the feedback. Yeah this fotade is from one 2.6h powerline inspection flight. On those flights is pure production and time management so its rare that we do perform any landings more than when we go for refuel. 🙂 will keep in mind for the next one thought!
