Lyrics:
Day by day, night after night
Blinded by the neon lights
Hurry here, hustlin' there
No one's got the time to spare
Money's tight, nothin' free
Won't somebody come and rescue me
I am stranded, caught in the crossfire
Stranded, caught in the crossfire
Tooth for tooth, eye for an eye
Sell your soul just to buy buy buy
Beggin' a dollar, stealin' a dime
Come on can't you see that I
I am stranded, caught in the crossfire
I am stranded, caught in the crossfire
I need some kind of kindness
Some kind of sympathy oh no
We're stranded, caught in the crossfire
Save the strong, lose the weak
Never turning the other cheek
Trust nobody, don't be no fool
Whatever happened to the golden rule
We got stranded, caught in the crossfire
We got stranded, caught in the crossfire
We got stranded, caught in the crossfire
Stranded, caught in the crossfire
Help me

Rolling Stone Magazine rated Stevie #12 on the top 100 guitarist list....I never picked up another copy.
😂
Jew Adolf What are your assumptions based off of? Of course that’s not what happened. Jimi was number 1. Why would Taylor Swift be number 1
@@route6666 its a damn joke
I would suggest that your sensitivity to other people's opinion might need reevaluating.
RSM still exists?????????????????
That smile at the beginning. Clean and sober, living and loving life, and kicking ass.
RIP good sir. You were truly a badass.
Amen
SO glad the Lord gave him time and impetus to get his life together; and I like to think that included making Jesus his Savior, as we ALL need to do ...
Love the vids in which he has color in his face . He smiles more. So nice to see a good soul in a good place.
That smile at the beginning is enough to make me cry. Love him and miss him! This is just so awesome though.
@@CooManTunes You're a brain dead atheist.
Someone who is that good Never puts their guitar down. This is what it looks like when someone plays guitar obsessively literally everyday hours on end for years and years. The stratecaster is just an extension of his own body.
I'd like to kick the 37 people who disliked this in the face. WTF?
Jk K, you could kick them in the face, but...they would not feel a thing cause they are brain dead!
Can we just appreciate Reece’s keyboard work here for a second? Perfectly backs Vaughan’s stellar guitar playing
Always does haha
The whole band was tight!
👏👏👏
he deserves more credit than he gets too, cos stevie played half step down that made reeces job harder bcos of all the crazy flat piano chords
Just got to see Reese play with Joe Bonamassa last year. Holy smokes!!!!
Does anyone else feel like Stevie was Possessed when he plays, If you pay attention at the start he is calm, then as soon as the drum starts he starts tapping his foot and becomes possessed by his FENDER, He is amazing!!! RIP there will never be another Stevie Ray Vaughan
I like everything you said. The only two Guitar players who even come close Are Albert King and Jeff Beck. Nobody else even matters or comes close to the raw TALENT THAT WAS GIVEN TO STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN.
It's called the blues
@@christopherstewart6668 NO KIDDING.
Verdad nunca mas
That's true, even Stevie said "well he is him and I am me" when asked about Hendrix. (I am paraphrasing but he said it)
You know you’re a legend when you hear 1 second of a song and immediately can tell it’s SRV. That voice and guitar is so distinctive. So much talent gone too soon.
You wrote that wrong dude, should have said: you know you’re hearing a legend when you can hear just 1 second of his song and know it’s SRV.
I was told once, when playing music, every note you play must mean something or don’t play it at all. Stevie Ray Vaughan is the purest example of making every single note, either through his guitar or his voice, mean something, every single time he played. If you know someone who wants to be a musician, TRULY wants to be a musician and share their gift of music with others (not for the money, or the fame, or the “artistic integrity”), tell them, no, demand of them to inundate themselves with every video, record, CD, etc., of SRV they can get their hands on. The Lord gifted him to us for a while, and we were truly lucky enough to enjoy his gift. Honor him by spreading the word, that THIS MAN, was what all music should strive for. If we don’t get there, that’s ok. It truly is the journey that matters. As always, it is, and was, an honor and a privilege Mr. Vaughan. Thank you! Thank You! Thank You! May your soul always Rest In Peace.
My father in law went to school with him, and was in band with him. He said he used to jam out all the time. He is the greatest of all time.
@@illusionistbeamish4204 YES HE WAS he was beyond brilliant,JIMMY his brother was the lucky one, just jamming with his brother what a lucky lucky man,RIP STRAT MAN
I think that was really beautifully put. I can tell you really mean it. All the best musicians out there are really not doing it for the money at all. Something is bursting forth from them. They can’t contain it. They’d do it either way. He was certainly and very obviously one of those people.
I seen SRV three times here in austin at small clubs( steamboat, antones and i think soap creek+ with the thunderbirds there) and he was always mind blowing! I asked Tommy Shannon to compare SRV to Johnny Winter ( seeings how Mr. Shannon played bass with both of them) and he he said “SHIT, there’s no comparing. Stevies a hundred times better player than anyone i can think of” I agree . He was a BMF. Id like to have seen him and prince jam together🚀💥💥🔥
Morgan,
Loved what you said about SRV making every note, via guitar or singing, count. It reminded me of my art teacher saying to me to make every brushstroke, line, etc. count. It’s what make a great artwork or song different from just a good one. God bless, Marianne ❤ 4:05
Am I the only one who gets chills every single time I listen to this? I mean, just, WOW!
Nope, me too
Everything about it is awesome. But I especially revisit for that TONE.
Got that right. His playing still sends chills.
WOW!
Not the only one❤
SRV's vibratos are in another world! As a guitar player myself. It's beyond words how hard or actually impossible it is to make them sound like he does. So violent and powerful yet perfectly struck notes 100% of the time. This is perfection personified.
It's even more impossible to comprehend when you remember he used a very thick string gauge, 13s or something, but yeah it's also physically quite a challenge
@Kent Horvath bending with 10s isn't difficult, but vibrato and especially bending vibrato is hell of a challenge
@Kent Horvath not saying it's easy, but it's not THAT difficult in my personal opinion
Yes his perfection is impressive. I’m a guitarist too and i use 13 gauge, you gotta be violent of you want those vibratos
Kent Horvath no BS. He played 13's, tuned to Eb. So they played closer to a 12. This was Stevie's usual string gauges, straight from Stevie's guitar tech Rene Martinez, .013 -- .015 -- .019p -- .028 -- .038 -- .058. He also didn't play with a wound third string. Stevie was constantly supergluing his fingers back together. He'd fill the holes in his fingers with baby/baking powder, throw superglue over top, and then stick his fingers to his palm or another finger so he'd have a new layer over top of his repair. He was down to 11's and 12's at the very end, because as you can guess, his hands hurt!
Imagine where SRV would be today . Love this man
He's probably giving Hendrix guitar lessons in heaven
In a world filled with so many talented, incredible guitarists, SRV stands above almost all of them, one of the true guitar gods.

You can't be SO good and SO cool at the same time. It's just not fair.
Sure you can...He did🤔🧐😀😄😉
he worked at it for years, his hard work plus talent made him a legend
He plays that guitar like it is a part of his body.
It was
Absolutely true, he could play it asleep, I'm sure!
he plays that guitar like he is trying to get it pregnant
he plays that guitar like it owed him money
he plays that guitar like when I want to squeeze that last drop of toothpaste from the tube
The “blues rock” of Texan Stevie Ray Vaughan. Considered one of the greatest guitarists of all time, he revolutionized the trajectory of the genre during the 1980s, but died prematurely at the age of 35, in August 1990, following a helicopter accident. Be at Peace...Great Legend...Greetings from Brazil to all fans..
Rolling Stone Was Wrong . Stevie Is By Far #1.
Obviously it’s all subject, let me play devils advocate here…no Jimi No SRV.
The best ever !!
Rolling Stone they have no clue.
Dam Strait gone to soon
Stones were well before SRV but both great👍👍✌️✌️
SRV’s guitar playing skills are God level. His voice however is so underrated.
From some of his early videos when Lou ann Barton was with him .he really cultivated a bluesman voice. He had a beautiful voice.
He has said that he was trying to imitate Doyle Bramhall.
@@TheSarahbeach100
Triple Threat Review.
Lou Ann did most of the singing.
SRV felt his voice was inadequate.
He was wrong.
I have seen Stevie a dozen times or more from 72-77 and he rarely sang.
After Lou left, and in 1978, he let his vocals shine with Double Trouble
☮️
@@robertsuitsjr6117 and that was a good voice to imitate
Re his voice-hopefully NOT ANYMORE! ❤ Miss ya Stevie! 2:22
He was JUST GETTING STARTED!! Living clean and sober and was a new man....... Look at the first ACL show he did, he was barely hanging on, totally wiped out. This show....FULL CONTROL!!! Dammit.....we got robbed of some really good music.
This is a perfect example of a musician who knows when to blend in. And when to stand out. I love how he lets his trio shine
SRV was the complete article. Incredible guitarist, great songwriter, fine singer, and outstanding front man and entertainer. He was truly golden. Once-in-a-generation talent. Such a shame we lost him so soon.
He was truly "Á la package"
His voice is criminally underrated. I think his guitar playing was just so good that his voice gets overlooked. But his voice really was quite good.
Yes he was
Same as Albert King
@@bharp4390 same as Albert King
Never been a guitarrist so passionate as SRV. His vibe playing the guitar is unique.
The guy was from another world. Every time I watch him play a smile comes over my face.
The most passionate dynamic player in the history of rock & roll guitar playing!!! You MUST include him in the top 5 all time greats!!!
And still the undisputed king of blues and forever my hero. SRV
@Richard Kalevicoglo BB King what's the best Stevie was like his long lost son

True
I still get a kick out of the first time somebody hears Stevie Ray never gets old
3 days ago was my first time to see srv play. Man, I watched crossfire over and over
I would rate Stevie just below Jimi Hendrix. Yes Really!
That's me. My first time just now. I'm knocked out. Bring the smelling salts. Just wow.
I got to see him play live just one time, at an outdoor concert for a college spring fling weekend, no less. Half the kids were sitting around throwing Frisby, drinking beer or getting stoned. But a (percentage-wise) small group of us were just standing in front of the stage with our jaws on the ground in total fu&*king awe of this man the entire show. UN-FU7KING REAL. RIP Stevie. You are back playing with the Gods, which is where you truly belong. Thank you for spending some time with us here on earth, even though it was way too short. Love from us all.
Steve is the real king of blues, and one of the best guitar hero ever
What about BB king?
Mohammad Ranjbar Stevie is way better
BB King and SRV can't really be compared - BB King plays slow emotional blues-jazz kind of music, while SRV plays fast, melodic, lively blues-rock kind of music. Sure you can compare them, but they play different music. Music taste is also subjective, e.g. you may not like BB King, but that doesn't mean he's a bad guitarist, you just don't personally like him, but there's people who like him and dislike SRV, it's all a matter of personal taste. However one thing that's true for sure is that they both are great guitarists and overall musicians
@@gremlin9870 I agrre with u. There are so many people still thinking that speed is everything.
True! Furthermore, there are rumors his plane was sabotaged by those who were most threatened by his great talent and success.
SRV, the greatest to ever play the instrument.
Yes, I know all about Jimi, EVH, Clapton, Gilmore, Beck, Randy Rhoades and others. No doubt about it, they define greatness when it comes to guitar virtuosity. But there can be only one greatest ever... of all time...
... And that is SRV.
I agree but check out Prince playing acoustic.
@@Flyingtaco82 "I agree but check out Prince playing acoustic."
______________________________________________
No argument here; I agree *entirely* . Prince was truly a virtuoso, not just on acoustic, but on electric as well. He was truly an artist with the instrument(s). I should have included him in my list [above]... my bad.
He’s a guitar Jedi the only plausible answer to playing is he used the force
There at the end, it sounds like 2 guitarists are playing. Incredible.
Oh so true
rhythm and lead. What tone!
He plays rythym with himself it does sound like 2 guitars. Happy Heavenly birthday .srv
Man if there's any guitar player that was able to play with attitude, it was Stevie. This man had absolute class and charm when he picked up the guitar.
Stevie Ray is INSANE best ever. Ive never seen anything like this dude he just melts faces on the reg.

A buddy and myself went to a show at Fitzgerald’s in late 70’s. What I remember is it was pre SRV and Double Trouble officially being formed. First time to see him perform. When the show was over we were like what was that. I wished him the best for the future at the bar during a break. He went on to revive Blues Rock even though we never stopped listening to the Blues and Blues Rock artist prior to the release of their first album. I feel very fortunate that I got to experience the bands music over the years.
Stevie Ray Vaughan is a guitar God
SRV was one the artists were he could play the song live and sound like the record.
Live sounds better than record
Think many of their recordings were done ‘live’ in studio
That solo was just perfection
🙏R.I.P Stevie my #1 guitar 🎸 player, thank you for music you left us
Stevie died because God wanted his fingers back
Yep.
Hearing Stevie play is one thing, watching Stevie play is another thing entirely.

Don"t come any better. SRV is but an extension of the guitar, or is it of him..........they are one
30 yrs today. Stevie you touched a lot of people, and you are missed ..every Damn day
I remember the day he died. I was devastated. I put flowers on his grave at Laurel Land in Dallas. There were so many flowers; he was loved...
None of the truly great guitarists never play to a script when performing live they close their mind and let the music take over but it takes a genius like Stevie to play instantly and flawlessly what the music is telling them to play
Exactly!!! Been listening to him since I was 14....am 49 now and from his neighborhood in Dallas. The more I listen the more it seems he was able to harness what he had and it flowed through him so naturally
Damn, he's got everything dialed in perfectly. That tone is amazing. When i was 15 (1992) i sat down one summer to learn SRV. I wasn't getting too far after countless hours. Then i stumbled upon the key to playing like he did. You have to have no regard for your hands or fingers. You have to play really hard and aggressive. I think that's why so few can't get it down. I think the whole thing about "playing til your fingers bleed" is a myth but after one heavy day of learning SRV my parents made steak for dinner and i couldn't hold my knife and fork, everything was so sore. I couldn't play for a week. He made it look so easy and effortless but it is not. I remember reading once that Stevie would even switch to a lighter gauge string depending on how his fingers were holding up. I could not even dream of coming close to how he sounded but attempting to play his stuff helped open a lot of doors for me in the process of learning.
He played heavy gauge strings too.
SRV used .013-.060 gauge strings. Nice little article on his old guitar tech www.musicradar.com/news/guitars/interview-stevie-ray-vaughans-guitar-tech-rene-martinez-267030
@Keeling Charles I once shook hands with SRV. His hand was hard as a brick. It was like shaking hands with a horse's hoof. Blacksmiths should have hands like he had.
@@telebob very cool!
John Mayer said one time he could play with SRV's intensity for about 20 seconds before his arm starts to give out.

To my knowledge, it was mostly the locals.
I was told that his hometown was Austin, so that probably has a lot to do with it.

That bass line, tight drums, that voice, and that guitar , unmistakeable SRV ✌🏽🎸
SRV was a BADASS, there’s really no other way to put it. ✌️😎 love it at 1:49 clenching teeth and drags his fingers up the neck and then drags them back down as he leans back like the guitar God that he is. LEGEND
For me at least SRV is the most magnetic artist of them all. I’m biased because I love Texas even though he transcends all labels.
Prince and Michael Jackson, EVH and others are/were full package - absolutely next level on all fronts: songwriters/composers, singers, performers, personalities.
But SRV played at the root of all contemporary popular music: the blues, which is by definition the least popular. He embodied all the great bluesmen and clung to the blues like his mother. He revolutionized it while keeping it pristine. Could’ve toured with Bowie but his heart was with Double Trouble and wanted to be with them touring in an old milk truck.
Saw him twice in Milwaukee
This guy could of sold half his rhythum and still had more than most!!!!
I'm sorry, but Stevie was never clean and sober... God bless him. What a talent!
Thank you SRV…. I wish I had 1/8 of your talent in my fingers….
SRV simply AMAZING!!
I sure do miss you Stevie.
🎸❤️.
What some people don't understand about SRV's magical run is that Blues was out of the mainstream for the most part. It's time was over and more underground. He brought it back to attention, making people see it was still very viable/strong and not going anywhere.
SRV is why we have John Mayer now.
(I shouldn't have said that watch the insults, but even if you like John or not the fact is that his playing is like 30% SRV influence.)
When I heard on the radio Stevie died, I pulled over and cried. I'd only heard Double Trouble play once or twice, but I cried. I recently learned I wasn't the only one who was an instant fan of SRV. Just once you heard him and the golden guitar and voice, that was it. You knew he was The Best Ever.
I was driving home from work and crying my eyes out, his music touched my soul.
