- We talked with Nick and Caelan from Aggro Crab Games about their new Soulslike game launching later this month. Another Crab's Treasure is unlike any Souls game you have ever played, set in a vibrant undersea kingdom on the verge of collapse, a hermit crab embarks on a treasure hunt to buy back his repossessed shell.
Another Crab's Treasure will be be released for PlayStation 5, Windows, Nintendo Switch and Xbox Series X/S on April 25, 2024.

@PeterMasalski93 ah, i thought that y'all meant new weapons aside from the fork. I havent unlocked the shell hammer skill yet personally
@@adamsmasher9769 Once you do, you can attach any shell to your fork and it becomes kinda like a new weapon.
We need more games like this, alot of developers put alot of time in "realistic" graphics instead of focusing in the "fun" part of the game
Honestly, it's just refreshing to see a soul like that has colours more than Grey, white Grey, and GREY!

We made a soulslike we feel Nintendo would have made. Sold. Looks like a fusion of platforming/puzzle stuff and soulslike. The shell mechanic is kinda genius.
as someone who is playing this game on easy mode, its still extremely hard😂 another crab's treasure is a new favorite of mine. its soooooooo gooooood

beat the game after 19 hours, the shark is def the main villain yes yes
and he is voiced by Michael Reeves
They really did create a unique game and world, I love this.
It brings me back to the feel of old paltforming games but still has the feel of a souls like and it’s amazing how they got all of it to mix so well.
The puns are great, and the shell mechanic is 10/10

Took down the Grovekeeper last night. What a fight. Took me a few hours. Afterwards I started thinking, 'how long is this game.' I don't want this to end any time soon. So, far this is my favorite game of 2024. And one of the best soulslike out there.

Not a fan of souls type games, but your comments about the flexible accessibility options have convinced me to give this game a try!
As a Marylander love the addition of the Old Bay container. Also the art style is definitely a breath of fresh air is the souls like genre.
I'm not big on Souls games. I only platinum Sekiro and Lies of P, but the fact that your main character is a crab got my attention. I always wanted a combat heavy game with crabs and lobsters. Maybe someday someone will make a game starring a mantis. Think of all the combat possibilities with a mantis.
As an aspiring game dev, you just gave me an idea. I’ll come back here someday with a demo.
@@hashslingingslasher3083 Check out the game Deadly Creatures on the Wii. That was what gave me the idea that a mantis game would be awesome.
The game Clash: Artifacts of Chaos may be interesting to check out too. People have called it a kind of Soulslike, but the only Soulslike elements are some health flasks, regions that loop back on themselves through shortcuts, and set checkpoints with campfires.
It's more of a 3D brawler/fighting game where you can find and assign different combat Stances and Special Attacks to customize your own style with. They can be individually upgraded, too.
The world's very colorful, almost prehistoric, and has hardly any humans in it-- it's full of sapient monsters, freaks and chimeras that look like they could have appeared in The Dark Crystal or a similar production with Jim Henson puppets.
Either way though, wish you a lot of fun on this crustacean tale first.
I was thinking the same thing maybe based in the backyard or park would be nice

Oh this was a real treat! It was ingenious to come out with a game like this. I can't even say that I've played Souls games or Soulslike games. All I know is that I love the character and it's a fun cartoon based game that takes place in the ocean that looks like a real blast! Thank you guys for making this game happen! I'll sure be staying tuned.
I’ve been playing this all weekend, and I’m just obsessed…
I saw this was a vid where the devs actually spoke about their intentions, and I just want to say - you knocked it out of the park. Truly.
I’m something of a “Souls vet,” and this absolutely stands toe-to-toe with any soulslike out there. It might be my new favorite that’s not an actual FromSoft work. It just “feels” right, from combat to exploration…
But also, I’ve been gaming since I was a kid in the early ‘90’s, and some of my fondest memories are of exploring the (at the time) mind-blowing worlds of N64 or GameCube-era 3D platformers, and this game manages to evoke that so beautifully, as well. Bright colors, great design, and cute choices/details sell this kind of world so much better than the flashiest new graphics, and while this is visually fancier than those old games and no slouch, it just really taps into that spirit so well.
On top of that, the writing in this is just phenomenal. Huge ups for creating such a based piece of anti-capitalist art that somehow still manages to stay funny instead of preachy. Every line of NPC dialogue is a delight, and that is just not something I pretty much ever feel about video games in general (usually with dialogue my feeling is, less is always more… but here I was running around to see what every rando townie had to say).
I just… I love it. I don’t know if this is your studio’s “deal,” but please, please consider a sequel, or at least making another soulslike!! 🙏
Hope this game gets a sequel it seems deserving of one. I really enjoyed watching the gameplay. Hope it'll be available on ps4.
Guys this game must survive I love those lights hearted jokes inside and it's over all designs I beg for it to be finished and done
I never finished any soulslike. I usually get furstrated after about 10 hrs, my biggest problem is that i cant parry/block for the life of me. Thats why i never finished lies of p, thymesia, deadcells, salt and sanctuary, blasphemous, ender lilies.
This game is so much fun though. I beat the wandering crab dude in the sands between on my own before even getting the first map piece. Right now im fighting the caged abomination in the junkyard sidepath. I love it.

I absolutely LOVE the game, but have a few suggestions. I would really like a ng+ mode, and maybe try and do something about the load stutter/freezes between sections of the zones. I died more than a few times because of them and from the other videos I’ve seen it doesn’t seem to be only me. Also I had smokescreen glitch out and give me a permascreen throughout the laser eye crab zone which really killed the entire thing. Aside from those few things this has been one of my favorite games of the past few years. Great shuckin job guys. Please add dlc, I need more!

I feel the intro could have onboard me little more. I might need to put all the assists on easy just to get into it lol
I think it would of been cool if the pistol was unlocked as a reward to beating the game on normal or harder modes. Reward the players who played it the harder way. I think that would of made more people happy and made it more rewarding
I think its great as an accessibility option. They could maybe turn off boss achievements if you use the gun during your run so you still feel inclined not to and get the gratification.

Is it that for legal reasons Anor Londo isn't in the game or that for legal reasons "Anor Londo" isn't in the game? Because I would really like to rampage through with the gun shell just for kicks.

This game is just absolutely amazing,like the OG games.
THE reason I kept playing all the way through til the end was BECAUSE of the storytelling and the art style. The bright colors and puns were HUGE for me. Dark Souls is super dead in the color department. Everything is bleak in those worlds. But I absolutely was gripped by ACT's world. I love brighter colors, and I enjoy the concept of Dark Souls, so this was a marriage in heaven for me.
I'm looking forward to this much

3rd act blew my mind
I bought this on the switch and it keeps freezing. I’m buying it on my PC again because it was so fun. It reminds me more of hollow knight than a souls game. If that makes sense. You can’t really switch your character and you just upgrade one weapon. Well that’s all I’ve seen so far. But I love it

Technically we do kill him because we can find the loan shark tossed behind prawnathan 's shop , so prawnathannwas the loan shark all along
