    Thanks for showing the way the pond box filter works it help me a lot, I am a novice to this kind of thing I now have fish for the pass 4 year's and had to read to learn and by watching on CZcams about how to carry out the care of looking after my pond as beforehand my dear old dad used to do.So when he died I inherited the Care and job of the fish ponds needs.so when I needed to get a new pond filter fountain to replace a broken old one I got the blaglon 3 in 1 as I was new to this it ok but I feel I will need a better in near future as I can see the pond need a much bigger one.And as we have the pond near by trees that does the same thing,so now I need to find a video on CZcams to watch and learn how to set up from the beginning of a new filter box like yours thankyou from someone who's love her pond and now understand a little more then 4 years ago.

    Do you leave the filter/ pump running as nornal when you do this? As I've seen a few people turn the filter off first, many thanks

    very informative and it matches the PFC 3000 I have.. i've just cleaned and replaced the filters and the biggest i had was splitting the top from the container..... is there a special tool or do you have to drain all the water ... or is there a special pressure relief

    • @Richbowker
      @Richbowker  Před 2 lety

      Hi, no special tool. You just have to undo the clip to release the strap that holds the lid to the base. It can be hard to split the two apart, I lift the top by using the inlet and waste outlets as handles. Cheers

    Can u just attach a hose to the diverter so I can run it to a drain when I want to clean it ? Or does it have to be a pipe ?

    • @Richbowker
      @Richbowker  Před 3 lety +2

      A standard hose would be to small but any flexible pipe from an aquatics shop will fit. The diverter is stepped so you have many hose diameter options. You wouldn’t have to attach it permanently. You could just push it on when you need to uses it.

    I have the 20,000 running off the 8000 pump
    I have just noticed the orange spinning thing has stoped spinning on mine
    Will this cause an affect do you think or is it just to show you that it’s flowing? Obviously you know it’s flowing because the waterfall is working. Also the you tube add for this filter shows the clear part on the pipe going back to the pond not from the pond to the filter as shown on the instructions. Vary confusing

    • @Richbowker
      @Richbowker  Před 2 lety

      Hi, mine stooped working not long after I had it. It won’t affect the operation of the pump or filter whatsoever.

    • @robgrant2716
      @robgrant2716 Před 2 lety

      @@Richbowker yea I thought as much
      I swapped it over to the outlet as the manufacturer says it shows you the water that’s going back into the pond and it has started working again now

      How big is your pond please mate? And do you find it to be suitable? I've just built a 7000ltr pond and want to run a 10k pump on the 25k filter.. Wasn't sure if it would be overkill or unkill

    Where do you buy waist tap mate ?

  • @dianamccandless7094
    @dianamccandless7094 Před rokem

    But you didn't actually "CLEAN" the filter. You Back-flushed it. Cleaning involves disassembling and removing the trapped mud from all the bio filter material.

    • @Richbowker
      @Richbowker  Před rokem

      This does “clean” the filter, this removes all the sludge from the mechanical filter media. Turning the handle physically applies pressured the the sponges, just like your hand would when cleaning a regular filter. I don’t touch my bio media unless it necessary.

  • @funkystuf23
    @funkystuf23 Před rokem +1

    Don’t worry about treating the tap water? Are you crazy? It will be like acid to them poor fish!!

    • @Richbowker
      @Richbowker  Před rokem

      Not when your adding a few hundred litres to 1200 litres. Pure tap water wouldn’t harm fish. We only treat water because the chlorine/fluoride kills the beneficial bacteria.

    • @RCrudi
      @RCrudi Před rokem

      @@Richbowker 'few hundred litres' is 20% of your pond? Chlorine is added to the main drinking water system to kill bacteria right... the stuff that forms the base of the ecosystem our ponds and aquariums rely on. But not yours?

  • @dianamccandless7094
    @dianamccandless7094 Před rokem

    you shouldn't waste all that good fish poop fertilizer sending it down the drain! It is intended to be put onto the plants in your garden as fertilizer.

    • @Richbowker
      @Richbowker  Před rokem

      I do sometimes use it to water the plants, but for this video it wasn’t really appropriate to start to water the plants, when I was recording 😜
