- Hey gang, here is a quick one for the EquipmentDefender trailer racks. For those of you familiar with the Green Touch racks, these are similar, but with a few improvements from what I understand.
These guys sent us the 4 position trimmer racks plus the backpack sprayer rack. I broke the video up into 2 parts just because the clips were lengthy because of the install footage. I have to say, just from getting familiar with them while installing them, I can tell you straight up, these things seem awesome. I love the fact they have the locking option as well, something my previous Gridiron racks did not come with. You can never have enough security with your equipment and trailers.

I've been using these racks for years and love them! Just ordered a new full setup for a new trailer/new route as we're growing. Not related to this video… What type of interior paint did you use on your trailer? I am in the process of painting mine right now and I want some good paint that is flexible and durable. I used KILZ® Premium for the first layer on top of the naked plywood, for mildew resistance, and I need some help picking out a topcoat. Thanks

It seems like it takes more time and effort to put the trimmer back on and off the rack? Isn’t it easier and quicker to access the trimmer by placing it in the bed of the truck instead of having to attach it to a bracket then detach it when you need to use it? Any time you can eliminate a step throughout the day to get the lawns done the better? Thoughts?
Just purchased this rack very happy with the quality however I would like my trimmers to have the engine on the left side .Can the lockable rack on the right side be moved to the left side? Thanks

I just installed my racks but I am having a problem unlocking the lock
How to use that red locking system
It won’t turn to the left to unlock I tried several time with the key and doesn’t work
I'm not sure. Perhaps you don't have the trimmer blocks lined up correctly. that would be my guess!

It seems like there’s a lot of wasted space behind that trimmer rack. Why isn’t it flush mounted or why is it sticking out about 8 inches from the trailer wall? Or what is the measurement from the trailer wall to the equipment head? I’m actually considering purchasing the four position unit from Equipment Defender this week.
You have to have room for the engine's of course, but other than that, some folks have bent shaft edgers. Those stick out a few inches towards the wall for sure. It's actually pretty sleak. I don't think you'll find either brand runs "closer" to the wall than the other. I may be wrong. I haven't had any issues with mine how it sits currently. Best of luck with either brand you choose mate.

Maybe 6-8”. Just far enough for a bent shaft edger to fit I can confirm.

I would say so, but you might get a little squished if it's a 7x14 trailer. 8.5x and you'll be okay.

Plus don’t they take up precious space inside the trailer? If they are not anchored properly to the stud they will vibrate loose.
