Overpriced trash
Kevin using kettlebells? NICE. Check out Mark Wildman, Lebe Stark & Coach Dan John for proper kettlebell usage & workouts!
Mind blow also needs to be a pod cast .... I would love to listen to this on the way into work each day
God I missed mind blow!
Thank you for bringing it back.
What is Ligma? As a medical physician, I'd guessed I had come across all the diseases, but this one is new to me. Would appreciate to learn more.
change the comment before its late bro
LIGMA BoLLS
Ligma.. ligma balls 😏
LIGMA BOLS GOTTEUHME, or just Ligma for short, is a condition where the skin on your groin will produce extra sodium that hardens in the skin and can be very painful. Currently the only treatment is applying a thick layer of saliva to break down the sodium clusters.
Ligma balls
Yahhh! Old style Vsauce videos again! Please make more of these so I can continue to learn about new, amazing discoveries.
vsauc2 is the new old vsauce??
I hope we get some new DONGs!
@@pvic6959 all vsauces are good I sip them all
Yeah! But the story about moths not being attracted to light is bunk. "They turn their backs to light" would mean that they fly away from light. From much personal experience, moths *do* fly toward light.
I feel like I’ve been transported back to 2010 watching this. I love this so much. A reminder of happier times.
Dude the old style outro just gave me chills, I missed mind blow more than I thought lol
it is so nostalgic to see these videos back. They are amazing!!!!! And Jake Chudnow's songs are also amazing. I am a scientist and my goal is one day to be featured in Vsauce2!!!!!
Hi, neuroscientist here:
The MRI thing isn't quite correctly explained. The MRI isn't better than what is used in research for a while already...it uses an 9.4 Tesla MRI, which isn't bad, but there already lots of 11-Tesla machines (especially in the Netherlands interestingly), and the uni Nijmegen is working on building a 14-Tesla one (this number might not be correct, I cite from memory).
What the researcher in the article describe is...to be blunt, very underwhelming considering what they wrote. They didn't do an extremely high accuracy MRI scan...they did an MRI scan, then did a MICROSCOPE scan (with light-sheet-microscopy, which exist for quite a while already), and overlap the microscope images onto the overlay of the MRI scan. It looks nice, it can be useful to get a nicer view of brain areas vs. cell structure, but in NO WAY is it as "revolutionary" or "highly complex" as they make it out to be.
If anything I said is wrong, please correct me! That's just the way I understood the article!
tldr.; They aren't doing revolutionary new MRI scans, they just overlap regular MRI scans with regular light-sheet-microscopy images to make it look nicer.
This man could gaslight people into believing earth is flat
Ok, can you *please* confirm that you will remember me when you become famous?
This is the 11th day of me asking you to do so, pls
It is 😂
@@tonnentonie2767 This is bait.
@@quantum411 I don't care the earth is flat and everyone needs to now. THEY are lying to us all the time!
@@quantum411 Pff okay globe boy.
Long ago, I read that light stimulates eye-related nerves to weaken muscles on the bright side. The stronger, dark-side muscles then auto-steer bugs towards bright light. Daylight doesn't have this effect as its light arrives from everywhere. _(all from memory, corrections welcome)_
While I very much like new vsauce, old vsauce holds strong sentimental and nostalgic value. This video tapped into that 100%, and like many have said, it feels like I was just transported back a decade. We'd love more of this!
If you look at the entire journey of Vsauce channels, I'd say they're one of the best if not the best thing that have happened to youtube, throughout youtube's journey.
These are fun! Hope they're doing well, and stay fun to make. There sure is enough tech news and science obscura to provide fodder, and too much to keep up with, so this is great to see.
"Thousands of never-before seen viruses deep in the dookie" sounds like an awesome thrash metal song.
I had no idea that I missed this as much as I do. Amazing. Thank you for bringing it back. More please!
Gravitational lensing is actually what got me into science lately, absolutely mind blowing.
Mind bending
I enjoy these being back, just a glimpse of new studies and discovery of new methods of all sorts of things.
From baby diapers to gravitational lencing... really love this channel
Yay, Mind Blow is back!!! Thank you so much Kevin!!!
Hey guys, so glad you're back. Been missing these scalpel sharp videos. Thanx 4 coming back
This made my year, glad to see mindblow is back!
We need more of this style!
Unlike most CZcams content Mind Blow always makes me happy I took the time to watch it. Thank you for the upgrade.
We need these every week, bring back the good old Vsauce videos
awesome video, love the updated structure for the show
Thank you for another great video! Love the energy in your voice when you do these. :D
Please make more of this 🙏
I have missed the old VSauce2 style so bad
Mindblown is done thanks to us, a previous video has the fund/fact input so that we suggest the mindblowing info and he can make these videos, while vsauce investigates other things
I am all for the old style of Vsauce videos again. Thank you Kevin :)
Also voicing appreciation for bringing back Mind Blow & would love to see more old-styled content too. Jake Chudnow's music is rad, the saucey outro is rad, keep it up!!!
@5:40 Now I need a MacGuyver episode where he closees an extreme wound in a kitchen.
That was awesome! Great to see some good news, let alone cool science news!
Beautiful work
The first one is really weird. Like, no, I for sure know insects do fly towards light and stay on it. Maybe some moths don't, but moscitos and other little bugs definetly insist on staying on my screen during nights. The study isn't peer-reviewed, so I take it with a big grain of salt. Don't think it's faulty in it's measurements, but conclusions might be a bit too far-going
Mind blow is like the daily dose of internet but with science 😅❤
I am so glad MindBlow is back!
This makes me happy and actually makes me feel like we ARE progressing in some way when all seems lost.
I really love the old primitive tech shown at the end of mindblows, they get me so excited for technological advancement
Factor for some reason has no way to set profile preferences or sensitivities to certain ingredients. Like, you can't mark a specific recipe to never be sent to you, so I've found that if I forget to log into the app on time, I always get delivered the same few items that I can't eat.
Had it for over a year and need to cancel because of this. Just a heads up if you're interested but have food sensitivities.
Very good to know, thanks for the info! I'm going to try to give only one week of it as a gift to a friend, do you know if there would be any unforeseen consequences there?
Love that these videos are back, but can’t help but say they were better with the music as well.
totally missed mind blow. Thank you so much for bringing it back!
This noticeably improved my day, thanks.
Ive known about the bugs confusing light with the sun for years
love it, this old style vsauce reminds me of my childhood days. :)
I watched Mind Blow when I was young. I fell in love with learning
life couldn't get any better, mindblow is back
I adore Mind Blow!
A moth must have burnt itself on the candle flame after pondering,
Perhaps in this very burning, lies the pleasure of existence.
I'd be interested to see a deep dive on the bug-light phenomenon.
I've seen more bugs than I care to count fly directly into propane gas lamps and meet a crispy demise.
Yeah and I don't understand how the explanation in this video makes sense, at all.
@@sumner1107 The bugs at night try to navigate by some celestial light source, e.g. the Moon, but then with an artificial light source, the "Moon" is a lot closer than they think it is. They try to keep the light source at a constant angle from themselves, but this just draws them into a spiral.
@@Nemozoli Right, I understand that part... but what about the bugs that don't spiral.
Also, why does it draw bugs from long distances, are they spiraling all the way in from 20 meters away?
This video is one big blast from the past.
more mind blow! thank you patrons.
Im kinda sad I hadn't been watching this show literally years ago, this is awesome!
5:15 "My stomach was making the rumblies, that only hands could satisfy"
Omg I am so happy that these are back
This is the type of vsauce mind blow I've been missing.
Those early days of computers seem almost like yesterday to me. It's crazy how much the world has changed in such a short period of time. The world is on the precipice of even more dramatic change than that. The soon-to-be era of common robotics, AI, genetic enhancement, neural enhancements, and body augmentation is nearly here. In 100 years, people will look back on us as we look back upon the Neanderthals. Ancestor relatives, but not quite human.
I was on Prestel/Micronet circa 1984 ! That was with a Sinclair ZX Spectrum 48K and the VTX5000 modem.
Yay, mindblow! Still needs the exploding head animation at the start, though.
This was great!
I missed this... resubbed the moment I saw a mindblow video that was a few months old only.
Bring back the old head explosion intro too if possible. :D
How weird I was watching a moth flying around a street light a few days ago and wondered the same thing. What a co-inky-dink
that outro music and graphic....reactivated a part of me i though had been long dead. i thank you
Yaaaaay! Another one of the MIndBlow video !
You made my day again. It feals like the golden days of youtube again!
Hi! I am writing you to let you know that I appreciate very much your videos and the hard work they all entail!
I didn't realize how much I missed old Vsauce till just now. I forgot about squeezing the NES Cartridge to release the knowledge sauce.
So the moths just think they're orienting themselves to the moonlight the whole time? I thought that was obvious.
Finally first good upload for years
Mind Blow is back, My week is made
I used to watch every single vsauce 2 video and now I’m so happy the classics are coming back 😎
This was very enjoyable
Keep up the good work ❤
Can you make a video about heating food in plastic containers to proof that the plastic transfers to the food
5:07 Ah yes, a practice that was popularized by lesser-known Pharaoh Yoshikage Kira
Mind blow is back? Wuhuuu finally! 🎉
The way you said microscopy at 3:58 has me dead 💀🤣
Confusion doesn't account for the bugs that fill up the grid in my bug zapper. They want to get to that sweet, sweet ultraviolet tube. Or the ones that hang out on the wall by the porch light (std white incandescent) as though they were sunbathing. The ones that orbit like moths may well be confused.
Yeah I don't understand how the explanation he gave makes any sense. Am I supposed to believe the bugs are flying backwards?
MIND BLOW ! so nostaglic man these videos are the best on youtube. if we could gaurntee a mindblow twice or once a week i will donate to the pateron !
Keep making this videos 👍👍👍👍
In honoring the old style of Vsause and dearly missed MindBlow I therefore ask:
What is Ligma?
Oooh, I missed these videos!
More of Mind Blow and PLEASE BRING BACK LUT!!!
I missed these videos more than I can express
the song playing at the last 10 seconds is the most nostalgic thing in my life o.o.
I love Mindblow so much
Last one was the best, I remember those times.
Finally old style vsauce vids
What is the song that plays at the very end of the video?
Love the videos
What year is it?! Lets go Vsauce!!!!
Great video
Mind Blow??? What year is it??? I've missed this so much
@2:51 HAHA yes! My family would do Dorito Casserole when I was a kid.
The outro! My nostalgic little heart
when these videos come out i have hope for humanity even though it's only for 7 minutes
Cool thanks
I like the vintage mind blow
I'd never really thought about insects being attracted to lights. They go towards them so from our perspective it's just an easy way to describe that fact. If someone turns on a light you wouldn't say, “that is going to confuse the insects” because the human concern is simply that it will “attract” them which in a sense it does, even if they aren't trying to fly towards it. They obviously aren't attracted to the moon either, they are just guided by it so it seems straightforward enough. Even if they were flying towards lights they are still being confused by them because they aren't the lights they are supposed to be guided by.
Re Bùgs, it's a defence &/or ambush mechanism, like In the ocean, fishys are light on the bottom and dark on top, to blend in with the background. An Insy keeps its back to the moon to reduce how easy it is to be seen.
3:49 We ripped out rebar from every building 12 miles down the road with our MRI but now we can definetly say that you do in fact, have a brain.
I remember dial up XD
I also remember a time when you got booted off the internet when you used the landline telephone. Ah let's not forget memories of taking a half hour trying to load a single picture from a busy site. Those were the days...long, long days :D
