You sold out
Tbh I really like this game. I must have spent weeks in the ally horde mode perfecting long distance brick throws.
The brick is the best weapon in the game by far, a well placed brick toss to the feet of an enemy sends them tumbling then just stomp them out.
Great video, as always. Quick question, have you ever played Breakdown? And if so, could you do a video about it? :P
Man why have you not reviewed the persistence? It’s pretty good it’s like alien isolation mixed with condemned and some dead space
Yeah I also thought that line was pretty funny the way it was delivered.
"You're a drunk and a liability!" Here take this shotgun and follow me into this crackhouse.
Even my little brother cracked up at it when I rented the game eons ago.
"You are a deeply unstable person and I don't like you. Here, have a gun."
@@codywest3879 What could possibly go wrong bro?
@@dickpenisman7326 don't think about it, bro.
@@Spit1990 I know the plot I won't ruin it lol. He was basically saying please die.
@@dickpenisman7326 i was making a joke at the expense of Ethan Kline.
We all know the plot.
Here's hoping they make another condemned sequel. This series is highly underrated.
As long as WB has nothing to do with it? We'll be fine.
Condemned 3 featuring fortnite
@@vrapbrap Condemned 3 featuring Dante from the Devil May Cry Series.
@@vrapbrap Condemned Battle Royale with lootboxes.
That would be awesome!
But only if they do it right and make it so you can only play as a female.
It’s really not underrated it’s honestly pretty bad not knocking g man putting a review out on it definitely an interesting game but it’s definitely not underrated this game is trash and just proves how dry the gaming industry is rn
I miss both Condemned games. There is something about that edgy period and the melee combat was brutal.
I just bought the first Condemned on PC. Still fun and spooky even over 15 years later. It’s beyond stupid that Bloodshot doesn’t have a PC port yet.
@@kaj7135 lil pc nigga mad
@@kaj7135 Facts. Just finished the first Condemned and loved it. Was disappointed when searching up Condemned 2 on steam brought up nothing.
Melee combat was the most memorable thing in Condemned. Right up there with Dying Light in you could parry attacks while your enemies could do their own feints with their swings to mess with you.

Monolith is one of the few companies that seems like ruining their own franchises or at least, just abandoning them like NOLF or Shogo
Shogo hurts because Snakefist was wearing a Shogo 2 tee shirt in FEAR 2.
They've got the tech to make what Shogo should've been, but they won't today.
AAA gaming sucks.
new NOLF would be nice, or a remaster of the first one, hm, fck now i feel the need to play NOLF, omg :) oh well, lets get to it
NOLF is fucked because 3 different companies own the assets (Disney through Fox Interactive, the copublisher; Activision through Sierra the other publisher; and Warner Bros, who bought Monolith and owns the games engine)
@@hipsterelephant2660 Pretty much.
@Hipster Elephant, Is this also why I can't play Aliens Vs Predator 2 on pc or consoles too?
That game is 20 years old now and is not available on anything. Lame.
Ok, that "schwacked" was was real good. xD
It feels strange saying I look forward to Gman insulting my mum in his videos.
@@bamb0ostick They always come when I'm not expecting them... just like a night at your mum's house.
That last part "Before Society collapses and this game becomes a simulator of real life" kinda deep and disturbing..lol
It's also pretty doom and gloom.
Its gonna be robocop world or metro 2023. Pick
Ethan's 'voice powers' weren't a surprise addition to the second game, they were set up in the first, Rosa gives Ethan x-rays and states he has abnormally high bone density in his chest and throat, everyone seems to miss that. Bloody amazing games.
I missed it for sure that's an interesting lil fact tho
@@PrincessGrumps It's in the Library mission of the first game, the X-rays of his chest are all redacted.
The thing they left out in Bloodshot was Ethans clairvoyant detective abilities, which he had in the first game.
Both are great games, though.
But how does that set up voice powers? Having abnormally high bone density in your chest and throat doesn't mean anything other than you have high bone density in those places.
@@visassess8607 The bone density was part of the explanation for the source of the voice powers. I don't remember super well, but pretty sure the Oro enemies with their voice powers are present in the final level of the first game as well. Not necessarily the deepest setup but definitely seems like they were planting the seeds for some of the story from the second game.
@@spookyman5468 plus you could argue he never lost his clairvoyant abilities they were just distorted and corrupted (hell after the nightmare sequence which is symbolic for a reason in the police station take the elevator before you press the button turn around and read the paper on the wall). Ethan had to work through his trauma that he got from the first game and confront his own shadow in form of the alcohol demon and later aceptance demon in order to gradually come back in shape again. He never lost his clairvoyant abilities.
The bear chase scene set the bar for any scary action set pieces back when I first played. It was so original and unprecedented. When the bear was about to charge and you had to sit there aiming at the tanks waiting for the right time to shoot while ominous strings played was simply next to none. Incredible
Peak of the game. The whole level was amazing.
Christ that sponsor just fit into this video almost INSTANTLY I didn’t even realize it until you kept talking about it for 2 minutes. Genius mate.
yeah bret cooper also does the same thing.
The original Condemned was a great game that surprised me as I wasn't expecting much from it
I've been a big fan of Monolith games honestly. Crazy and brutal. Interesting stories from most of them. Haven't had that level of edge and brutality from horror games I've seen since then.
It was a great launch title for the 360
it was made by monolith, why were you not expecting much from it? thats your bad.
Bro this game unlocked memories I completely forgot about. Wow I need to remember this
there's actually a condemned 2 multiplayer discord server if anyone is interested in joining. i post some gameplay videos of the multiplayer game sessions most of the time, and the discord link is also in the descriptions of those condemned videos. we still haven't had a full 8 player lobby yet :(
Thats cool asf bro lol ima join yall, im almost done w the game
7:31 You could sprint in the original Condemned. It was limited, but it was there.
@St. Haborym Hey, I didn't say you turned into Usain Bolt, just that a speed up existed.
Still keep hoping that the Condemned 2 will come to PC one day. Or a remake of the first one.
I fucking wish....condemned 1 is so fucking good, especially with some custom reshade action. Pissed I can't play the 2nd without getting a 360
in GOG we trust
Game isn't even backwards compatible on Xbox One X and Xbox Series X like the original Condemned Criminal Origins.
Monolith Productions doesn't care for their older games sadly.
It’s not even playable trough backwards compatibility.
Such a shame

Monolith has a lot of underrated series, and I hope they make more of their unique games.
haha no
don't hold your breath
Wait, they still exist? I thought they went belly-up with countless other studios.
@@lilwyvern4 yes, they made the middle earth series. To answer the original question: no, we will never get games from them like FEAR or Condemned ever again unfortunately

I really like this game, despite turning into an M4 shooting fest in the last few levels. Great game. Love both.
I miss single player FPS games being released regularly.
I remember really enjoying it too
I remember switching turns with my friend as we nailed hobos with bricks in the fighting pit.
The bear alone lifts the game several notches.

The rabid bear part was fucking intense lol "survive"
@@harmonicresonance182 I loved playing with friends and seeing their reactions to that part
Same man. The fighting system and atmosphere was really good. That "abandoned" bear resort and factory were great. I think they nailed the immersive sim vibe.
Man I loved both of these games on 360. Wish they'd remaster them for current consoles.
@spindletea Better than something sanctioned by WB. Got to be careful asking for remasters these days.

After writing game reviews, both in and out of the video game journalism industry, for the last 11 years - you, Gman, have inspired me to learn video editing so I might translate what I've written from page to screen. Thank you.
For the exploding dolls part, it's highly implied that the doll woman may have created them.
Loved this game. The way the blunt objects feel when you smack someone over the head is something special. Can feel the weight of the hits behind it.

I’m so glad the algorithm blessed me with GmanLives. I’ve been catching up on all of his reviews. The man is top tier in his content. Here is to many more 🍻
The level with the bear is still one of my favorite horror levels. The amount of tension and anxiety it gave me never left. Soooo good
I'm glad I'm not the only one. I think it's a prime example how to pace a level, make it immersive and spooky. Definitely peak of the game. Factory was good too
Gman: I won't spoil the ending
Also Gman: 'spoils the ending'
The bear cabin chase sequence literally puts every moment in RE7 to shame easy imo.As a matter of fact the whole game is more creepier and scarier than RE7.That what gets me when people praised the Bakers and I said that some of those people never played Condemned 2.
Condemned 2 feels like it was developed by two separate teams that both had different ideas of what the game should be.
this happens alot in game development believe it or not
Still a solid sequel, regardless.
yeah it was good but it had the potencial to be so much better..😐 they were so caught up on the multiplayer aspect they lost focus of the single player story mode.
@@majinvegeta7777 honestly i didnt think so at ALL. The multiplayer was definitely the weakest point in the game but not bad. It was fun but the story was something could not ever be “remade” its actually original and i fucking love it for that.
@@majinvegeta7777 Im still till this day trying to find a game that resembles this masterpiece in any way shape or form just in general. Even the gameplay. It just feels different.
The Gumball Machine seems like an odd weapon until you realize you can also use a Toilet Seat, and after using it for a while you come to realize it's the most well-balanced melee weapon in the game.
Gman, idk if anyone has ever told you this, but you and your review style is very similar to Adam Sessler. You remind me so much of him from back in the Extended play and X-Play days and I love it
We definitely need a 3rd entry!!
FINALLY
Been waiting on this one for a while
Keep it up dude!
I've loved the scripts of your videos for years now, glad to see you're getting sponsored.
Wait one of my favorite CZcamsrs is talking about one of my favorite games when I was a teen nice thanks man
Love how even your ad reads are just YOU. Loving the vid so far, Gman
one of my all time favorite memories of childhood gaming. Thanks for covering it
Hey Gman, once again you nailed it with that vid, congrats dude.
I wondered for a long time : what's your all-time favourite fps game?
Looking forward to watch your next video
I remember many many years ago playing this little by little whenever I visited a cousin over the period of a couple of months. I actually got to the final level but didn't actually get to finish it. Would love a PC port.
I will say that part with the Bear was pretty good!
Awesome game with some fantastic mindffing moments...
That level on the police station, The doll factory and the part where a bear chases you throughout the cabin are things I still fondly remember 13 years later.. (allthough you didn't like some of those)
Such a criminally underrated game.
Bashing in hobos was always mostly enjoyable
😆😆😆
Had some of the most impactful first-person melee combat I've ever experienced. I'd love if the upcoming Elder Scrolls game has this level of melee combat impact. Haven't played this game in forever. I may have to pull it out and play some soon. Great video as always.
Upcoming elder scrolls lmao man thats pretty funny
Holds up pretty well even though the "presentation" aspect of it is trying way too hard to be David Fincher. The gameplay and atmosphere were amazing.
Condemned gameplay would cause lasting mental trauma for the average Elder Scrolls fan
@@My600lbStrife Hahaha this is so true.
@@12ealDealOfficial Sorry for the late reply, never got a notice from CZcams until the most recent comment, but yea I agree completely.
I think this is the best version of the "Shwacked" joke so far.
Really like these longer, more detailed reviews. Kinda like to see more
I remember playing condemned one when it came out. It looked amazing for a console at the time. Condemned 2 isn't that bad. I enjoyed it.
Also I love off the goddamn rails. Give me weird shit.
Legit one of the last truly scary games, I thought. Played the demo on X360 when it came out and I remember being reluctant to go towards the sounds of the homeless guy when your partner and that cop leave you by yourself. Great game.
I loved this game. So glad you’re talking about it
Man. That CZcams title brings back memories i forgot about
I'd been trying for the longest time to remember what the name of this game was, thank you! I really enjoyed it when it came out.
You're videos are to awesome gman keep up the good work 👍🏼👍🏼
sooo....You're not going to kick anything? I remember playing this game back in the day and it was fun. The non weapon combat wasn't bad if you actually did everything available
So true man. Also no one is talking about the hook attacks (pushing in the left stick and then L1 or Left Bumper to get around players who constantly spam parry/block. Game was awesome
throwing a weapon at a running hobo's legs then stomping him while he slid towards you was never not funny
Loved that kick, it was even changing the variation depending on where you were looking but nowadays gaming has become a "who's going to grab more money from 12 year olds" fest and everything is dumbed down
I actually love the combat system.
Like seriously, punching and kicking people is satisfying
Did any of y'all throw a beer bottle on an enemy then use the tazer to set them on fire?
I remember Edge magazine calling this "a nasty demented piece of work"
I have to say that I like the fact that you time stamp your sponsor spots, thank you for that. Why don't anyone else do it? Keep up the good work Gman.
Your editing on this one is on another level bro 👍
Here's hoping they remaster the original on PC and release this one on PC as well... And with controller support. This series plays much better with a controller.
No please just no. We seriously need to drastically reduce the number of remasters it's been old for awhile but it's reaching absurd levels now
The original is on steam
This game holds a special place in my childhood. My parents would buy me anything lol
I've seen your review and it was interesting to see your new point of view again :D
Yo hit every nail on the head perfect
Good work
One of my absolute favorite series. Man, that cliffhanger needs to be resolved with Half Life 3 levels of required urgency
The condemned series is super underrated IMO. I’d love to see a third game someday
I really enjoy your content, man!
Those mum jokes you put in nonchalently are golden ;D
You got good editing skills too ;)
I had played the first one when I was a teenager on a local internet Cafe, even finished and that time it had really blown my mind, the atmosphere, the combat, the story it was all so unique and great.
When the 2nd one came out and played it I really loved it, the punching addition, Ethan's evolution from the first game, even bought it years after, the goo parts though were absolutely annoying
11:22
Never thought Schwacked would come back.
Come back lol when did it leave?
I'll always remember the museum and the cabin.
"Man I could really use a weapon"
*medieval exhibit ahead*
Iread an interview from a dev' from Monolith who said that somebody from Sega told them to create a multiplayer mode because the marketing did a study and said that they would sell more games and this is the reason why they were not able to get a single player campaign as good as the one from the first.
For anyone that wants to relive or just start to get into the multiplayer experience of this game, we have a dedicated discord for it. We host and play on both XBL and Xlink Kai servers for both Xbox and PS3 respectively. discord.gg/gW7XdmA
The gaming engine and the atmosphere was absolutely incredible. I really hope they continue the series.
Such wonderful editing. xD
Was just thinking about the condemned series today, especially the marketing with all the pictures of smashed up mannequins. Loved them both even if 2 shit the bed story wise near the end. Would love to see a continuation or revival.
Be careful what you wish for. With WB at the helm, the story will probably be more distracting than it is good, and the gameplay even more on the action side.
7:30 TF2 update confirmed
Fuck yeah this is what I'm talking about!!! Been waiting for you to review this one.
Been waiting for this video for ages
These games need remasters please!
Will there be an fps retrospective this year?
Probably not. There hasn't been many to talk about.
Still weird as hell to me that they haven't remastered these games. Introducing this series to a whole new generation that never played it would be huge. This series would blow up in success with how popular horror games are now and how unique these games are.
This is one of my favorite series and when I watch the original video you made I was a bit surprised at your opinion but I enjoyed the video all the same. I see now this feels more like what I felt like. There is just something about this series that pulls you in and for whatever reason its just a memorable set of games. Either way I enjoy your videos even if I dont agree with all the points, they are well made and entertaining.
I remember beating this game back in high school. I rented it numerous times for its cops and crackheads style multiplayer mode it had. I tried several times to get through the story, but I'd always seemingly give up as I never understood the parry system too well. I eventually got a hang of the mechanics and beat the game. The levels that actually required you to shoot through them were hands down some of the weakest points and actually some of the weakest in terms of the Monolith engine itself. But everything else, the eerie horror, melee and 'occasional', gunfight and ambience was generally great. This game has never once left my mind. Steam grab this title please!
Mah ni66a
Condemned 2 was the first LP I ever watched on YT back in the day, it holds a special place in my heart 🖤
10:05 here I was wondering if you were gonna include any Tourettes Guy soundbites in this video, but as usual, you delivered.
I love condemned 2, I feel like the jank fits into the setting nicely.
However I agree that C2 suffers from the "let's explain everything in the sequel syndrome" which kind of ruins the horror aspect of the game. Oh and we should also mention how much the game suffered because Warner brothers wanted a mandatory multiplayer complement, so they split the team in half to get it done.
Multiplayer was good though
We need a condemned 3 and Man Hunt 3.
we also need Condemned 2 & Manhunt 2 on Steam and GOG.
I always loved this series. Very underrated and I would love to see a new one
To see a remaster of both games with a VR mode would be sick.
I had so much fun with the crime scene online mode back on the xbox 360.
It's a shame how this game never got a pc port! while it's stuck on the PlayStation 3 and xbox 360! which I always will find it a shame to see games like this one.
Still end up being stuck on older game consoles that never get newer ports for the newer consoles and even pc also! while the only way you can get to play those
Games is with emulator which sucks though.. like I honestly wish I got to play this game back when I still would have play on the ps3 before and even got to discover
This game in the stores.
Great review, though I've heard the same thing in reviews since this game was new about the big reveal.
Ethan's ability and the cult were already spelled out in the first game, but it was subtle, you had to have been paying close attention, or read the unlockable files in the menu. In the first game there's a scene you can't miss where Rosa shows you the documents about Ethan's body, and the unlockable files detail the history of the cult and past killers who were associated with them.
That was the smoothest ad transition I’ve ever seen in my life
bruh those wallets are fucking lit, first time an ad actually caught my eye
I'm sure you meant to say, those wallets are shit. Because, they're shit.
First game was vague and unsettling
Second game was edgy and explained literally everything
I know this channel so well.. i was only listening to the video, but when you made that mom joke and that sound effect popped in, i was sure the word Shwacked was somewehere on the screen, so i went back, i checked, and there it was :D
p.s. i frequently work and listen to your videos just as you would a radio
I've never once played this and this video's my first exposure to this series, but the voice acting in this seems pretty good.
The protagonist of this game looks like a scrapped design for a character youre just extremely glad didn't go anywhere
