Hlo saurabh.... Can you pls guide a yoga plan for kids too from 8 years onwards
1. Warm-up (5 minutes):
Start with a brief discussion about the importance of warming up the body.
Incorporate fun activities like jumping jacks, jogging in place, or dynamic stretches to get the blood flowing.
2. Breathing Exercises (5 minutes):
Teach simple breathing exercises to help children focus and relax.
Balloon Breath: Inhale deeply through the nose, expanding the belly like a balloon, and exhale slowly through the mouth.
3. Basic Yoga Poses (15 minutes):
Mountain Pose (Tadasana): Stand tall, arms by the sides, feet together. Reach arms overhead, palms facing each other.
Tree Pose (Vrikshasana): Balance on one leg, place the sole of the other foot on the inner thigh or calf. Arms can be raised overhead or in prayer position.
Downward Dog (Adho Mukha Svanasana): Hands and knees on the floor, lift hips towards the ceiling, forming an inverted V shape.
Child's Pose (Balasana): Kneel on the mat, sit back on heels, and stretch arms forward with forehead resting on the ground.
4. Partner Poses (10 minutes):
Encourage teamwork and social interaction with partner poses.
Double Tree Pose: Two children stand side by side, each doing the Tree Pose and holding hands.
Partner Boat Pose: Sit facing each other, hold hands, and lift legs, forming a V shape.
5. Animal Poses (10 minutes):
Connect yoga poses to animals to make it more enjoyable.
Cat-Cow Stretch: On hands and knees, arch the back (like a scared cat) and then dip it down (like a cow).
Cobra Pose (Bhujangasana): Lie on the stomach, hands under shoulders, lift the chest like a cobra.
6. Cool Down (5 minutes):
Slow, relaxing poses to wind down.
Butterfly Pose (Baddha Konasana): Sit with feet together, knees bent outward. Hold feet and flap the knees like butterfly wings.
Corpse Pose (Savasana): Lie down on the back, close eyes, and focus on relaxation.
7. Mindfulness and Relaxation (5 minutes):
Guided meditation or storytelling to help them relax and unwind.
the key is to make it enjoyable and age-appropriate , hope will be helpful :)
